Dying Light: The Beast Trophy Guide Quick Info
Dying Light: The Beast Platinum Roadmap
Phase 1: Story and Natural Trophies
Play the campaign on any difficulty. Easy is valid for every base trophy, so there is no reward for making the Platinum run harder. Complete nearby side quests when convenient, activate safe zones and substations as they appear, and collect anything highlighted by Survivor Sense.
Buy Dropkick early in the Power tree and use it for Iconic. Use vehicles against street crowds, repair damaged weapons, and spend Beast transformations on groups to reduce the later combat cleanup.
Defeat each available Chimera. Nine of them, excluding the final boss, provide enough Beast points to complete the Beast skill tree for Ultimate Beast. Reaching level 15 and buying every Agility, Power, and Survival skill handles Ultimate Survivor.
Phase 2: Side Quests and Collectibles
After the story, free roam remains available and nothing is locked out. Complete all 20 side quests for Good Samaritan, then clear the 23 safe zones and 11 substations. The Cable Guy reveals the substations as tracked activities.
Finish the full Killing Streak questline before the final collectible sweep. Killing Streak: Final Chapter opens the Old Town Municipal Library, where one of the Fischer-related newspapers is found. Like Stalker 2, The Beast rewards clearing nearby map activities while traveling, but its Platinum is shorter.
Collect all 100 records, documents, murals, and other items for Cabinet of Curiosities. At workbenches, take 51 qualifying craftplans or tool upgrade paths to their individual maximum rank for Craftsman.
Phase 3: Combat Grind and Races
Use post-story cleanup for Sunday Morning Run, Hexakosioihexekontahexa, Firefighter, Blacksmith, and I Still Don't Approve of Mindless Fun. Most counters should already be close.
Start The Fast and Fortunate after unlocking the required driving skills, then earn Gold in all four Travis races for Kylin McCrane. Save Apex Predator until late game, when UV tools, mines, explosives, and strong ranged weapons make a Volatile much safer to kill.
The three update packs are optional for the Platinum. New Game+, Nightmare, and Restored Land only matter when you want the full 100% trophy completion.

Missable Trophies in Dying Light: The Beast
There are no missable trophies in the base game. The world remains open after the credits, every side quest can still be completed, and all collectible sets remain available once their related areas have been opened. There is no mission replay, but the Platinum route does not need it.
Quest-linked collectibles remain safe after the story. Complete Killing Streak: Final Chapter to access the Municipal Library.
Does Difficulty Affect Dying Light: The Beast Trophies?
Difficulty does not affect the base Platinum. You can play on Easy, change combat settings, and finish all 31 base trophies without a difficulty requirement. That approachable structure places it naturally among the easiest PlayStation Platinums, even though the collectible and blueprint cleanup is lengthy.
Difficulty does affect full 100% completion. The Nightmare is over requires a complete Nightmare run, while Unbeatable requires a complete Restored Land run with One Life enabled. Neither trophy is needed for The Beast Unleashed.
Collectibles Overview
Cabinet of Curiosities requires 100 collectibles across 12 tracked categories:
| Collectible Type | Count |
|---|---|
| Castor Woods Newspapers | 8 |
| Castor Woods Beavers | 11 |
| Sigils | 8 |
| Dr. Peter Paulaner Diaries | 3 |
| Fischer Family Documents | 2 |
| Asylum Patient Records | 6 |
| Castor Woods Recipes | 9 |
| Baron's Research Recordings | 9 |
| Hidden Truths with Spark | 8 |
| Dr. Tal Cubero Recordings | 5 |
| Olivia's Recordings | 4 |
| Murals | 27 |
Family Picture uses all eight Castor Woods Newspapers plus both Fischer Family Documents. What Happened at the Asylum combines six Asylum Patient Records, three Dr. Peter Paulaner Diaries, and five Dr. Tal Cubero Recordings. Use the Collections tab to identify the exact missing entry, then scan interiors with Survivor Sense.
Craftsman is separate from the 100 collectibles. Its counter expects 51 upgradeable craftplans or tool paths to reach their own maximum. Most end at Legendary, while the Grappling Hook and UV Flashlight end at Epic. A plan that starts at maximum rank has no upgrade path and does not advance the counter.
Combat and Skill Trophies
For Gunslinger, gather ordinary infected below a narrow elevated position, use decoys if needed, and fire down with a full revolver. Regular zombies move their heads less than Virals, which makes six headshot kills inside 20 seconds more consistent.
Firefighter becomes available after unlocking the Flamethrower skill in the Survival tree. Burn dense groups and make sure the fire damage gets the final hit. Hexakosioihexekontahexa is faster when every Beast transformation is spent in crowded streets or activity zones.
Apex Predator is best left until the end. Hunt a lone Volatile near a safe retreat, use UV to interrupt it, and combine explosives with ranged damage. Unlike World War Z, every base combat counter here can be completed alone.
General Tips for the Platinum
Clear Activities While Traveling
Activate safe zones and substations whenever they are nearby. Safe zones shorten every death run, while substations power environmental traps and often contain useful craftplans. This also prevents a long map-wide sweep after the story.
Preserve Weapons and Materials
Use a weapon until its durability is nearly empty before repairing it. Raising a weapon at a workbench restores its condition without consuming one of its limited repairs, while damaged enemy weapons can be repaired cheaply to build Blacksmith progress. Dismantle weak gear for parts and keep rare upgrade materials for the 51 Craftsman paths.
Prepare Before Hunting at Night
Volatiles remain dangerous after the campaign. Carry UV tools, healing items, mines, and a reliable ranged option before attempting Apex Predator. Nearby safe zones and Dark Zones provide practical escape routes if several Volatiles join the fight.
Post-Launch Trophy Packs and 100% Completion
New Game+ adds Second Ascent, The Legend Dawns, and Beast's Dowry. A powered-up save makes this second campaign straightforward, and the first Legend Point and Iconic weapon should arrive naturally along the way.
Nightmare adds the Alpha Volatile and a full difficulty playthrough. Starting New Game+ on Nightmare is the efficient route because you retain equipment and character progress. Do not lower the difficulty before completing the story.
Restored Land is a separate survival-focused experience with its own story, side activities, safe locations, and regional reclamation goals. Complete the general Restored Land run first, then attempt One Life once you understand its resource limits and danger points.
Hardest Dying Light: The Beast Trophies and How to Get Them
Craftsman
Start upgrading early because the material cost is the real obstacle. Buy uncommon resources whenever vendors restock, dismantle surplus weapons, clear safe zones and substations for plans, and prioritize craftplans with actual upgrade chevrons. Stop only when 51 qualifying paths have reached their own cap.
Kylin McCrane
The four Travis races reward clean driving more than aggression. Learn the route before chasing Gold, use the driving skills that improve control and collision handling, and restart immediately after a major crash. Missing one checkpoint usually costs more time than braking before a difficult turn.
Cabinet of Curiosities
Work category by category instead of following a single mixed list. The in-game Collections tab names every missing item, which makes the final sweep manageable. Complete quest-gated areas first so every building is accessible.
Unbeatable
Unbeatable is the hardest trophy for full 100%, but it is not part of the Platinum. Practice Restored Land without One Life, learn where food, batteries, safe routes, and major threats appear, then use a conservative completion route that avoids optional fights until your build is stable.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to Platinum Dying Light: The Beast?
The Platinum takes around 40 to 60 hours. Thorough exploration and slow material farming can push the total higher.
How hard is the Dying Light: The Beast Platinum?
It is about 3-4/10. The challenge comes from completion and resource farming rather than difficult combat or missable choices.
Are there missable trophies in Dying Light: The Beast?
No. Every base trophy can be cleaned up in free roam after the story.
Can you Platinum Dying Light: The Beast solo?
Yes. The base list has no co-op or online requirement, making this the first Dying Light Platinum that can be completed entirely solo.
How many collectibles and craftplans are required?
You need all 100 collectibles for Cabinet of Curiosities. Craftsman separately requires 51 qualifying craftplans or tool paths upgraded to their individual maximum rank.
What is the grindiest trophy in Dying Light: The Beast?
Craftsman is usually the longest because it needs large amounts of upgrade materials. Cabinet of Curiosities and the four Gold race medals for Kylin McCrane are the other major cleanup tasks.
The base Platinum is forgiving, but its cleanup can still take several sessions. Players who prefer to skip the remaining grind can use the PlayStation trophy services for game-specific completion support.
