A muscle car on Route 82

The red-and-black Vapid Dominator is already on U.S. Route 82 when GTA 6 Trailer 1 opens. For a closer look, jump to 17:42 in An Extended Look. The white-roofed number 18 is the Patriot Beer Dominator. The white car you are following is a Cypher.
The two shots show different sides of the same car: a road-going coupe in traffic and a race car with a number on its roof.

Look just ahead of the player car for the black coupe with a white roof. Its three vertical tail lamps are distinct from the lights on the blue-and-green Buffalo STX in the same race.
The original Dominator and its GTA 6 counterpart share the broad bonnet, compact cabin and muscular rear of the fifth-generation Mustang. The differences are in the smaller styling details.

This early Rockstar screenshot shows the GTA 5 Dominator behind Franklin. The production game and the numbered GTA 6 race car are separate from this pre-release wheel design.

The GTA 6 road car keeps that silhouette. The updated rear shows a third brake light and Mustang-like trunk emblem, with five-spoke wheels adding a different finish to the classic body.
The car on the circuit has a different presentation: black paint, racing graphics and visible sponsor branding. Those details belong to that race-prepared appearance rather than every Dominator on the road.
The GTA Online car is famously easy to unsettle in a corner. Its oversteer, gearing and measured performance cannot be assumed to carry across simply because the GTA 6 body looks familiar.
The Dominator name covers several eras of Mustang design, from the original GTA 5 coupe to the Fox Body FX and the new 1967 cars. These are different models, not interchangeable paint jobs.

| '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy | 1967-styled off-road buggy | New for GTA 6 | Seen in Ultimate Edition imagery | Off-road buggy |
The 1967 Dominator is a separate classic car. The Buggy takes that older shape in an off-road direction, and neither is the red-and-black car that opens Trailer 1. The GTX, ASP and GT likewise have their own distinct bodies.
The family also includes GTA Online-only models that have not been shown in GTA 6 footage. A Pißwasser Dominator from GTA 5 and a Patriot Beer-liveried GTA 6 racer should not be counted as the same named variant.
The standard Dominator is built around the look of the fifth-generation Ford Mustang, made for the 2005 to 2014 model years. The recessed round headlights, broad grille, long bonnet and sweeping two-door roof establish the resemblance.
Other generations supply the details. The rear fascia and taillight treatment recall a 1970 Mustang fastback, while the rising shoulder line echoes the original Mustang. Some vents, pillars and exhaust details also resemble Chevrolet Camaro design elements.
Dominator was also the name of a hood offered on some early-1970s Mustangs. That connection suits a fictional car that blends several Mustang generations rather than reproducing a single model year.
Vapid is a fictional GTA manufacturer. The Ford Mustang is a styling reference, not a licensed vehicle, and the real Mustang’s engine specifications say nothing about the GTA 6 Dominator’s powertrain.
In GTA 5 and GTA Online, the Dominator is an inexpensive Muscle car that offers more straight-line speed than its price suggests. The information here applies to the original GTA 5-era model.
A fully upgraded GTA Online Dominator can reach 120.75 mph in a tested straight line, but it is not an effortless car to race. Too much throttle while cornering brings on oversteer, and the rear can fishtail when the car changes direction.
In GTA 5 story mode, The Wrap Up provides a specific parked example at the Kortz Center. Replaying that mission can make Dominators more common around Los Santos. These story-mode encounters are distinct from buying the car in GTA Online.
Southern San Andreas Super Autos jokes that the Dominator is “a muscle car without the muscle.” The low $35,000 GTA Online asking price and its tested 120.75 mph top speed give that description an ironic edge.
GTA 6 Dominator top speed: At launch. The 120.75 mph result belongs to a fully upgraded GTA Online Dominator, not to the new game.
The GTA 5 handling-file speed of 90.10 mph is a different measurement from the tested maximum. The fastest GTA 6 cars guide keeps historical GTA Online tests apart from GTA 6 figures.
Compare the fastest GTA 6 carsThe Dominator has expanded from one GTA 5 Muscle car into a Mustang-inspired family with modern coupes, police cars, classic models and a Buggy.
The fifth-generation Ford Mustang is its main styling reference, with grille, fastback and taillight details drawn from older Mustangs, including the 1970 model. Vapid is fictional, and the Dominator is not a licensed Ford.
Yes. A red-and-black standard Dominator drives along the opening highway at 0:02 in Trailer 1. A black race-prepared Dominator also appears at Gellhorn International Raceway in An Extended Look.
Six family members appear in GTA 6 material: the original Dominator, GTX, ASP, GT, the new 1967 Dominator and the separate '67 Dominator Buggy. The Buggy is not the standard highway car.
In GTA 5 story mode, a Dominator is parked at the Kortz Center during The Wrap Up, with more street sightings after replaying that mission. In GTA Online, the standard Dominator has a $35,000 price at Southern San Andreas Super Autos.
For GTA Online top speed, the original Dominator tests at 120.75 mph and the GTX at 108.50 mph. The GTX is slightly quicker over a test lap at 1:07.951 versus 1:08.118, while the Dominator GT laps in 1:02.880, fourth in the Muscle class on the cited test. Choose the GTX for its newer Mustang shape and circuit behaviour rather than maximum speed.
