The Karin Futo is the little boxy coupe at the Vice City intersection in GTA 6 Trailer 1. Pause the Dirt Bike Dirt Bags clip at 1:07 to see its squared-off bonnet and trunk. This is the Toyota Corolla Levin-inspired Futo, not the hatchback Futo GTX.
The camera looks down on a busy junction. Watch for the short, pale coupe instead of following the motorbikes through the frame.

The original Futo sits at the intersection during the Dirt Bike Dirt Bags clip. You can also spot a Banshee in this sequence. The Futo’s separate trunk distinguishes it from the later Futo GTX hatchback.
The returning Futo keeps the shape that made it instantly recognisable in GTA 5: a simple, squared-off two-door coupe with a Toyota AE86 Corolla Levin-style roof and fixed headlight layout.

The classic GTA Online Futo is a compact, rear-wheel-drive coupe with a notchback roof and fixed lamps. It looks unlike the Futo GTX liftback with pop-up headlights.

The grey car at the Vice City intersection in Trailer 1 at 1:07 keeps the familiar upright coupe proportions and fixed-headlight character of the standard Futo.
The Futo and Futo GTX are separate cars in GTA Online, and their Toyota references explain why. The returning GTA 6 coupe follows the Corolla Levin, while the GTX follows the Sprinter Trueno liftback.
The standard Futo resembles the Toyota AE86 Corolla Levin coupe, with fixed headlights and a notchback profile. The Futo GTX takes after the AE86 Sprinter Trueno liftback, whose retractable headlights and hatchback silhouette are closely associated with the anime Initial D. If someone asks for the “Futo anime car,” they generally mean the GTX, not the standard Futo identified in GTA 6 Trailer 1.

The Initial D-associated “anime car” question points to the Futo GTX in GTA Online. That car’s pop-up lamps and liftback shape are not on the grey Futo at the GTA 6 intersection. The ordinary Futo also does not establish a GTX livery option in Vice City.
GTA Online offers a separate Drift Tune for the standard Futo. It changes handling rather than creating a new body style, and its presence in GTA Online does not tell us which drift upgrades GTA 6 will offer.
The classic Futo’s closest real-world match is the 1983 to 1987 Toyota AE86 Corolla Levin coupe. It shares the old-school appeal of a light, front-engine, rear-wheel-drive car that can be made to slide with modest power.
AE86 is the chassis designation associated with Toyota’s sportier 1.6-litre fifth-generation Corolla and Sprinter coupes. Enthusiasts call it the Hachi-Roku, Japanese for eight-six. Even as many ordinary Corolla models shifted to front-wheel drive, the AE86 sports coupes retained rear-wheel drive.
The Corolla Levin used fixed headlights, while its sister Sprinter Trueno used retractable lamps. That real-world distinction carries through the GTA names: the standard Futo resembles the Levin coupe, and the Futo GTX resembles the Trueno liftback made famous by Initial D.
Toyota’s 130 PS figure describes the Corolla Levin 1600 GT APEX’s real 1,587 cc twin-cam four-cylinder at 6,600 rpm. It is not an estimate of the Futo’s engine output. Toyota’s historical figures here do not include a top speed, so no real AE86 speed is used in the comparison.
Karin is a fictional carmaker, not a licensed Toyota brand. The Futo borrows the AE86’s character and silhouette rather than promising the exact Toyota engine, gears or driving performance.
The Futo has been a familiar GTA 5 street car since 2013. It is inexpensive and easy to enjoy sideways, but its measured lap time makes it a poor choice for serious Sports-class racing.
You cannot buy the ordinary Futo through a GTA 5 story-mode car website. Look for it in Rockford Hills, around Los Santos International Airport or near the Port of Los Santos. Evening and night traffic can help, but the car is not guaranteed to appear on every visit.
The original Futo can be found in traffic and kept as a personal vehicle. Southern San Andreas Super Autos listed it for $9,000 in October 2018 and removed it on 13 June 2023. Simeon’s Premium Deluxe Motorsport has since featured it in the weekly rotation.
A suitable street Futo can still be taken and stored in GTA Online, making it unusually accessible beside the expensive Los Santos Tuners cars. Story mode is different because there is no standard Futo dealership purchase.
The Futo rewards drivers who enjoy oversteer more than winning time trials. Its lightweight rear-drive setup matches the dealership joke about “dangerously poor traction,” but the standard GTA Online car’s 1:11.322 lap is near the bottom of the Sports-class field despite a fully upgraded 119.50 mph top speed.
GTA Online’s separate Futo Drift Tune changes the way the car rotates and holds slides. Its dedicated drifting behavior is not included in the ordinary Futo’s tested speed and lap time, and the same conversion has not been established for GTA 6.
GTA 6 top speed: At launch. The fully upgraded standard Futo reaches 119.50 mph in GTA Online, but that is a GTA 5 measurement.
The Futo is quicker in a straight line than its modest appearance suggests. Yet its GTA Online 1:11.322 lap shows the downside of a tail-happy, lightweight setup when drivers need consistent traction through every corner.
Toyota’s historical Corolla Levin figures provide engine output and drivetrain, not a manufacturer-quoted maximum speed, so there is no real-car speed bar. The GTA Online Futo has a Drift Tune, but no HSW top-speed upgrade.
Compare the fastest GTA 6 carsThe Futo started in the GTA IV era before returning as a street car in Los Santos and, now, in GTA 6’s Vice City. Its drift-car reputation grew separately from its official game appearances.
The Futo GT tied to the Albanian mob is a GTA IV-era curiosity, while GTA Online’s Futo GTX is an entirely different later body shape. The grey car shown in GTA 6 Trailer 1 is the standard Futo.
The standard Futo is chiefly styled on the 1983 to 1987 Toyota AE86 Corolla Levin coupe with fixed headlights. Karin is fictional, so it is not a licensed Toyota.
Yes. The classic grey Futo appears at a Vice City intersection in GTA 6 Trailer 1 at 1:07. It is not the Futo GTX.
The Futo is not for sale in GTA 5 story mode. Look for it around Rockford Hills, Los Santos International Airport or the Port of Los Santos, especially in evening traffic. No spawn is guaranteed.
No Futo GTX appearance has been established in official GTA 6 footage. The GTX is the separate Sprinter Trueno-style liftback with pop-up headlights and an Initial D-inspired livery. The standard Futo appears in Trailer 1.
You can keep a Futo found in traffic or look for it when Premium Deluxe Motorsport features it. Its base price is $9,000. The original Southern San Andreas Super Autos listing was removed in June 2023.
