Batman: Arkham Origins Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Batman: Arkham Origins Platinum cleanup efficient.
Phase 0: Understand what you can still get
The platinum is unobtainable because the multiplayer trophies can no longer be earned.
Ignore the widely cited 4 December 2016 date. That was a PC only shutdown and PS3 servers ran until 2023.
Everything on the single player side remains fully obtainable, so this is a dead platinum rather than a dead game.
If you have the patch installed, consider the DLC glitch below before doing anything else.
Phase 1: Normal difficulty and the two missables
Play the campaign on Normal or Hard, since one of those is required to unlock New Game Plus.
Take Point Counter-Point and Silent Knight during this run. They are the only two single player missables.
Destroy the towers in each district, which opens fast travel and reveals the Network Relay locations.
Shut down a tower then destroy all 10 relays in that area, one batarang each.
Phase 2: New Game Plus and I Am the Night
Start New Game Plus. Side missions are not required here, unlike Arkham City.
After New Game Plus you unlock I Am the Night, which gives you one life.
Back up your saves regularly and restart from checkpoint whenever death looks likely, rather than treating it as a true one life run.
Phase 3: The 288 challenge medals
Collect all 288 medals, split as 72 Ranked Maps, 108 campaigns, 72 custom challenges and 36 Combat Training.
For Predator Paragon, remember that any takedown ending in a knockout smash counts only as a knockout smash, so tick off each takedown type before finishing.
The same applies to gadgets. An ultrasonic batarang will not count if you have already used explosive gel.
Verify the Shadow Vigilante level 15 requirement, since a player reports earning it without meeting the multiplier condition.
Phase 4: The DLC glitch, and what is left
With the patch installed, delete it, then get 3 medals in a training challenge to unlock both Initiation DLC trophies without owning the DLC.
If you have already done all the training challenges, replaying any one has the same effect.
There is no final step to a platinum here, so set that expectation clearly in the closing section.
Carry no commercial mention on this page, since the platinum cannot be earned or provided.
Guide notes
The Platinum Is Dead, and the Usual Date Is Wrong
First section after the Quick Info box. The multiplayer trophies can no longer be earned, so the platinum is unobtainable. But the date almost everyone repeats, 4 December 2016, was a PC only shutdown. A March 2020 comment confirms the servers were still working on PS3 at that point.
Guide notes
What Actually Happened to the Servers
The real sequence is unusual enough to tell properly. In March 2023 someone at the developer apparently discovered that part of the online infrastructure was still running years later and shut it down. Weeks later it was back, because a member of the community contacted a developer who turned the servers back on. They then closed permanently, dated July 2023 by one source and August 2023 by another. Publish the sequence, since it is why three different closure dates circulate.
Guide notes
Everything Else Still Works
This is a dead platinum rather than a dead game. All the single player content remains fully obtainable, including the campaign, New Game Plus, I Am the Night, the 288 challenge medals and the DLC trophies.
Guide notes
The DLC Glitch
Genuinely useful and still applicable since it does not involve the servers. Provided you have the patch installed, delete it, and then upon getting 3 medals in a training challenge you will unlock BOTH Initiation DLC trophies whether or not you own the DLC. If you have already completed all the training challenges, replaying any one of them has the same effect. Two trophies without buying the DLC is worth its own section.
Guide notes
The Two Single Player Missables
Point Counter-Point and Silent Knight, both taken during the Normal difficulty playthrough. Since New Game Plus requires completing the game on Normal or Hard first, your opening run is where these need catching.
Guide notes
I Am the Night
Unlocked after New Game Plus and giving you a single life. The practical approach is regular save backups and restarting from checkpoint whenever it looks like you will die, rather than treating it as a genuine one life run. Note that side missions are NOT required in New Game Plus, unlike Arkham City, which is a meaningful reduction.
Guide notes
Predator Paragon Overwrites Itself
The most useful mechanical correction available. Any takedown that ends in a knockout smash counts only as a knockout smash, regardless of whether it was a silent, ledge or corner takedown, so you must hold off finishing until each takedown type has been ticked off individually. The same applies to gadgets, an ultrasonic batarang will not count if you have already used explosive gel and vice versa. Without this the challenge is repeatedly failed for no visible reason.
Efficient route
The 288 Challenge Medals
Split as 72 for Ranked Maps, 108 for campaigns, 72 for custom challenges and 36 for Combat Training. This is the largest single player time block and it remains fully obtainable.
Two Guide Corrections
The commonly used guide lists the glue grenade inputs for One of Each as L2 L2 when they are R2 R2. And a commenter questions whether the Shadow Vigilante level 15 requirement is understood correctly, having earned it without reaching a 50 multiplier and with a variation of only 5, the only criterion met being not getting hit. Verify that requirement before publishing it.
The Buggiest Game in the Series
Widely described as such, with more problematic combat camera angles than its predecessors.
Network Relays
Shut down a tower in a district, then destroy all 10 Network Relay stations in that area, one batarang each. Destroying towers also opens fast travel points and reveals the relay locations on the map.

Quick answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you still get the Batman: Arkham Origins platinum?
No. The multiplayer trophies can no longer be earned, so the platinum is unobtainable. Everything on the single player side still works though, so the game is not a write-off.
When did the Arkham Origins servers actually shut down?
Not in 2016, despite that being the date most often cited. That shutdown was PC only and PS3 servers were still working in 2020. The final closure was around July or August 2023.
Were the Arkham Origins servers really turned back on?
Yes, briefly. They were shut down in March 2023, then a community member contacted a developer who switched them back on weeks later, before they closed permanently later that year.
Which Arkham Origins trophies are still obtainable?
Everything except the multiplayer ones. The campaign, New Game Plus, I Am the Night, all 288 challenge medals and the DLC trophies all remain fully earnable.
How do you get the Initiation DLC trophies without the DLC?
With the patch installed, delete it, then earn 3 medals in a training challenge and both Initiation trophies unlock. If you have already completed all the training challenges, replaying any one works too.
Why does Predator Paragon keep failing?
Because any takedown ending in a knockout smash counts only as a knockout smash, overwriting its own category. Hold off finishing until each takedown type is ticked off, and the same applies to overlapping gadgets.
How many challenge medals are in Arkham Origins?
288 in total, split as 72 for Ranked Maps, 108 for campaigns, 72 for custom challenges and 36 for Combat Training. All of them remain obtainable.
Is I Am the Night really one life?
Yes, but you can back up saves and restart from checkpoint whenever death looks likely, so it does not have to be attempted as a genuine single life run.
