Assassin's Creed Odyssey Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Assassin's Creed Odyssey Platinum cleanup efficient.
Phase 1: Story, with everything progressing at once
Play on the easiest difficulty if you want. No trophy is difficulty gated.
Work the grind trophies alongside the story rather than saving them. Cultists, mercenary tiers, side quests and contracts all progress naturally while you play.
Take Aphrodite's Embrace at the first opportunity. It is the only technical missable and there are many chances, so there is no reason to leave it.
Ignore general location completion. Only the 42 underwater locations matter, so do not clear every question mark.
Complete the 5 questlines that are tied to trophies as you encounter them.
Phase 2: The grind blocks
Hunt all 42 Cultists. This is the largest single block and it spans the whole map.
Rank up all 10 Mercenary Tiers, which is largely a matter of raising and clearing your bounty repeatedly.
Defeat the 4 World Bosses, win 5 Arena matches, complete 20 side quests and 20 message board contracts.
Reach Level 50 and fully upgrade your ship.
This is where a good game becomes a long one. One soft mention of DamnModz fits here, then back to routes.
Phase 3: The 42 underwater locations
The only location completion requirement in the game. Work through them with a checklist.
Most contain the ancient tablets and materials you will want anyway, so this doubles as resource gathering.
With this done the base platinum should land.
Phase 4: Legacy of the First Blade, optional
A separate trophy list, not required for the platinum. Requires level 28 and completion of Chapter 7.
Three episodes with no missable trophies, so play at your own pace.
Track down every member of the Order of the Hunters. In episode 3 there are 7, all found in Messenia, and this is the commonly missed part.
Pick up the Rapid Fire Hunter skill when it becomes available, several DLC trophies lean on it.
Phase 5: The Fate of Atlantis, optional but read this first
Before anything else, complete Heir of Memories from the free Lost Tales of Greece. It only becomes available after finishing the Pythagoras storyline through The Gates of Atlantis.
When given the choice, select Legitimate Progression. Choosing Shortcut means you cannot earn a single trophy in this expansion, permanently.
Three episodes, no missables. Fill the Knowledge Sequence using Keeper's Insights at 30 knowledge each, Isu Data Caches at 10 and Isu Codices at 3.
Forge all 3 Legendary Weapons, which needs adamant ingots at 3 per weapon, and defeat the Hekatonchires.
Community consensus rates this expansion far higher than Legacy of the First Blade, which is worth a sentence for readers deciding whether to bother.
Guide notes
You Do Not Need the DLC
Placed immediately after the Quick Info box. The base platinum requires base game trophies only. Both expansions have their own separate trophy lists. At least one ranking page states otherwise and is wrong, so state the correction plainly rather than just stating the fact.
Guide notes
You Do Not Need 100 Percent Map Completion
This is the second big reassurance. Odyssey has no real collectibles and location completion is not required, with one exception, the 42 underwater locations.
Guide notes
The Fate of Atlantis Lockout
A boxed warning. To earn any Fate of Atlantis trophies you must first complete Heir of Memories from the free Lost Tales of Greece, which requires finishing the Pythagoras storyline through The Gates of Atlantis. When offered the choice, take Legitimate Progression. Choosing Shortcut permanently prevents every trophy in that expansion.
Efficient route
The Grind Blocks
, an H3 each. 42 Cultists, 10 Mercenary Tiers, 4 World Bosses, 20 side quests, 20 message board contracts, Level 50 and a fully upgraded ship. Note that all of these can be progressed simultaneously during the story rather than as separate cleanup passes.
The 42 Underwater Locations
The only location completion requirement in the game, so it gets its own treatment with a checklist rather than being folded into a general collectibles section.
Guide notes
Legacy of the First Blade DLC
, an H3 per episode. Requires level 28 and completion of Chapter 7. No missables. The Order of the Hunters ancients are the commonly missed part, with 7 members in Messenia in episode 3.
Efficient route
The Fate of Atlantis DLC
, an H3 per episode. The knowledge system, Keeper's Insights, Isu Data Caches and Isu Codices, the Hekatonchires fight, and forging the 3 Legendary Weapons from adamant ingots at 3 ingots per weapon.
Not Origins or Valhalla
Origins is covered on its own page in our cluster with a genuinely different structure, and Valhalla is separate again. Cross-link Origins both ways.

Guide notes
Assassin's Creed Odyssey Missable, Glitched, and Difficulty Notes
- One technically missable trophy on the base list, Aphrodite's Embrace for sleeping with a character. There are many opportunities, so it is low risk.
- The genuine hazard is in The Fate of Atlantis. Choosing Shortcut rather than Legitimate Progression when offered permanently prevents every trophy in that expansion.
- Difficulty does not affect trophies. Everything can be earned on the easiest setting.
- Location completion is not required. Only the 42 underwater locations count, which is a large reduction in scope from what the map implies.
- Neither expansion is required for the base platinum. Both have separate trophy lists.
- No missable trophies exist inside either expansion, provided you have not triggered the Fate of Atlantis lockout.
- Legacy of the First Blade requires level 28 and completion of Chapter 7 before it becomes available.
- No glitched trophies are widely reported on the base list.
Quick answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you need the DLC for the Assassin's Creed Odyssey platinum?
No. The base platinum requires base game trophies only. Legacy of the First Blade and The Fate of Atlantis each have their own separate trophy lists, despite some guides claiming otherwise.
Do you need 100 percent map completion in AC Odyssey?
No, and this is the biggest time saver on the list. There are no real collectibles and location completion is not required, apart from the 42 underwater locations.
How long does it take to platinum Assassin's Creed Odyssey?
Around 80 to 120 hours for the base platinum. It is an easy list, the length is the challenge rather than the difficulty.
Are there missable trophies in AC Odyssey?
One technically, Aphrodite's Embrace, and there are plenty of opportunities for it. The real risk sits in the Fate of Atlantis DLC instead.
How do you unlock The Fate of Atlantis trophies?
Complete Heir of Memories from the free Lost Tales of Greece first, and when offered the choice take Legitimate Progression. Choosing Shortcut permanently blocks every trophy in that expansion.
Does difficulty affect trophies in AC Odyssey?
No. Every trophy can be earned on the easiest difficulty setting, so play at whatever level you enjoy.
How many cultists are in AC Odyssey?
42, and all of them are required for the platinum. It is the single largest block of work on the list.
Which AC Odyssey expansion is better?
Community consensus strongly favours The Fate of Atlantis, which has unique worlds, new enemies and stronger boss fights. Legacy of the First Blade is widely considered the weaker of the two.
