Efficient route

The Last of Us Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap

Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the The Last of Us Platinum cleanup efficient.

Phase 0: Identify your version

Confirm which of the three you own before reading any further, because the requirements differ substantially and one of the platinums cannot be earned at all.

PS3 original, do not start for the platinum. Its Factions servers closed in 2019 and the multiplayer trophies are in the main list.

PS4 Remastered, obtainable but it needs Factions, PS Plus and a Grounded-level difficulty run. Re-check server status first.

PS5 Part I, the comfortable option. One playthrough, no online, no difficulty trophies.

Phase 1: Part I on PS5, single playthrough

Play on whatever difficulty you like. There are no difficulty trophies at all, so an easier setting simply saves time.

Collect as you go. Firefly pendants, comics, training manuals, artefacts and optional conversations all feed trophies.

Watch the three chapter-specific trophies that do not exist on the older lists. Turn off the spotlight generator in Pittsburgh, leave Ellie hanging after the Dam bridge, and pet Buckley at the Dam.

You only need one weapon fully upgraded, not all of them. This is the biggest single change from the older versions.

Sharpest Tool in the Shed is the one missable, so handle it in sequence rather than planning to return.

Phase 2: Part I, Left Behind and chapter select cleanup

Left Behind trophies are inside Part I's main list, so the DLC story is required for this platinum. It is included free.

Use chapter select for anything outstanding. Collectibles save to the profile save rather than the manual save, so cleanup does not overwrite your progress.

That should land the platinum at around 25 hours total.

Phase 3: Remastered on PS4, difficulty runs

Complete the game on Hard first, which awards the Normal and Easy trophies at the same time.

Then complete Survivor or Grounded, and the New Game Plus equivalents.

A documented shortcut has players reach the first chapter, quit to the menu and restart New Game Plus on the hardest difficulty. Verify this still works before publishing it as advice.

Left Behind is a separate list on Remastered, so it is not required for that platinum.

Phase 4: Remastered Factions, while it lasts

Re-verify servers are up before starting. Factions was still online with an active player base as of April 2026, but this is the one fact on this page that can change without warning.

PS Plus is required. Win 2 of the 3 modes for the platinum, Supply Raid and Survivors being the usual pair.

Interrogation is not needed for the platinum, only for 100 percent completion.

The PS3 platinum is dead, its Factions servers closed in 2019 and the multiplayer trophies sit in the main list. Part I vs Remastered, What Actually Changed

A comparison table. Part I dropped every difficulty trophy and every multiplayer trophy, moved Left Behind into the main list so it is now required, and added miscellaneous trophies to compensate. Remastered keeps Left Behind as a separate list and has no miscellaneous trophies in the main list.

Efficient route

The Part I Platinum Is Much Easier

The old platinum needed every weapon fully upgraded plus a Grounded run across roughly three playthroughs and 60 hours. Part I needs one weapon maxed on any difficulty and lands in around 25 hours in a single run.

Chapter Select and the Profile Save

Collectibles are stored in the profile save rather than the manual save, so loading a save after chapter select cleanup does not lose progress.

Remastered Difficulty and New Game Plus

Hard, then Survivor or Grounded, plus New Game Plus equivalents. Note the documented shortcut, reaching the first chapter then quitting to the menu and restarting New Game Plus on the hardest difficulty, and verify it still works before recommending it.

Remastered Factions Trophies

Three modes, Supply Raid, Survivors and Interrogation. You need to win 2 of the 3 for the platinum, and Interrogation is only needed for 100 percent. PS Plus is required. This is the section where a soft service mention belongs, if anywhere.

Not Part II

The Last of Us Part II and its Remastered version are separate games with separate lists. Disambiguate and note as a build opportunity.

Part I has one missable, Sharpest Tool in the Shed. Everything else is recoverable through chapter select.
The PS3 original's platinum is unobtainable. Factions servers closed in 2019 and the multiplayer trophies are inside the main trophy list, so there is no route around them.
The PS4 Remastered platinum depends on Factions still being online. It was active as of April 2026 with no announced shutdown, but this can change and PS Plus is required.
