PS4 vs PC The PlayStation list is EASIER. There is no speedrun trophy, no Steel Soul (permadeath) requirement and no all-endings requirement, all of which the Steam and Switch sets have
Completion Target 112 percent completion unlocks the completion trophy. Permanent upgrades alone account for 37 percent
The Pantheons 5 total. The first three have no individual trophies. The fourth and fifth carry the two big gold trophies. The first four are what 112 percent requires
Hardest Trophy Ascending the fifth Pantheon (Pantheon of Hallownest). It is the rarest trophy and the reason for the 9 out of 10 rating
Fallback If the fifth Pantheon defeats you, the first four still give 112 percent and the completion trophy, but the platinum needs the fifth
Charms Unbreakable charms are not required for 112 percent
Platform PS4 (Voidheart Edition, with the four content packs built in), plays on PS5 via backward compatibility

Efficient route

Hollow Knight Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap

Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep cleanup efficient for Hollow Knight.

1

Phase 1: Explore Hallownest

Play the game naturally, exploring and collecting permanent upgrades, which alone account for 37 percent of completion.

Fill the journal as you go and pick up charms, mask and vessel fragments and nail upgrades.

2

Phase 2: Push toward 112 percent

Work through the remaining completion items with a checklist, including the content pack additions from the Voidheart Edition.

Clear the first four Pantheons, which is what the 112 percent completion trophy requires.

3

Phase 3: Clear everything except the final Pantheon

Bank every other trophy before attempting the fifth Pantheon, so the only thing standing between you and the platinum is that one run.

Practise individual bosses in the Hall of Gods and settle on a charm build.

4

Phase 4: Pantheon of Hallownest and platinum

Ascend the fifth Pantheon. It is the rarest trophy on the list and unlocks the platinum. Expect this to take a large share of your total time.

Guide notes

PS4 List vs PC and Switch

The PlayStation list has no speedrun, no Steel Soul permadeath run and no all-endings requirement, unlike the Steam and Switch achievement sets.

  • The PlayStation list does not require a speedrun, a Steel Soul permadeath run or all endings, unlike the Steam and Switch achievement sets. Ignore PC guides on those points.
  • Only the first four Pantheons count toward 112 percent. The fifth is a separate trophy and is the hardest thing on the list.

Efficient route

112 Percent Completion

Permanent upgrades account for 37 percent of completion. Charms, mask and vessel fragments, nail upgrades, the Hunter's Journal and the first four Pantheons make up the rest. Unbreakable charm upgrades are not required.

  • No missable trophies as such, since Hallownest can be revisited, but tracking charms, fragments and journal entries matters for hitting 112 percent.
  • Unbreakable charms are not required for 112 percent, so do not spend resources on them for trophy purposes.
  • Only the first four Pantheons count toward 112 percent. The fifth is a separate trophy and is the hardest thing on the list.
1

Permanent upgrades

Permanent movement, spell, health, soul, and nail upgrades account for 37 percent. Audit these first because they also improve every Pantheon attempt.

2

Charms and fragments

Finish charms, mask fragments, vessel fragments, and the remaining world progression before long Godhome practice. Unbreakable charm upgrades are not required.

3

Journal and Pantheons

Complete the Hunter's Journal checklist and the first four Pantheons for the remaining percentage. The fifth Pantheon has its own trophy but is not part of 112 percent.

Efficient route

The Pantheons

The first three Pantheons have no individual trophies. The fourth and fifth award the gold trophies, while the first four contribute to 112 percent completion. Clearing 112 percent without the fifth still leaves the platinum unfinished.

  • Only the first four Pantheons count toward 112 percent. The fifth is a separate trophy and is the hardest thing on the list.
1

Pantheons one to three

These are required for progression and completion percentage but have no individual trophies. Use them to settle on a dependable charm build.

2

Pantheon four

The fourth Pantheon contributes to 112 percent and awards a gold trophy. Practise its problem bosses individually before committing to full runs.

3

Pantheon five

The Pantheon of Hallownest awards the final major trophy and does not contribute to 112 percent. Clear every other trophy first so one successful run earns the platinum.

Guide notes

Pantheon of Hallownest Strategy

Finish every other trophy before the fifth Pantheon, then practise its problem bosses individually in the Hall of Gods. Use a consistent charm build for long attempts and change only when a specific fight repeatedly ends the run.

  • No missable trophies as such, since Hallownest can be revisited, but tracking charms, fragments and journal entries matters for hitting 112 percent.
  • Clear every other trophy before attempting the fifth Pantheon, so a successful run ends in the platinum rather than leaving cleanup afterward.
  • Practise individual Pantheon bosses in the Hall of Gods rather than repeatedly failing full runs.

Guide notes

Boss Practice and Charm Builds

Use the Hall of Gods to repeat individual bosses instead of replaying an entire Pantheon. Build for reliable healing, soul generation and the attack range needed by the section you are practising.

Guide notes

Journal and Hunter's Compendium

Compare the Hunter's Journal against a full enemy checklist before the final Pantheons. Common enemies are easy to leave incomplete once their normal areas are no longer part of the route.

  • No missable trophies as such, since Hallownest can be revisited, but tracking charms, fragments and journal entries matters for hitting 112 percent.

Guide notes

Time Expectations

Completion can range from around 15 hours for an experienced route to well over 100 for a first clear. Pantheon practice and progress toward 112 percent create most of that difference.

Efficient route

Hollow Knight Platinum Strategy

Use these checkpoints alongside the roadmap to keep the Hollow Knight trophy route on schedule and protect the high-risk requirements.

1

Follow the PlayStation list, not a PC checklist

The PlayStation trophy list does not require a speedrun, a Steel Soul permadeath clear, or every ending. Steam and Switch achievement guides often include those tasks, which can send a PlayStation player into long runs that add no trophy progress. Use the PS4 list as the authority and treat other platform guides only as mechanical references.

Nothing functions like a traditional one-time missable because Hallownest remains open for revisits. The risk is incomplete tracking. Charms, fragments, upgrades, Hunter's Journal entries, and Pantheon progress all contribute to the completion route, so record each category before the final Godhome work begins.

2

Build 112 percent in visible categories

Permanent upgrades account for 37 percent of completion. The remaining percentage comes from charms, mask and vessel fragments, nail upgrades, the journal, and the first four Pantheons. Unbreakable charm upgrades are not required, so do not spend time and resources on them solely for the platinum.

Audit the completion menu after each major category instead of waiting at 111 percent with no clear missing item. Compare the Hunter's Journal to a complete enemy list, finish world upgrades before entering repeated Pantheon practice, and verify the first four Pantheons individually. The fifth Pantheon has its own trophy but does not supply the missing percentage for the 112 percent requirement.

3

Practise the fifth Pantheon one boss at a time

The first three Pantheons have no individual trophies. The fourth and fifth award the gold trophies, and the fifth is the final platinum wall. Clear every other trophy first so one successful Pantheon of Hallownest attempt ends the list. Use the Hall of Gods to repeat the bosses that end runs instead of replaying the full sequence for limited practice.

Choose a stable charm setup with dependable soul generation, healing windows, and enough attack range for the current stretch. Change the build only when one fight repeatedly exposes the same weakness. Completion time can range from around 15 hours for an experienced player to well over 100 for a first clear, and most of that difference comes from 112 percent routing and fifth-Pantheon practice.

4

Enter the final Pantheon with nothing else outstanding

Confirm 112 percent, the Hunter's Journal, upgrades, charms, fragments, and the fourth-Pantheon trophy before committing to repeated Pantheon of Hallownest runs. The fifth Pantheon is difficult enough without wondering whether another world requirement remains. Once the audit is clean, every practice session has one purpose. Identify the boss that ends the attempt, rehearse that fight in the Hall of Gods, and return only when the response has become consistent.

5

Keep one stable practice build

Consistency matters more than constant charm changes during final practice.

6

Audit 112 percent before long practice sessions

Check the completion percentage and category notes before each new block of Pantheon practice. If the profile is below 112 percent, repair the missing world requirement first. Pantheon of Hallownest practice should begin only after the completion trophy and every easier cleanup item are protected.

7

Turn failed Pantheons into specific practice

After every failed full run, name the exact boss, phase, and resource problem that ended it. Recreate that fight in the Hall of Gods and repeat it until the response is stable with the same charm build. Do not start another long Pantheon immediately after a failure that has not been understood.

Track whether the loss came from damage, weak soul economy, missed healing windows, or unfamiliar attack spacing. Change one part of the build or strategy at a time, then test it against the individual boss. This produces measurable improvement and prevents hours of full-sequence attempts that reach the same unresolved wall.
