Astro's Playroom Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap

Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Astro's Playroom Platinum cleanup efficient.

1

Phase 1: Play all 16 levels and collect as you go

The game is 4 worlds of 4 levels each, plus the CPU Plaza and PS Labo hub areas. Nothing is missable, level select from the map lets you return to anything.

Collect artefacts and puzzle pieces together on your first pass through each level so you are not replaying levels twice.

Each sub-level holds 2 artefacts and 4 puzzle pieces, which makes progress easy to audit as you go.

Start with Cooling Springs, it is the gentlest introduction.

2

Phase 2: The Gatcha machine and the PS Labo mural

Head to the PS Labo hub and use the power button at the back of the stage to reveal the Gatcha machine.

28 of the 96 puzzle pieces come from the Gatcha machine rather than from levels. Readers who do not know this conclude their game is bugged.

Take everything out of the slot machine while you are here for the miscellaneous trophies.

The puzzle pieces build a mural on the Labo walls, which is a useful visual progress check.

3

Phase 3: The bonus stage and the platinum

With all 4 worlds finished, a fifth secret level opens on the ground floor of CPU Plaza. Complete it and the credits roll.

After the credits one more short level awards the New Generation artefacts, the DualSense, HD Camera, Pulse 3D Headset and the PS5.

Sweep any remaining collectibles by level select. The platinum lands here for most players, at around 5 hours.

4

Phase 4: The added trophies, for 100 percent only

Not required for the platinum. Lead with that so nobody thinks the speedrun is mandatory.

These are free and require no download despite the DLC label, but they do need the main game finished first.

Gravity Daze needs 10 bots collected around CPU Plaza and the Glass Dome beaten. Quick.

Run Astro Run needs all 8 speedrun levels at a cumulative 7 minutes or under. This is the only genuinely hard trophy in the game, and the rolling ball level is where most attempts fail. Give per-level target times.

Guide notes

Platinum vs 100 Percent

Placed right after the Quick Info box. The platinum is a 2 out of 10 in around 5 hours. The added trophies, including the genuinely hard Run Astro Run speedrun, sit outside it.

Guide notes

Where the Last Puzzle Pieces Are

96 puzzle pieces total, but 28 come from the Gatcha machine in the PS Labo hub rather than from level exploration. Step on the large power button at the back of the Labo stage to reveal it. This is the most common dead end on this game.

Efficient route

All 46 Artefacts

Per world, plus the 4 New Generation artefacts from the bonus stage after the credits, the DualSense, HD Camera, Pulse 3D Headset and the PS5 itself.

1

The Bonus Stage After the Credits

Complete all 4 main worlds, then a fifth secret level opens through the ground floor of CPU Plaza. Beat it and the credits roll, then one more level awards the final artefacts.

Efficient route

Run Astro Run, the One Hard Trophy

8 speedrun levels with a cumulative total of 7 minutes or under. Not required for the platinum. Give per-level target times and flag the rolling ball level as the one that ruins runs.

1

Gravity Daze and the Special Bots

Collect 10 bots around CPU Plaza and beat the Glass Dome. Part of the free added set, quick once the main game is done.

Guide notes

Astro's Playroom Missable, Glitched, and Difficulty Notes

  • No missable trophies. Level select from the map means every level can be replayed as often as needed.
  • No glitched trophies reported, and no online trophies at all.
  • There are no difficulty settings and no difficulty-related trophies.
  • The only genuine challenge is Run Astro Run, 8 speedrun levels at a cumulative 7 minutes or under, and it is not required for the platinum.
  • The added trophies need the main game completed first, but they are free and require no separate download despite the DLC label.
  • The most common false alarm is the last puzzle pieces. 28 of the 96 come from the Gatcha machine in PS Labo, not from levels, so players who have swept every level still come up short.

Quick answers

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to platinum Astro's Playroom?

Around 5 to 7 hours. The game itself is roughly 3 hours long and the rest is collectible cleanup through level select.

Is Astro's Playroom a good first platinum?

Yes, and it is the usual recommendation. It is free on every PS5, it is a 2 out of 10, nothing is missable, and there are no online or difficulty requirements.

Are there missable trophies in Astro's Playroom?

None. Level select lets you replay any level at any time, so nothing can be permanently missed.

Where are the last puzzle pieces in Astro's Playroom?

In the Gatcha machine. 28 of the 96 puzzle pieces come from it rather than from levels. Step on the large power button at the back of the PS Labo stage to reveal it.

Do you need Run Astro Run for the platinum?

No. The speedrun trophy is part of the free added set and sits outside the platinum. It is also the only genuinely difficult trophy in the game.

How do you get Run Astro Run in Astro's Playroom?

Complete all 8 speedrun levels with a cumulative total of 7 minutes or under. The rolling ball level is the one that ends most attempts, so practise that first.

How many trophies does Astro's Playroom have?

Reported as 43 at launch and 46 once the free added trophies are included. Confirm both against the live PSN list, since competitor sites disagree.

Is Astro's Playroom the same as Astro Bot?

No. Astro Bot is the 2024 retail game with its own separate trophy list. Astro's Playroom is the free pre-installed PS5 title, and Rescue Mission is a third, PSVR game.
