Efficient route
Final Fantasy XIV Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Final Fantasy XIV Platinum cleanup efficient.
Phase 0: Decide which list, and whether to trial it
Establish which version you are targeting. PS4 is 39 trophies capped at level 50 with no expansions needed, PS5 is 176 and requires them.
You can pursue both simultaneously, switching version from the PS5 main menu when a PS4-only trophy needs triggering.
Consider starting on the free trial, which covers A Realm Reborn, Heavensward and Stormblood with no time limit and unlocks trophies on the PS5 version.
Budget the subscription honestly. A 180 day period was historically around 78 dollars, and the PS4 platinum has a six month floor regardless.
Phase 1: Start levequests on day one
Begin the 1,000 levequests immediately. At three per twelve hours this takes 167 days on schedule, and nothing shortens it.
Watch the allowance cap of 100. You stop accruing new allowances at that point, so log in regularly rather than banking.
This single trophy sets the length of the entire PS4 platinum, so it must start before anything else.
Work the main scenario quest alongside it, which is where most of your early kills and progression come from.
Phase 2: The main scenario and the counters
Complete the main scenario, then begin the cumulative counters, FATEs, instanced raids and guildhests.
The FATE and dungeon trophies come in tiers, so partial progress pays out at 100, 300, 1,000 and above.
Expect to be roughly 4,000 to 5,000 short on the 10,000 kill requirement once the scenario is done, so add Duty Roulette or extra story missions deliberately.
Reach the rank of captain in one of the three Grand Companies.
Phase 3: Seeker of Truth and the Binding Coil
Clear the Binding Coil, the only trophy that gives the PS4 list a 10 out of 10 rating.
Your progress resets on Tuesdays along with the Tomes of Soldiery, so you cannot farm the raids for gear.
Be aware you can get locked into later turns and miss the gear from earlier ones, which is what makes this a scheduling problem.
Keep capping Tomes of Mythology and completing levequests through this period, since the 167 day clock is still running.
Phase 4: The PS5 list, if you are going for both
The PS5 list is 176 trophies at roughly 999 hours, including 3,000 FATEs, 2,000 dungeon raids, 8,000 collectables gathered and 5,000 synthesised.
It also requires the Second Coil of Bahamut on Savage and the expansions themselves.
Use the patch 7.0 Achievements menu autopop to claim anything you already qualify for rather than repeating it.
Keep any commercial mention minimal here, since progress is account-bound and subscription-based.

These Are Two Completely Different Lists
First section after the Quick Info box. The PS4 version, sold as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, has 39 trophies and covers content only up to patch 2.1 and level 50, and no trophy on it requires any expansion. The PS5 version, simply Final Fantasy XIV, has 176 trophies and does require the expansions. They share only a few similar requirements.

You Can Work Both Platinums Together
The practical consequence of that split. Some PS4 trophies, such as 1,000 levequests or 100 guildhests, have no PS5 equivalent at all. But you can fulfil those requirements while playing the PS5 version, then switch the game version from the PS5 main menu, or play the PS4 version on a PS4 and complete one more of whatever activity the trophy needs to trigger it. That means one subscription can advance both lists rather than requiring two separate campaigns.

The 167 Day Hard Floor
An Adventurer's Life requires 1,000 levequests, and levequests are time gated to three per twelve hours. Completing them on schedule from day one takes a solid 167 days, which is why guides quote a six month minimum for the PS4 platinum. No amount of skill, money or playtime shortens this. There is also an allowance cap of 100, so you cannot stockpile them while away and burn through later. Only 5.9 percent of players hold this trophy, and this is why.

The Free Trial Earns Trophies
Genuinely surprising and worth prominence. The free trial includes the entirety of A Realm Reborn plus the Heavensward and Stormblood expansions with no restrictions on playtime, and trophies unlock on the PS5 version of the trial. Verify this still holds before publishing, since trial terms change.

Patch 7.0 Autopop
As of patch 7.0 you can autopop all trophies by opening the Achievements menu under your Character settings, provided you already meet the requirements. That matters for long-standing players who completed the underlying achievements years ago and never received the trophies, and it also means requirements met on one version can be claimed efficiently. Confirm it still functions before publishing it as a route.

Seeker of Truth Is a Scheduling Problem
The only trophy that earns the PS4 list its 10 out of 10 rating. It requires clearing the Binding Coil, and the difficulty is structural rather than mechanical. Your progress resets on Tuesdays along with the Tomes of Soldiery, so you cannot farm the raids for gear, and you can get locked into later turns and miss the gear from the earlier ones entirely.
You Will Be Five Thousand Kills Short
Defeat 10,000 enemies sounds like it will arrive naturally and it does not. A player going purely for the platinum sits at roughly 4,000 to 5,000 once the main scenario is complete and they are grinding FATEs and levequests. The advice is to add Duty Roulette runs or extra story missions deliberately rather than discovering the shortfall at the end.
