Terraria Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap

Difficulty: 9 out of 10 solo, 3 out of 10 with a co-op partner. That gap is the whole story. Time: 10 to 300 hours depending on co-op. Solo estimates cluster around 50 to 100. Minimum route: Use the planned roadmap. Missables: 0, but several trophies are world-scoped rather than account-scoped.

This Terraria trophy guide turns the complete PlayStation list into a checkable Platinum route, with the version, online, missable, and cleanup risks kept in the order they matter.

Efficient route

Terraria Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap

Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Terraria Platinum cleanup efficient.

1

Phase 0: Decide solo or co-op

This single choice determines whether you are looking at roughly 3 out of 10 or 9 out of 10, and 10 hours or 300.

Enemies and bosses do not scale with player count, so a partner makes every fight easier rather than harder.

Trading with a partner is also the fastest route through the armour and pet collections.

Consider Journey Mode, which is reported as fully trophy-viable on the 1.4 patch and considerably gentler.

2

Phase 1: Early progression and the easy trophies

Survive the first night, get the Guide to move in, and work the early crafting, mining and building trophies.

For Crafty, you only need to open the crafting menu for each station rather than craft something, with a few exceptions. Verify the current behaviour.

Bank the movement and accessory trophies, the triple jump and the distance walked.

Build artificial biomes where needed rather than hunting for naturally generated ones.

3

Phase 2: Bosses and world states

Work through the boss list for Slayer of Worlds. On the 1.4 patch that includes the Lunatic Cultist and Moon Lord.

Trigger the Corruption and Hallow world states for those trophies. Note the old biome boosting shortcut no longer works on PS4.

Kill every slime type for Gelatin World Tour, but do not hunt the Shadow Slime on PS4, since it only exists on old-gen consoles.

Reach maximum life and mana without accessories or buffs.

4

Phase 3: The two big collections

Pet Collector and A Knight in Shining Armors are the bulk of the platinum. Solo, the armour trophy alone runs to around 80 hours.

If the armour trophy does not fire after a complete collection, equip all pieces one set at a time, or loot everything from a chest and deposit it back.

On PS4 the armour only needs to have been in your inventory at some point rather than equipped.

This is where the platinum becomes a genuine grind. One soft mention of DamnModz fits here.

5

Phase 4: Cleanup and the stacks

Finish the cumulative trophies, 10,000 bars smelted and the remaining totals.

Confirm which trophies are world-scoped, particularly All in the Family, and complete those in a single world.

If you want a second platinum, the Japanese version has its own separate list.

Guide notes

Why the Difficulty Rating Swings So Hard

First section after the Quick Info box. Published ratings range from 3 out of 10 to 9 out of 10 and time from 10 to 300 hours. The reason is co-op. Enemies and bosses do not scale with player count, so a partner makes every boss easier, and trading makes the collection trophies dramatically faster.

Guide notes

A Knight in Shining Armors

Every type of armour, every piece of every set including multiple variations of single pieces, at roughly 0.6 percent of players and around 80 hours solo. This is the trophy that defines the platinum. Include the pop fix, since some players complete the collection and the trophy does not fire, resolved by equipping all pieces one set at a time, or by looting everything from a chest and depositing it back. On PS4 the armour only needs to have been in your inventory at some point rather than equipped.

Guide notes

Pet Collector

The second enormous grind. Note that playing without updates reduces the number of pets, armours and bosses required, which lowers the difficulty at the cost of missing content.

Guide notes

Three Corrections to the Leading Guide

Verified from its own comments. Santa Claus is not required for All in the Family. Crafty only requires opening the crafting menu for each station rather than crafting something, with a few exceptions such as the campfire and marshmallows. And the crystal ball is not needed, since it crafts nothing in the console version. Verify each before publishing.

Efficient route

Two Platform Dead Ends

The biome boosting method, joining a world that is at least 50 percent of the biome you need and waiting, no longer works on PS4 and only functions on PS3 and Vita. And the Shadow Slime exists only on old-gen consoles, so it is not on PS4 at all, which has cost players hours of searching for Gelatin World Tour.

1

World-Scoped vs Account-Scoped Trophies

Some trophies such as All in the Family require everything in one world, while others such as Airtime can be accumulated across worlds. Explaining the distinction prevents a lot of wasted effort.

2

Slayer of Worlds

On the 1.4 patch it requires every boss including the Lunatic Cultist and Moon Lord, which older guides predate.

3

Journey Mode

Reported as fully trophy-viable on the 1.4 patch, which is a legitimate and much gentler route worth stating.

4

Do Not Use Modded Save Files

Trophy worlds and modded saves circulate widely for this game. We do not recommend them, and the page should not link or describe them. Say so briefly and move on.

Guide notes

Terraria Missable, Glitched, and Difficulty Notes

  • No missable trophies, but several are world-scoped rather than account-scoped. All in the Family needs every NPC in one world, while Airtime accumulates across all worlds.
  • A Knight in Shining Armors has a known pop failure. If it does not fire after a complete collection, equip all pieces one set at a time, or loot everything from a chest and deposit it back.
  • On PS4 the armour only needs to have been in your inventory at some point rather than equipped, which differs from older platforms.
  • The biome boosting method of joining a world at least 50 percent of the required biome no longer works on PS4 and only functions on PS3 and Vita.
  • The Shadow Slime exists only on old-gen consoles and is not on PS4, so do not hunt it there for Gelatin World Tour.
  • Three corrections exist to the leading guide. Santa Claus is not needed for All in the Family, Crafty needs only the crafting menu opened rather than items crafted, and the crystal ball is not required in the console version.
  • On the 1.4 patch Slayer of Worlds includes the Lunatic Cultist and Moon Lord, which older guides predate.
  • PS3, PS4 and Vita share one list. The global and Japanese versions have separate lists that stack.
  • Modded save files and trophy worlds circulate for this game. We do not recommend them and the page should not describe them.

Quick answers

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to platinum Terraria?

Anywhere from 10 to 300 hours, and the variable is co-op. Solo estimates cluster around 50 to 100 hours, while a partner can cut it dramatically.

How hard is the Terraria platinum?

Roughly 9 out of 10 solo and 3 out of 10 with a co-op partner. Enemies and bosses do not scale with player count, so a friend makes every fight easier rather than harder.

What is the hardest trophy in Terraria?

A Knight in Shining Armors, for obtaining every type of armour, at roughly 0.6 percent of players. It takes around 80 hours on its own solo.

Why didn't my Terraria armour trophy unlock?

This is a known pop failure. Equip all armour pieces one set at a time, or loot everything from a chest and deposit it back. On PS4 the armour only needs to have been in your inventory at some point.

Does the biome boosting method still work on PS4?

No. Joining a world that is at least 50 percent of the biome you need only works on PS3 and Vita. It no longer functions on PS4.

Is the Shadow Slime on PS4 Terraria?

No, it only exists on old-gen consoles. Players have wasted hours searching for it on PS4 for Gelatin World Tour.

Can you get Terraria trophies in Journey Mode?

Reportedly yes, every trophy is obtainable in Journey Mode on the 1.4 patch, which makes it a much gentler route.

Do Terraria trophies stack?

Yes. PS3, PS4 and Vita share one list, but the global and Japanese versions have separate lists so the platinum can be earned twice.
