Alan Wake Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Alan Wake Platinum cleanup efficient.
Phase 1: First run on Easy or Normal, full collectible sweep
Decide your thermos and can pyramid plan first. They do not respawn, so either sweep all 100 thermoses and knock over 5 pyramids on this run, or leave them entirely for Nightmare.
Collect everything else as you go, 25 signs, 30 hidden chests, 12 radio shows, all TV shows and the standard manuscript pages.
Work the episode-ordered missable list, the jukebox in Episodes 1 and 5, the 30 minute Cauldron Lake lookout run in Episode 3, Hartman's recordings and the TV in Episode 4, surviving the town sequence in Episode 5, and the no-bullet run in Episode 6.
Bank the combat trophies here, 50 Taken with the hunting rifle, four Taken with one flare, and the bird burning which can be cheesed at the end of Episode 2 then reset from checkpoint.
Back up your save before using episode select for anything, because jumping to an early chapter can wipe progress.
Phase 2: The Nightmare run
Nightmare is now unlocked. Difficulty trophies stack upward, so this awards the lower difficulty trophies too.
The only genuinely new content is the 15 Nightmare-only manuscript pages. Follow a Nightmare-specific page route rather than a general collectible guide.
Skip unnecessary encounters and conserve ammo. You already know the layout, which is what makes this run far easier than the rating suggests.
Anything that killed you can simply be retried from the checkpoint.
This run plus the collectible sweep is where a soft mention of DamnModz fits, once, then back to routing.
Phase 3: Cleanup and the platinum
Use episode select for anything outstanding, backing up your save first.
If a collectible count looks wrong, pick up another item of that type. The stats screen mistracks and corrects itself.
The platinum should land here at around 20 hours.
Phase 4: The Signal and The Writer
Both DLC episodes are included and each is under an hour once you know the route.
The Signal needs two runs, because one trophy requires completing it with no deaths and no checkpoint reloads.
Fast and Furious needs the final boss beaten in under 90 seconds. Save your flare gun ammo for it, because failing means replaying the whole DLC.
Shine your torch on all 100 furnace doors in the church basement, and shine it on the word friend after the second manuscript page to find Barry.
Guide notes
Do Not Pick Up Thermoses or Can Pyramids Early
First section after the Quick Info box. Every collectible in this game reappears on a second playthrough except Coffee Thermoses and Can Pyramids. If you take a thermos or knock over a pyramid on run one, it will not be there on your Nightmare run. So either collect all 100 thermoses and the pyramids properly on run one, or deliberately leave them alone. Following a collectible guide on the Nightmare run without knowing this produces empty locations and wasted hours.
Guide notes
Episode Select Can Wipe Your Progress
Placed above the roadmap. Jumping to an early chapter from the main menu can erase your progress from that point onward. Back up your save to cloud or USB before using episode select for cleanup. This is the one genuinely destructive action available in an otherwise forgiving game.
Guide notes
Nightmare Requires a Prior Completion
Nightmare only unlocks after finishing the game once on Easy or Normal. Importantly you can do the full collectible sweep on Easy, get the Normal-mode manuscript trophy, and still earn everything, since difficulty trophies stack upward. Enemies hit harder and need more light on Nightmare, but ammo and batteries stay plentiful and you already know which encounters to skip.
Guide notes
The 15 Nightmare-Only Manuscript Pages
Fifteen pages appear only on Nightmare difficulty and look identical to normal pages in game.
Guide notes
Every Missable in Episode Order
Episode 1 and 5, use the jukebox in both. Episode 3, reach the Cauldron Lake lookout within 30 minutes, timed from the phone call on entering the Old Mill. Episode 4, listen to Hartman's recordings and use the TV during the chase. Episode 5, survive the Bright Falls town sequence without dying. Episode 6, reach Cauldron Lake from the dam without firing a single bullet.

The Full Collectible Spread
, an H3 per type. 100 Coffee Thermoses, 12 Can Pyramids with 5 needed knocked over, 25 signs and points of interest, 30 hidden supply chests, 12 radio shows, all TV shows, and the manuscript pages.
The Stats Screen Mistracks
Item counts sometimes display wrong, usually after a death, and self-correct once you pick up another item of that type. Not a glitch and not a lost collectible.
Efficient route
The Signal and The Writer DLC
Both included. The Signal needs two runs for 100 percent, since one trophy requires completing it without dying and without reloading a checkpoint. Fast and Furious is effectively missable, needing the final boss beaten in under 90 seconds, and failing it means replaying the whole DLC. Also covers shining your torch on all 100 furnace doors in the church basement.
Not Alan Wake 2
A separate PS5 game with its own list and very different structure. Cross-link both ways.

Guide notes
Alan Wake Missable, Glitched, and Difficulty Notes
- Nothing is strictly missable, because episode select lets you return to any chapter. Many trophies are tagged missable only because chapters are long and retracing takes time.
- The real trap is not a trophy. Coffee Thermoses and Can Pyramids do not reappear on a second playthrough, unlike every other collectible, so taking them early breaks a Nightmare collectible route.
- Using episode select to jump to an early chapter can wipe your progress from that point. Back up your save before doing it.
- Nightmare only unlocks after completing the game once on Easy or Normal, and difficulty trophies stack upward so the Nightmare run awards the lower ones.
- 15 manuscript pages appear only on Nightmare and are indistinguishable from normal pages in game.
- The stats screen sometimes mistracks item counts, usually after a death, and corrects itself when you pick up another item of that type.
- In The Signal, Fast and Furious is effectively missable. It needs the final boss beaten in under 90 seconds and failing means replaying the whole DLC.
- The Signal requires two runs for 100 percent, because one trophy needs a completion with no deaths and no checkpoint reloads.
Quick answers
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to platinum Alan Wake Remastered?
Around 24 hours for full 100 percent including both DLC episodes. The platinum itself lands closer to 20 hours across two playthroughs.
Which Alan Wake collectibles do not respawn?
Coffee Thermoses and Can Pyramids. Every other collectible reappears on a second playthrough, so if you take those two types early they will be missing from your Nightmare run.
Do you need to play Nightmare difficulty in Alan Wake?
Yes, for two reasons. There is a Nightmare completion trophy, and 15 manuscript pages only appear on that difficulty. Nightmare unlocks after finishing the game once on Easy or Normal.
Are there missable trophies in Alan Wake Remastered?
Nothing strictly, since episode select lets you replay any chapter. Several are tagged missable simply because chapters are long and going back takes time.
Can episode select delete my progress in Alan Wake?
It can. Jumping to an early chapter has been reported to wipe progress from that point onward, so back up your save to cloud or USB before using it.
Why is my Alan Wake collectible count wrong?
The stats screen mistracks items, usually after a death, and corrects itself once you pick up another item of that type. You have not lost anything.
What is the hardest trophy in Alan Wake Remastered?
Collector's Edition, for every manuscript page in the game, at roughly 2.2 percent of players. The difficulty is thoroughness across two playthroughs rather than skill.
Is Alan Wake Remastered the same as Alan Wake 2?
No. Alan Wake 2 is a separate PS5 game with its own trophy list, no difficulty trophies and a completely different structure.
