Phase 0: One rule before you start

Phase 2: The gated cousin and the royals
Play as Ace in Soccer Kid's level to access Cousin Slip. Ordinary play as The Prince will never reveal this one.
Go to the Elephant and Bird level and grow to around 3,000m to roll up The King and then The Queen.
We Also Love The Queen is one of the rarer trophies at 15.6 percent, and We Also Love Mutsuo Hoshino is the rarest at 10.9 percent.
Mop up any cousins still outstanding from levels you did not fully clear.
Phase 3: The final boss and the platinum
Once your sky holds enough celestial bodies you can attempt We Also Love The Dog, the final boss of the game.
Completing it brings up the end credits, and any remaining trophies can be picked up afterwards.
Total time should be around 10 hours provided you collected cousins as you went.
Carry no commercial mention on this page given the low difficulty.

Both are found in the Elephant and Bird level, and the requirement is a size threshold rather than a location hunt. You need to be around 3,000m to roll up each one. You Do Not Need Every Item
The contrast that makes this the right place to start in the series. Unlike Katamari Damacy REROLL, this game does not require rolling up every item in the game for the platinum. That single difference is why it is the easiest entry point for anyone wanting to trophy hunt Katamari. How Progression Actually Works
Your route through the game is to talk to whoever spawns in the plaza and play the levels they have available, building a sky with more and more celestial bodies until you can complete We Also Love The Dog, the final boss. People are added to the plaza gradually as you complete levels, but once they are there you can approach them in any order. The practical recommendation is to take on each character's entire set of levels in one go, which makes it far easier to track what you still have outstanding.
Some Stages Have Variations
Certain stages come in multiple versions, so you need to revisit them until the trophy for each variation unlocks. Easy to assume a stage is finished when only one of its variants has been cleared.

A June 2025 comment describes PS4 trophies as very buggy, with the apparent workaround being to play the level a second time, after which the trophies fire. If you are on PS4 and a trophy does not unlock despite clearly meeting the requirement, replay the level before assuming you missed something. Verify whether this has since been patched.
