Far Cry Primal Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Far Cry Primal Platinum cleanup efficient.
Phase 1: Story and constant gathering
Play on the lowest difficulty if you want speed. Nothing is difficulty gated.
If you have the choice, play on PS4. PS5 crashes have been reported roughly every 20 minutes, mostly during cutscenes.
Pick up rocks, wood and clay constantly as you travel. Hut and weapon upgrades consume a lot and gathering later is slower.
Collect as you go using hunter vision, where collectibles show as yellow or red. You only need 80 of the 184 in the game.
Travel by beast rather than on foot. It is quicker and keeps you ready for a fight.
Phase 2: Outposts, activities and beasts
Capture outposts. You need 10 of 15 for one trophy and all 15 for another.
Work the activity types as you find them, 12 Spirit Totems, 15 Help Wenja quests, 15 hidden locations, 10 Tribal Clash quests and 5 Beast Kill quests.
Upgrade the village huts, which needs animal skins. Sleeping at camps respawns wildlife if you are short.
Back up your save before attempting the apex tames, since Here Kitty can be lost to a rare glitch.
Phase 3: Beast Master Hunts and the apex tames
Take on the four Beast Master Hunts once you have most weapon upgrades. These are the four strongest animals in the game.
The three tamable apex beasts must be fought before they can be tamed, so bring the right loadout.
For Here Kitty, the Bloodfang Sabertooth should only be downed rather than killed. If a glitch kills it, reload a backup save rather than assuming the trophy is gone.
Phase 4: Expert Wenja and the platinum
Learning every skill is the last wall and the rarest trophy at roughly 6 percent.
There is an XP cap, so side activities rather than pure kills are what finish the skill tree.
If you have done every side mission and are still short, stop stealthing outposts. Charge in, kill everyone, then reset all outposts and repeat, since a loud clear pays more XP.
This is where the platinum becomes a grind rather than a game. One soft mention of DamnModz fits here.
Guide notes
Only 80 of 184 Collectibles Are Needed
First section after the Quick Info box. The map holds 184 collectibles and the trophy needs 80. That more than halves the perceived workload and it is the single fastest way to make this platinum look achievable. Note that collectible locations appear on your map naturally as you reveal it, and that all collectibles show as yellow or red in hunter vision.
Guide notes
Play This on PS4, Not PS5
Community reports describe the game crashing roughly every 20 minutes on PS5, predominantly during cutscenes, with PS4 far more stable. That is a platform recommendation rather than a strategy tip and it belongs high on the page.
Guide notes
The Expert Wenja XP Problem and Its Fix
Learning every skill is the rarest trophy at roughly 6 percent, and there is an XP cap that stops you simply grinding kills. Side activities are required. The community fix, if you have done every side mission and are still short, stop stealthing outposts. Charge in, kill everyone, then reset all outposts and repeat. Stealth pays less XP than a loud clear.
Guide notes
Here Kitty May Be Unobtainable
Taming the Bloodfang Sabertooth requires downing it rather than killing it, and a rare glitch can kill it outright, leaving the trophy unobtainable on that save. The guide author confirmed this is a glitch, and no patch fix was known as of 2022. Back up your save before attempting the apex tames and state the current status with a date.

The Four Beast Master Hunts
The four strongest animals in the game, best left until you are well armed with most weapon upgrades. Note that the three tamable apex beasts must be fought before they can be tamed.
Gather Materials Constantly
Weapon and hut upgrades need a lot of rocks, wood and clay. Picking them up as you travel avoids a dedicated scavenging phase later. Animal skins are the slower resource, and sleeping at camps respawns wildlife.
Travel by Beast
Faster than on foot and it keeps you combat ready. A small quality of life point from the community that no guide body mentions.

The Activity Types
12 Spirit Totems, 15 Help Wenja quests, 15 hidden locations, 10 Tribal Clash quests, 5 Beast Kill quests, and 10 of 15 outposts for one trophy with all 15 for another. Group these, since they resolve alongside the skill grind.
No Multiplayer, No Server Risk
Unlike Far Cry 3, 4 and 5, Primal has no multiplayer and no online trophies at all, so there is no server dependency.

Guide notes
Far Cry Primal Missable, Glitched, and Difficulty Notes
- Officially no missable trophies. The game is open world and everything remains available at your own pace.
- Here Kitty is the exception in practice. Taming the Bloodfang Sabertooth requires downing it, and a rare glitch can kill it outright leaving the trophy unobtainable. No patch fix was known as of 2022, so back up saves before the apex tames.
- There is no multiplayer and no online trophies at all, so there is no server dependency, unlike Far Cry 3, 4 and 5.
- Difficulty does not affect trophies. Everything can be done on the lowest setting.
- Only 80 of the 184 collectibles are required.
- Expert Wenja needs every skill, and an XP cap means side activities rather than kill grinding are what complete the tree.
- Reported PS5 instability, with crashes roughly every 20 minutes mostly during cutscenes. PS4 is the more stable platform.
- Some miscellaneous trophies need skills or upgrades that only unlock during the story, so the story comes first.
Quick answers
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to platinum Far Cry Primal?
Guides say 20 to 26 hours, but that assumes rushing on easy with cutscenes skipped. Playing at a normal pace, expect closer to 38 hours, with the end game skill grind being the slow part.
How many collectibles do you need in Far Cry Primal?
Only 80, out of 184 in the game. Locations appear on your map as you reveal it, and everything shows as yellow or red in hunter vision.
Are there missable trophies in Far Cry Primal?
Officially none. In practice Here Kitty can be lost, since a rare glitch can kill the Bloodfang Sabertooth instead of downing it, making it untameable. Back up your save first.
Does Far Cry Primal have multiplayer trophies?
No. There is no multiplayer at all and no online trophies, so unlike Far Cry 3, 4 and 5 there is no server dependency to worry about.
How do you get the Expert Wenja trophy?
Learn every skill. There is an XP cap so side activities are required, and if you are still short after every side mission, charge outposts loudly rather than stealthing them, then reset all outposts and repeat.
Does Far Cry Primal crash on PS5?
Players report crashes roughly every 20 minutes on PS5, mostly during cutscenes. If you have the choice, PS4 is the more stable platform for this game.
Does difficulty affect trophies in Far Cry Primal?
No. Everything can be earned on the lowest difficulty setting, so play at whatever level you find comfortable.
How many outposts are in Far Cry Primal?
15. One trophy needs 10 of them captured and another needs all 15. They also reset, which is useful for XP farming later.
