Efficient route

We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap

Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie Platinum cleanup efficient.

1

Phase 0: One rule before you start

Collect the cousin in every level on your first pass through it. Ignore any guide telling you to leave them until later.

Levels containing multiple cousins must be completed then replayed once per cousin, and some of those levels run 12 minutes.

Nothing is missable, so this is purely about avoiding unnecessary replays rather than losing trophies.

If you are on PS4, note that trophies are reported buggy and replaying a level often makes them fire.

2

Phase 1: Work the plaza character by character

Talk to whoever has spawned in the plaza and play their available levels, which is how the story progresses.

Take each character's full set of levels in one go rather than jumping between them, which makes tracking far easier.

Collect the cousin on each level as you play it, and note which levels hold more than one so you can plan the replays.

Revisit stages that have multiple variations, since each variation has its own trophy.

The 100 and 1,000 item type counters accumulate naturally, so they need no separate attention.

3

Phase 2: The gated cousin and the royals

Play as Ace in Soccer Kid's level to access Cousin Slip. Ordinary play as The Prince will never reveal this one.

Go to the Elephant and Bird level and grow to around 3,000m to roll up The King and then The Queen.

We Also Love The Queen is one of the rarer trophies at 15.6 percent, and We Also Love Mutsuo Hoshino is the rarest at 10.9 percent.

Mop up any cousins still outstanding from levels you did not fully clear.

4

Phase 3: The final boss and the platinum

Once your sky holds enough celestial bodies you can attempt We Also Love The Dog, the final boss of the game.

Completing it brings up the end credits, and any remaining trophies can be picked up afterwards.

Total time should be around 10 hours provided you collected cousins as you went.

Carry no commercial mention on this page given the low difficulty.

Guide notes

Collect Cousins on Your First Pass

That guide advises not to worry much about collecting cousins during the early stages. One described realising hours later that they should have looked for them on the first playthrough. Grabbing the cousin while you are already in a level is the single thing that keeps this a 10 hour platinum.

Guide notes

Levels With Multiple Cousins Need Multiple Runs

You can only collect one cousin per attempt, so a level containing three of them must be completed and then replayed twice more. That is the mechanic behind the warning above, and it is why the time cost compounds so quickly on the longer stages.

Guide notes

Cousin Slip Requires Playing as Ace

The one cousin that ordinary play will never reveal. In exactly one level you must already be playing as a previously unlocked cousin in order to see a new one, and specifically you need to play as Ace in Soccer Kid's level to access Cousin Slip.

Guide notes

The King and The Queen

Both are found in the Elephant and Bird level, and the requirement is a size threshold rather than a location hunt. You need to be around 3,000m to roll up each one. We Also Love The Queen sits at 15.6 percent, making it one of the rarer trophies on an otherwise easy list, and We Also Love Mutsuo Hoshino is the rarest at 10.9 percent.

Guide notes

You Do Not Need Every Item

The contrast that makes this the right place to start in the series. Unlike Katamari Damacy REROLL, this game does not require rolling up every item in the game for the platinum. That single difference is why it is the easiest entry point for anyone wanting to trophy hunt Katamari. Cross-link our Katamari Damacy REROLL coverage if built, and note there that it has no autosave at all, saving only on the home planet via the house.

Efficient route

How Progression Actually Works

Your route through the game is to talk to whoever spawns in the plaza and play the levels they have available, building a sky with more and more celestial bodies until you can complete We Also Love The Dog, the final boss. People are added to the plaza gradually as you complete levels, but once they are there you can approach them in any order. The practical recommendation is to take on each character's entire set of levels in one go, which makes it far easier to track what you still have outstanding.

1

Some Stages Have Variations

Certain stages come in multiple versions, so you need to revisit them until the trophy for each variation unlocks. Easy to assume a stage is finished when only one of its variants has been cleared.

Efficient route

PS4 Trophies Are Reported Buggy

A June 2025 comment describes PS4 trophies as very buggy, with the apparent workaround being to play the level a second time, after which the trophies fire. If you are on PS4 and a trophy does not unlock despite clearly meeting the requirement, replay the level before assuming you missed something. Verify whether this has since been patched.

1

The Item Type Counters

Roll up 100 types of things and 1,000 types of things.

2

No Save Transfer for Stacks

Save data does not transfer from PS5 to PS4, and both versions share the same trophy list. So a second platinum means playing through again rather than importing progress.

Quick answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Should you collect cousins on your first playthrough?

Yes, in every level as you play it. The leading guide says not to worry early on, but two readers have asked for that to be corrected, because some 12 minute levels then need replaying three times each.

Can you get all cousins in a level in one run?

No. You collect one cousin per attempt, so a level with three cousins must be completed and then replayed twice more, which is why the time cost adds up on longer stages.

How do you get Cousin Slip in We Love Katamari?

Play as Ace in Soccer Kid's level. This is the one cousin that requires you to already be playing as a previously unlocked cousin, so searching as The Prince will never find it.

How do you roll up The King and The Queen?

Both are in the Elephant and Bird level, and you need to be around 3,000m to roll up each one. We Also Love The Queen is one of the rarer trophies at roughly 15.6 percent.

How long does the We Love Katamari platinum take?

Around 10 hours if you collect the cousins as you go. Leaving them until later adds significant time because of the replays needed on longer levels.

Is We Love Katamari easier than Katamari Damacy REROLL?

Yes, considerably. This game does not require rolling up every item in the game for the platinum, which makes it the easiest entry point in the series for trophy hunters.

Are We Love Katamari PS4 trophies buggy?

They have been reported as very buggy, though playing the level a second time appears to make the trophies fire. If one does not unlock despite meeting the requirement, replay before assuming you missed something.

Do We Love Katamari saves transfer between PS5 and PS4?

No. Save data does not transfer from PS5 to PS4, so although both share the same trophy list, a second platinum means playing through the game again.
