Balatro Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep cleanup efficient for Balatro.
Phase 1: Learn the game and the easy trophies
Play normally to pick up the scoring, hand and progression trophies. Most of the bronze and silver list comes naturally here.
Work toward discovering the full collection, every Tarot, Joker, Planet, Skip Tag, Spectral and playing card.
Phase 2: Climb the stakes
Take each of the 15 decks up through the stake tiers to a Gold Stake win for Completionist+. You cannot skip tiers, so this is a long, steady climb.
Build with the Plant Boss Blind in mind, since it ends more Gold Stake runs than anything else.
Phase 3: The gold sticker grind
Chase a gold sticker on every Joker for Completionist++. Remember the objective is a sticker on each specific Joker, not a high win rate, so draft accordingly.
Expect this to be the majority of your total time. Adjust deck strategy as the remaining sticker pool shrinks.
Phase 4: Challenge runs and platinum
Finish every challenge run now that your play is sharp. Most take one or two attempts, though the Golden Needle and Jokerless runs remain tough. The platinum follows the last one.
Guide notes
What Completionist++ Actually Demands
Completionist++ requires a gold sticker on every Joker, roughly 150 in total. Each sticker only counts after a Gold Stake win with that Joker in play, making this the longest requirement on the list.
- Completionist++ requires a gold sticker on every Joker, roughly 150, each earned by winning a Gold Stake run with that Joker in play. This is the longest trophy in the game.
- Completionist+ requires a Gold Stake win with all 15 decks, and stake tiers cannot be skipped, so each deck climbs from White Stake.

Gold Stake Deck Strategy
Reliable Gold Stake decks need scoring that survives the late antes, enough economy to keep improving, and defensive answers for boss blinds. Early strength helps a climb, but final sticker runs reward consistency over a single ideal deck.

- Completionist+ requires a Gold Stake win with all 15 decks, and stake tiers cannot be skipped, so each deck climbs from White Stake.
- Even after every other trophy is done, expect to still need around half the deck wins and roughly 90 percent of the gold stickers.
Protect the economy
A Gold Stake run needs enough money to reroll, improve scoring, and respond to boss blinds. Avoid spending the entire economy on short-term power before the late antes.
Build scoring that scales
Early strength can clear low stakes, but Gold Stake needs a scoring engine that continues growing. Choose Jokers and card improvements that remain useful through the final blinds.
Target missing stickers
A safe win does not advance Completionist++ unless a missing Joker survives in the final build. Balance the strength of the deck against the specific sticker being carried.
Guide notes
Stickers, Not Win Rate
Completionist++ is not about winning the most runs or the highest win rate, it is about getting a sticker on each specific Joker, which changes how you draft and when you take risks.
- Even after every other trophy is done, expect to still need around half the deck wins and roughly 90 percent of the gold stickers.
- Save the challenge runs until after the gold stickers. Most become quick by then, though the Golden Needle and Jokerless runs stay difficult.
Guide notes
The Plant Boss Blind
The Plant debuffs every face card and can end a run built around Kings, Queens or Jacks. Keep a non-face-card scoring line or a reroll option available before committing a valuable sticker attempt.
- Build with the Plant Boss Blind in mind. It ends more Gold Stake runs than any other single factor.
Guide notes
Challenge Runs Last
Complete the challenge runs after the Gold Stake and sticker work. Most become short by then, while Golden Needle and Jokerless remain the two challenges most likely to require repeated attempts.

Guide notes
Setting Expectations
Expect roughly 100 to 250 or more hours. Play speed, Gold Stake consistency and the final missing Joker stickers create most of the variance between saves.
Efficient route
Balatro Platinum Strategy
Use these checkpoints alongside the roadmap to keep the Balatro trophy route on schedule and protect the high-risk requirements.
Treat gold stickers as the main completion system
Completionist++ needs a gold sticker on every Joker, roughly 150 in total. A sticker only counts when a Gold Stake run is won with that Joker in play. The objective is therefore not the highest win rate. It is creating winning runs that carry a specific missing Joker through the final ante, even when a safer pick would make that one run easier.
Keep a visible list of missing stickers and take calculated risks when one appears. Early in the grind, strong general Jokers can carry several unstickered choices together. Near the end, the final missing Jokers determine the draft, economy, and reroll decisions. That shift is why Completionist++ remains long after the normal collection and deck wins are finished.
Climb every deck through each stake tier
Completionist+ requires a Gold Stake win with all 15 decks. Stake tiers cannot be skipped, so every deck must progress from White Stake upward before its Gold Stake attempt becomes available. Rotate decks when a climb becomes repetitive, but keep enough notes to avoid repeating a stake that is already complete.
A reliable Gold Stake build needs scoring that survives the late antes, economy that continues improving, and an answer for dangerous boss blinds. Early strength can clear lower stakes, while the final tiers reward consistency. No single deck solves every missing sticker, so use the deck whose economy and starting rule support the Joker currently being targeted.
Plan for the Plant, challenges, and final discoveries
The Plant debuffs all face cards and is the most common end to a promising Gold Stake sticker run. Keep a scoring line that does not depend entirely on Kings, Queens, or Jacks, or preserve a way to reroll the boss. A small defensive concession is worth more than losing an otherwise complete run at the final blind.
Finish the challenge runs after the Gold Stake and sticker work. Most become short with that experience, although Golden Needle and Jokerless remain demanding. Complete the Tarot, Joker, Planet, Skip Tag, Spectral, and playing-card discoveries alongside normal runs, then target the missing Legendary Jokers through their required Spectral route. Total time commonly lands between 100 and 250 or more hours, mainly because of play speed and the last gold stickers.
Use the final collection screen as a work queue
After the deck wins and challenge runs, sort the collection around missing discoveries and gold stickers. Each run should target a defined Joker or undiscovered item instead of playing only for another generic win. Record the deck, stake, missing sticker, and boss weakness before starting. This is especially important near the end, when a safe familiar build may produce no Completionist++ progress even though it wins consistently.
Separate a win from useful completion progress
Before the first blind, define whether the run targets a deck win, a challenge, a discovery, or one missing gold sticker. A victory that advances none of those goals is still practice, but it should not control every draft decision. Near the end of Completionist++, prioritise the missing Joker when the deck can carry it safely through Gold Stake.

Quick answers
Frequently Asked Questions
How many trophies are in Balatro?
32 including the platinum. Confirm the exact Gold, Silver and Bronze split on PSNProfiles.
How long does the Balatro platinum take?
Roughly 100 to 250 plus hours. The PSNProfiles guide author finished in just under 170, and community reports range from about 150 to 350.
What is Completionist++ in Balatro?
A gold sticker on every Joker, roughly 150 of them, each earned by winning a Gold Stake run with that Joker in play. It is the hardest trophy in the game.
Can you skip straight to Gold Stake?
No. Each deck has to be climbed from White Stake up through the stake tiers, which is why winning with all 15 decks takes so long.
Is the Balatro platinum hard?
Sources rate it between 7 and 9 out of 10. The disagreement is almost entirely about how punishing the gold sticker grind feels.
When should you do the challenge runs?
After the gold stickers. By that point most take one or two attempts, although the Golden Needle and Jokerless runs stay hard.
