How to Unlock Chiral in MW4 DMZ
Chiral sits beyond the regular weapon-camo progression. Reaching its challenge follows this order:
- Level your weapons to unlock their Military camos.
- Complete the Special camo challenges associated with those weapons.
- Unlock Gold and continue through Platinum and Harmonic Break.
- Earn Divergence to gain access to the first mode-specific Mastery challenges.
- Complete Chiral's DMZ Mastery challenge to earn the camo.
DMZ digital-preorder early access begins October 20, ahead of the full Multiplayer and DMZ release on October 23. Weapon levels, attachments and earned camos from early access carry into the full release, allowing eligible players to begin the shared camo progression earlier.
Chiral Requirement
Divergence gives access to Chiral, the first DMZ Mastery challenge. Chiral focuses on eliminating enemies in DMZ. The active camo entry in Gunsmith shows the target conditions and your progress.
Chiral is separate from the Gold, Platinum, Harmonic Break and Divergence Completionist rewards. Completing the shared foundation opens this DMZ-specific challenge.

How DMZ Camo Challenges Work
MW4 shares its Military, Special and Completionist camo progression across Multiplayer and DMZ. Military camos follow weapon levels. Special challenges adapt to the mode, and completed Special camos join a shared pool usable across weapons and modes.
Non-player enemies count toward DMZ Special camo objectives. Chiral’s announced Mastery challenge also involves enemy eliminations, while later DMZ mastery stages introduce different objectives.
The published Chiral objective does not specify whether progress persists after a failed extraction or how losing equipped gear affects it. The challenge counter is the place to check progress between deployments. DMZ player rank remains separate from the weapon-camo ladder.
Fastest Way to Get Chiral
First reach Divergence through weapon leveling, Special challenges and the Completionist chain. Once Chiral opens, focus on its DMZ enemy-elimination objective with a weapon and loadout you can use consistently.
Chiral is not an exfiltration objective like Ripple Tide. Read the current challenge before planning a deployment, and follow the enemy criteria shown there rather than borrowing a route intended for a different camo.
What Comes After: Ripple Tide
Completing Chiral's challenge opens Ripple Tide, the second DMZ mastery camo. Ripple Tide then leads to Helio, the final reward in this mode's ladder.
For comparison, Mercurial Drift begins Multiplayer Mastery, while Parallax begins Warzone Mastery in Season 1. All three mode tracks are covered in the MW4 mastery-camo hub.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do DMZ camo challenges count if you die?
The published Chiral objective does not specify whether progress survives a failed extraction. Check the in-game camo counter before and after a deployment to see what was credited.
Do AI kills count for DMZ camos?
Yes. DMZ Special camo objectives include non-player enemies, and Chiral’s announced Mastery challenge calls for enemy eliminations. Check its active objective for the target conditions.
Is Chiral the first DMZ mastery camo?
