Efficient route

Assassin's Creed 2 Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap

Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Assassin's Creed 2 Platinum cleanup efficient.

1

Phase 1: Story, watching Sequence 8

Play through the DNA sequences and enjoy the story. There is no difficulty setting and nothing else is missable.

When you reach Sequence 8 and fly Leonardo's flying machine, kick a guard for Fly Swatter. Target the first set of archers, who are out in the open.

If the flight is ending and you have not got it, crash deliberately into a building or the ground to restart the sequence.

On PS3 with the DLC you get a second chance in Sequence 12. Without the DLC you skip Sequences 12 and 13 entirely, so Sequence 8 is your only window.

Unlock sand throwing from the trainer outside the Auditore stronghold under special moves, for the stun trophy.

2

Phase 2: Renovations, upgrades and side content

Upgrade the Villa Auditore and complete the Florence renovations, which drives the money loop everything else depends on.

Get all Hidden Blades, Item Pouches and armour upgrades for Victory Lies in Preparation.

Buy paintings in Florence and Venice, and complete the six Assassin's Tombs.

Find and decipher a glyph for A Piece of the Puzzle.

3

Phase 3: Collectibles via the DNA tab

Open the pause menu DNA tab to see exactly which cities and districts still have feathers outstanding. It works for viewpoints and treasures too.

Sweep the feathers city by city using that breakdown rather than an external checklist.

Synchronise all viewpoints and clear the treasures as you go.

This is the longest stretch of the platinum. One soft mention of DamnModz fits here at most.

4

Phase 4: Show your Colors and the platinum

Wear the Auditore cape in each city. At 6.1 percent it is the rarest trophy and usually the last one earned.

Mop up any remaining miscellaneous trophies in free roam, which stays available after the story.

If you want a second platinum, the other version of the game has a separate list that stacks.

Guide notes

No Multiplayer, No Server Risk

Assassin's Creed II has no multiplayer component at all, so there are no online trophies and no shutdown history. Brotherhood and Revelations both lost their PS3 platinums when Ubisoft closed those servers, and this game never had that exposure.

Efficient route

Fly Swatter Has One Window

Kick a guard while flying Leonardo's flying machine. On the PS4 Ezio Collection that means Sequence 8 only. On PS3 with the DLC there is a second window in Sequence 12, but PS3 players without the DLC skip Sequences 12 and 13 entirely and go straight to 14, leaving Sequence 8 as the only chance. Story sequences are not replayable, which is what makes it genuinely missable.

1

How to Actually Get It

Hold the movement button and fly toward a guard. Ezio locks on and kicks as he passes. The first set of archers is the best target since they are out in the open. If you reach the end of the flight without it, deliberately crash into a building or the ground, which restarts the flying sequence rather than ending it.

Efficient route

Use the DNA Tab for Feathers

The pause menu DNA tab shows exactly which cities, and which districts within them, still have feathers outstanding. It works for viewpoints and treasures too.

1

Do Not Start Collecting Feathers Too Early

Some guides advise leaving them until later so you do not lose track of which you have taken. With the DNA tab that concern largely disappears, but the advice still holds for anyone playing without it.

2

Show Your Colors Lands Last

Wearing the Auditore cape in each city is the rarest trophy at 6.1 percent and is typically the final one.

Efficient route

The Stronghold and Renovations

Villa Auditore upgrades feed several trophies including the full renovation of Florence and buying paintings in Florence and Venice. Group these, since the money loop drives them all.

1

Assassin's Tombs and Glyphs

Six Assassin's Tombs plus the glyph puzzles for A Piece of the Puzzle. Both are optional content that several trophies depend on.

2

PS3 and PS4 Button Differences

Some guides note that certain button functions are inverted between the two versions, so a PS4-written guide can mislead a PS3 player. One line covers it.

3

Part of the Ezio Collection

Anyone playing the collection is doing all three games, 149 achievements across roughly 100 to 120 hours with only three missables in total. Cross-link our Brotherhood and Revelations pages, and note that both of those have a dead PS3 platinum.

Guide notes

Assassin's Creed 2 Missable, Glitched, and Difficulty Notes

  • One missable trophy, Fly Swatter, for kicking a guard while flying Leonardo's flying machine. Story sequences are not replayable, which is what makes it missable.
  • On the PS4 Ezio Collection the only window is Sequence 8. On PS3 with the DLC there is a second window in Sequence 12.
  • PS3 players without the DLC skip Sequences 12 and 13 entirely and go straight to Sequence 14, leaving Sequence 8 as the single chance.
  • If the flight is ending without the kick, crash deliberately into a building or the ground to restart the flying sequence.
  • There are no online trophies at all, since Assassin's Creed II has no multiplayer, so there is no server dependency.
  • There is no difficulty setting, so nothing is difficulty gated.
  • Show your Colors, wearing the Auditore cape in each city, is the rarest at 6.1 percent and typically the last trophy earned.
  • PS3 and PS4 lists are separate and stack, though some button functions are inverted between versions so guides can mislead across platforms.

Quick answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Assassin's Creed II have online trophies?

No. There is no multiplayer at all, so no trophy depends on servers. That is worth knowing because Brotherhood and Revelations both lost their PS3 platinums when Ubisoft closed those servers.

Which Assassin's Creed II trophy is missable?

Fly Swatter, for kicking a guard while flying Leonardo's flying machine. On the PS4 Ezio Collection your only window is Sequence 8, since story sequences cannot be replayed.

How do you get the Fly Swatter trophy?

Hold the movement button and fly toward a guard so Ezio locks on and kicks him. The first set of archers is easiest. If the flight is ending, crash deliberately to restart the flying sequence.

How long does it take to platinum Assassin's Creed II?

Around 30 hours across one playthrough plus free roam cleanup. Difficulty is roughly 3 to 4 out of 10.

How do you track feathers in Assassin's Creed II?

Open the pause menu and go to the DNA tab. It shows exactly which cities, and which districts within them, still have feathers outstanding, and it works for viewpoints and treasures too.

What is the rarest trophy in Assassin's Creed II?

Show your Colors, for wearing the Auditore cape in each city, at roughly 6.1 percent. It is usually the last trophy players earn.

Do Assassin's Creed II trophies stack across versions?

Yes. The PS3 original and the PS4 Ezio Collection have separate lists, so both platinums are available.

Do you need the DLC for the Assassin's Creed II platinum?

Not on the PS4 Ezio Collection, where it is included. On PS3 without the DLC you skip Sequences 12 and 13, which removes your second window for Fly Swatter.
