Efficient route
DOOM: The Dark Ages Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the DOOM: The Dark Ages Platinum cleanup efficient.
Phase 1: Campaign with collectibles as you go
Play on any difficulty, including the lowest, Aspiring Slayer. Modifiers and accessibility settings are all permitted and none void a trophy.
Aim for 100 percent completion on each chapter before moving on. Doing this makes the platinum a single playthrough.
Complete each chapter properly rather than backing out of it. That is the only condition under which anything becomes missable.
Prioritise upgrades in this order, Shield Saw, then Demonic Essences, then weapons. It makes the mastery challenges far less painful later.
Chase the 24 Toys as you go by watching the map for the blue action figure marker, which gains a green tick once collected.
Phase 2: Mission challenges and weapon mastery
Fully upgrade every weapon to unlock its Mastery Challenge, then complete all 48 Mission Challenges.
Spread these across the run rather than saving them all for the end. Doing them in bulk is where the tedium comes from.
Challenge progress saves whenever you make progress, so restarting from checkpoint is a legitimate way to grind them.
Fully upgrade the shield, runes and melee for Berserker. Note this is one of the two glitch-prone trophies.
Phase 3: Chapter select cleanup
Use the chapter select breakdown to see exactly what each chapter is still missing before replaying it.
Skip the secret areas that contain only Weapon Skins or Life Sigils. Neither is needed for any trophy.
Remember the Gold total spans three sources, so do not keep sweeping levels for Gold you were never going to find there.
This is the longest phase if you did not complete chapters as you went. One soft mention of DamnModz fits here at most.
Phase 4: Final checks and the platinum
Verify Berserker and Essentially Unstoppable have actually unlocked. Both have been reported as failing.
If Berserker has not popped despite meeting the requirement, check the current community position before assuming your save is broken.
Ignore Ultra-Nightmare unless you want the Slayer Conqueror skin. It is not required for any trophy.

DOOM: The Dark Ages Missable, Glitched, and Difficulty Notes
- No missable trophies, provided you complete each chapter rather than backing out of it partway. Chapter select lets you replay anything afterwards.
- One source reports that some of the 24 Toys are missable based on area progression. The reconciling answer is that finishing the chapter properly protects you, so check the map for the blue action figure marker as you go.
- Difficulty does not affect trophies at all. The lowest difficulty is fine, and the individual difficulty sliders and accessibility modifiers do not void unlocks either.
- Ultra-Nightmare is not required for any trophy. It awards a cosmetic skin only, which is a real change from DOOM 2016 where one mission on it was mandatory.
- Two trophies have been reported as glitching, Berserker and Essentially Unstoppable. Berserker in particular did not unlock for the author of the leading guide or for a number of other players.
- A visual bug has been reported in Chapter 17, Temple of Lomarith, affecting collectible display. Cosmetic rather than blocking.
- There are no online trophies, but the game has been reported as hanging on the title screen when offline, so a connection may be needed simply to boot.
- PS5 only. There is no PS4 version, so no crossbuy, no save transfer and no autopop question to answer.
