Resident Evil 0 Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Resident Evil 0 Platinum cleanup efficient.
Phase 0: Read this before touching the menu
Never select New Game from the main menu once you have progress. It wipes your collected weapons and removes Leech Hunter and Wesker Mode along with any tweaks you earned.
Understand that Leech Hunter and Wesker Mode inherit their difficulty from your clear save file, so the difficulty you clear the campaign on determines how hard those modes are.
Decide your route now. Beginners should clear on Easy first. Veterans confident of an S rank can start on Hard and save a whole playthrough.
Phase 1: Easy campaign run, clear the awkward trophies
Clear the campaign on Easy. This makes Leech Hunter and Wesker Mode easier later because both inherit this difficulty.
Use this run for the hardest fiddly trophies, Mimicry Marcus with a knife only, all bosses except Centurion using Rebecca, no recovery items and no combining herbs.
Play the piano as Rebecca in the bar room after the Blue Door in the Training Facility. Only Billy opens the secret passage, so Rebecca failing is what awards the trophy. Note this cannot be done during Leech Hunter.
Defeat 16 bats in the church during the Giant Bat fight. Make a separate save first and bring healing items.
Touch everything on the train. Anything untouched there is permanently missable, and watch the Conductor Zombie which follows you between cars.
Collect the Team Wesker costume in game. The paid costume packs do not include it.
Phase 2: Leech Hunter, run one
Collect 100 leech charms. This also unlocks the Revolver.
Kill every enemy in the mode, including the 22 that respawn once you have gathered 90 leeches. This is the hardest single requirement in the game.
You cannot drop leeches once acquired, so split them roughly 50 to Rebecca and 40 to Billy, which keeps Billy's inventory free for weapons.
Ammo is very limited and your starting loadout varies, either the submachine gun with two green herbs in the lobby or the magnum with one blue and one green.
This is the section buyers most often want handled. One soft mention of DamnModz fits here, then back to routing.
Phase 3: Leech Hunter, run two
A second run for the collect-all-of-only-one-colour trophy, which requires deliberately taking only one leech type.
You will need to kill some enemies but not all of them this time, so this run is much shorter.
This is the trophy most readers need a guide for, so give it precise directions rather than general advice.
Phase 4: Wesker Mode
Unlocked after beating the game. You play the campaign as Wesker in place of Billy.
Use Wesker's charged attack on every zombie you meet. Aim with R1, hold Square until the aura turns red, then release. The kill trophy for this is missable, so do it constantly rather than saving it.
Complete this run without saving for that trophy. Infinite ammo is available if you have played Leech Hunter, which makes the no-save run realistic.
Phase 5: The Hard run and the S rank
Finish the campaign on Hard for that trophy. Enemy locations are the same on every difficulty, so your route knowledge transfers completely.
Target the S rank here, under 3 hours 30 minutes on Normal or Hard. Easy gives no rank at all.
Pausing does not affect the timer, so check a route guide freely mid run.
Veterans who landed the S rank on an earlier Hard run can skip this phase entirely, which is the whole benefit of the veteran route.
Guide notes
Leech Hunter and Wesker Mode Inherit Your Difficulty
Both extra modes take their difficulty from the difficulty of your clear save file. That means clearing the campaign on Easy first makes the hardest content in the game significantly easier. Nobody leads with this and it reshapes the entire run order.
Guide notes
Two Valid Routes
, an H3 each. The beginner route starts on Easy to clear the awkward trophies safely, then works up. The veteran route starts on Hard and can eliminate the final playthrough entirely if you land the S rank on that first Hard run. Present both as a choice with the trade-off stated.
Efficient route
The S Rank Run
Under 3 hours 30 minutes on Normal or Hard. Easy awards no rank at all, so this cannot be done on the easiest setting. Pausing does not affect the timer, and enemy locations are identical across all difficulties, which makes route learning transfer perfectly.
Weapon Unlocks Tied to Clear Times
The SMG for finishing under 4 hours 30 minutes on Normal or Hard, the Rocket Launcher for under 3 hours 30 minutes, and the Revolver for collecting 100 leeches in Leech Hunter. These change what later runs feel like, so the order matters.
Guide notes
Leech Hunter, the Real Wall
Two runs minimum. One trophy needs every enemy killed including the 22 that respawn once you gather 90 leeches, another needs 100 leeches, another needs all of only one colour. You cannot drop leeches once acquired, so split roughly 50 to Rebecca and 40 to Billy to keep Billy's weapon space free.
Guide notes
Wesker Mode
Unlocked after beating the game. Includes a no-saving run and the Wesker head-explode kills, which are missable, so use them on every zombie you meet. Infinite ammo is available if you have played Leech Hunter.
Efficient route
The Fiddly Missables
Mimicry Marcus with a knife only, all bosses except Centurion with Rebecca, no recovery items including green chemicals, no combining herbs, 16 bats in the church, playing the piano as Rebecca, and the Team Wesker costume. Note the costume is found in game and buying the paid costume packs does NOT include it.
Not Resident Evil 1 or the other remakes
Cross-link our Resident Evil 2, 5, 7, Village and Requiem pages, and note that unlike Resident Evil 1 you cannot change difficulty for the extra modes here.

Guide notes
Resident Evil 0 Missable, Glitched, and Difficulty Notes
- Most non-story trophies are technically missable, and everything on the train is missable unless you touch it before moving on.
- The most damaging mechanic is not a trophy at all. Selecting New Game from the main menu wipes your collected weapons and removes Leech Hunter and Wesker Mode along with any earned tweaks.
- Leech Hunter and Wesker Mode inherit their difficulty from your clear save file, so the campaign difficulty you finish on determines how hard those modes will be.
- Difficulty does affect trophies. Hard completion is required, and the S rank cannot be earned on Easy because Easy awards no rank.
- S rank requires finishing in under 3 hours 30 minutes on Normal or Hard. Pausing does not affect the timer.
- Specific hard missables include Mimicry Marcus with a knife only, all bosses except Centurion with Rebecca, no recovery items including green chemicals, no combining herbs, 16 bats in the church, and the Wesker head-explode kills.
- Playing the piano as Rebecca cannot be done during Leech Hunter, only in the campaign.
- The Team Wesker costume is found in game. Buying the paid costume packs does not include it, so do not assume DLC is a shortcut.
- Enemy locations are identical across all difficulties and do not change, which is genuinely helpful for route learning.
Quick answers
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to platinum Resident Evil 0?
Around 20 to 30 hours, typically about 26. That covers roughly six playthroughs across the campaign, Leech Hunter and Wesker Mode.
How many playthroughs does the Resident Evil 0 platinum need?
Between five and a half and six. Around one and a half to two campaign runs, two Leech Hunter runs and one Wesker Mode run.
Why did I lose access to Leech Hunter in Resident Evil 0?
You most likely selected New Game from the main menu. That wipes your collected weapons and removes both Leech Hunter and Wesker Mode along with any tweaks you had earned.
Does difficulty affect Leech Hunter in Resident Evil 0?
Yes, and this is the most useful thing to know. Leech Hunter and Wesker Mode inherit their difficulty from your clear save file, so clearing the campaign on Easy first makes both modes much easier.
How do you get S rank in Resident Evil 0?
Finish the game in under 3 hours 30 minutes on Normal or Hard. Easy awards no rank at all. Pausing does not add to the timer, so you can check a route guide freely.
What is the hardest trophy in Resident Evil 0?
Killing every enemy in Leech Hunter, including the 22 that respawn once you have gathered 90 leeches. You cannot drop leeches, so inventory management is the real challenge.
Do the paid costume packs include the Team Wesker outfit?
No. The Team Wesker costume has to be found in game, and buying the costume packs will not give it to you.
Does difficulty affect enemy placement in Resident Evil 0?
No. Enemy locations are identical on every difficulty and do not change, so route knowledge from an Easy run transfers directly to Hard.
