Death Stranding Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep cleanup efficient for Death Stranding.
Phase 1: Play the story
Complete the Orders for Sam story deliveries on any difficulty. Switch difficulty freely, it does not cost you trophies.
Nothing is missable, so enjoy the story and leave the grind for the postgame.
Phase 2: Build the network
Once ziplines are available, build networks across your delivery routes. This is the single biggest time-saver for everything that follows.
Knock out the two Legend trophies on Hard, plus the structure-building and upgrade trophies.
Phase 3: The facility grind
Push every facility to maximum connection (five stars) using premium Standard Orders for the best like rewards. This is the bulk of the platinum.
Fold in the premium delivery evaluation trophies and Grade 60 across all categories while you are delivering.
Phase 4: Collectibles, platinum and the PS5 stack
Finish the 56 memory chips, fabricate everything, and read the 100 mails and 100 interviews. The platinum unlocks.
If you own the PS5 Director's Cut, export this completed save and bank a second platinum in roughly 4 to 6 hours.

The Facility Grind
Three connection stars arrive naturally, but every facility needs deliberate premium Standard Orders to reach five stars. All 800 Standard Orders are replayable, so failed ratings and inefficient early deliveries never lock the platinum.
- Maximum facility connection is the longest trophy by far. Use premium orders for the best like rewards, and note that facility levels do not decay.
- Build ziplines as soon as they unlock. Doing the delivery grind without them costs far more time than it needs to.
From three stars to five
Story orders usually reach three stars. The last two connection levels need focused Standard Orders, so revisit a terminal with premium deliveries that award enough likes to move the bar efficiently.
Farm likes through premium orders
Choose orders that serve a facility and a delivery evaluation category at the same time. All Standard Orders replay, which means a low grade can be corrected later with better equipment and infrastructure.
Build repeatable loops
Connect several unfinished facilities in one route and carry return cargo whenever capacity allows. A stable zipline or vehicle loop is more valuable than one perfect long delivery.
Guide notes
Ziplines and Time-Savers
The single biggest efficiency lever. Build zipline networks once unlocked so cargo no longer slows you down, then plan delivery routes around them.
- Only the two Legend trophies require Hard difficulty, and both can be done after the story. Difficulty is otherwise switchable at any time with no penalty.
- Build ziplines as soon as they unlock. Doing the delivery grind without them costs far more time than it needs to.
Guide notes
Online Trophies Without PS Plus
Six online trophies, none of which need a PS Plus subscription.
- The six online trophies do not require PS Plus, so no subscription is needed for the platinum.
- Build ziplines as soon as they unlock. Doing the delivery grind without them costs far more time than it needs to.
Guide notes
Does Difficulty Affect Trophies
Barely. Difficulty is switchable at any moment with no trophy penalty, and only the two Legend trophies need Hard, both doable after the story. Outside combat, Hard changes very little.
- Only the two Legend trophies require Hard difficulty, and both can be done after the story. Difficulty is otherwise switchable at any time with no penalty.
Guide notes
The PS4 to PS5 Director's Cut Stack
The PS4 and PS5 Director's Cut use separate lists. Exporting a completed PS4 save leaves roughly four to six hours of Director's Cut additions before the second platinum.
- If you own both versions, do not start the Director's Cut from scratch. Export your completed PS4 save for a fast second platinum.
Guide notes
Collectibles and Fabrication
Collect all 56 memory chips, fabricate every required weapon and equipment item, read the relevant mail and interviews, and build every structure type to maximum level. Track fabrication marks so duplicate crafting does not waste materials.
Efficient route
Death Stranding Platinum Strategy
Use these checkpoints alongside the roadmap to keep the Death Stranding trophy route on schedule and protect the high-risk requirements.
Turn facility connection into a delivery plan
The first three connection stars usually arrive through story deliveries. Four and five stars require deliberate Standard Orders, so stop treating each terminal as an isolated checklist. Choose premium orders that raise a facility while also improving a delivery evaluation category, then carry another order on the return path whenever cargo capacity allows.
Facility levels do not decay and all 800 Standard Orders are replayable. A low rating or an inefficient early trip cannot permanently block the platinum. This makes route quality more important than perfect execution. Build a repeatable loop, raise several facilities together, and return later with better equipment instead of forcing difficult cargo through an undeveloped region.
Build ziplines before the long cleanup
Ziplines are the largest time-saving system in the roadmap. Once they unlock, place a network that connects difficult facilities and bypasses terrain that slows vehicles or damages cargo. A useful line should support more than one premium order, because every repeated delivery then raises connection, likes, and Porter Grade with far less travel time.
Plan each extension from an existing anchor rather than dropping isolated structures. Carry enough materials to improve the network while delivering, and repair the most valuable links before starting a long sequence. The objective is not a perfect map. It is a dependable set of routes that converts the five-star grind into short, repeatable runs.
Stack difficulty, online, and Director's Cut cleanup
Only the two Legend evaluation trophies need Hard difficulty, and they can be completed after the story. Switch to Hard for the required premium orders, confirm the rating, and lower the setting again if another task becomes needlessly slow. The six online trophies use the asynchronous connection system and do not require a PlayStation Plus subscription.
Collect the 56 memory chips, fabricate every required item, read the relevant mail and interviews, and finish the maximum-level structure types alongside the delivery grind. If both console versions are available, export a completed PS4 save into the PS5 Director's Cut. The remaining Director's Cut additions take roughly four to six hours and are much faster than rebuilding every facility from a new game.
Run a terminal-by-terminal final audit
After the story, check every facility connection level, the four Grade 60 categories, the Legend evaluations, fabricated equipment, structure levels, memory chips, mail, and interviews. Finish the items that share a route before dismantling or ignoring useful infrastructure. The map remains open and orders replay, so the final audit should reduce travel rather than create a new region-by-region grind.

Quick answers
Frequently Asked Questions
How many trophies are in Death Stranding?
63 on the original PS4 list and 63 on the PS5 Director's Cut list. They are separate lists, so there are two platinums available.
Is the Death Stranding platinum hard?
No, around 3 out of 10. It is easy but very long, with most of the time going into postgame deliveries.
Do you need PS Plus for the Death Stranding platinum?
No. There are six online trophies, but none of them require a PS Plus subscription.
What takes the longest in the platinum?
Reaching maximum connection level with every facility. That single trophy is the reason the platinum runs 70 hours or more.
Does difficulty affect trophies?
Barely. You can change difficulty at any time without losing trophies, and only the two Legend trophies need Hard, both after the story.
Can you stack the PS4 and PS5 platinums?
Yes. The Director's Cut has a separate list, and exporting a completed PS4 save gets you a second platinum in roughly 4 to 6 hours.
