GTA 6 Fathom FR36

The Fathom FR36 races beside the fence at 17:43 in GTA 6: An Extended Look. Look ahead and to the right of the white Cypher for the silver-and-charcoal coupe with TAKIO across the rear bumper. Its proportions come from the Infiniti G35 coupe.

All GTA 6 cars GTA 6 performance and availability: At launch

Key takeaways

  • Where to spot it: on the wet race circuit at 17:43 in An Extended Look, just ahead of the white Cypher.
  • The chief real-car comparison is the 2003 to 2007 Infiniti G35 coupe (V35), with some later G37 (V36) styling influences.
  • In standard GTA Online testing, the FR36 reaches 121.50 mph and laps in 1:04.214. Current Coupes rankings do not put it first.
  • GTA 6 top speed, price, purchase location and spawn locations: At launch.

Where the FR36 Appears in GTA 6

The FR36 is easy to lose in the pack. Keep your eye on the outside fence as the cars run down the straight.

The silver coupe by the right-hand fence is the Fathom FR36. TAKIO runs across its rear bumper. The white Übermacht Cypher in the foreground and the red-liveried car farther ahead are separate vehicles.

What Changed From GTA 5

The road car and the race car share a short trunk and tall rear lamps. Their paint and trim make for a more obvious contrast than their bodywork.

Which Fathom Is in GTA 6?

The FR36 is the only Fathom model identified for this page in official GTA 6 footage. The older FQ 2 SUV has not been identified in the official material documented here. Fathom is GTA's fictional counterpart to Infiniti, not a real-world manufacturer or an Infiniti licensing announcement.

That distinction matters because the FR36's GTA Online history cannot confirm a second Fathom model, a shared GTA 6 vehicle roster or the return of every customization feature.

The Real Car Behind the FR36

The clearest real-world starting point is the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe sold from 2003 to 2007. Its rounded roofline, long front section and compact coupe profile explain why the FR36 feels familiar, especially to players who follow Japanese drift builds.

The generations are easy to mix up. For the coupes, the G35 belongs to the V35 family, related to the Nissan Skyline V35 sold in Japan. The succeeding G37 coupe belongs to the V36 family. The V36 name also appeared on later G35 sedans, so calling a G35 coupe a V36 is misleading.

Where the G37 and Nissan 350Z comparisons fit

Styling comparisons often connect the FR36 front bumper, side skirts and taillights to the later G37 coupe, with smaller touches attributed to the facelifted Nissan 350Z. These are interpretations of the fictional design rather than a confirmed Rockstar parts list. They do not change the principal G35 V35 inspiration.

Real-car manufacturer specifications

2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe

Infiniti's 2003 specification: a 3.5-litre V6 rated at 280 hp and 270 lb-ft, rear-wheel drive, and a choice of a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. Those figures describe the real Infiniti, not the FR36 in either game.

Infiniti built the real G35 Sport Coupe with four seats, whereas the GTA Online FR36 has two. Infiniti also notes the G35's Motor Trend 2003 Car of the Year recognition. These are details of the original road car, not GTA 6 technical specifications.

The FR36 is not a licensed Infiniti. Its G35 and G37 connections are styling references, so a real-car power figure cannot be used to calculate GTA 6 horsepower or top speed.

FR36 in GTA 5 and GTA Online

The Chop Shop brought the FR36 to GTA Online on 12 December 2023. You can buy the standard coupe at Southern San Andreas Super Autos and fit a separate Drift Tune at the LS Car Meet.

Is the FR36 worth buying in GTA Online?

The standard FR36 places second of 21 Coupes on lap time at 1:04.214, but third for top speed at 121.50 mph. Buy it for a quick lap or a drift build, not for a class speed record.

The purchase decision depends on the build you want. Pay the GTA Online sticker price if you like the coupe and plan to use its customization. Do not pay it expecting the quickest straight-line Coupes car or assume the Drift Tune improves the standard 121.50 mph test. Drift handling and regular racing performance are separate choices.

GTA+ members also had a temporary free FR36 claim in June 2025, with a Flames-liveried Vinewood Car Club edition. That promotion was a past GTA Online offer, not an ongoing free-vehicle entitlement.

How Fast Is the FR36 in GTA 6?

GTA 6 FR36 top speed: At launch. No GTA 6 test, game-file value or performance ranking is available to transfer from the promotional footage.

The only meaningful comparison today is the standard, fully upgraded GTA Online FR36. Its measured 121.50 mph comes from Broughy1322 testing and is not a prediction for GTA 6.

No HSW speed-upgrade version is listed for the FR36 in GTA Online. HSW performance upgrades are not interchangeable with Drift Tuning, and neither provides a basis for assigning a GTA 6 speed.
