Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Trophy Guide and Platinum Walkthrough

This Final Fantasy VII Rebirth trophy guide covers all 61 trophies, the fastest practical Platinum route, every major completion requirement, and the June 2026 Streamlined Progression options.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth sits at the demanding end of the PlayStation trophy guide library because the Platinum requires almost every major side activity. You need all World Intel, all side quests, all Chadley simulations, every Hard Mode chapter, the relevant collectibles, and the highest required scores in most minigames.

The June 2026 update makes the combat side far easier through optional progression settings. It does not remove the long completion sweep, chapter replays, piano songs, 3D Brawler patterns, or every non-combat minigame requirement.

Efficient route

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Trophy Guide: Platinum Roadmap

1

Phase 1: Finish the Story and Build Good Trophy Habits

Complete the 14 chapters on Easy, Normal, or Dynamic. Difficulty does not matter during the first run, so choose Easy if your priority is speed.

Equip Assess Materia and scan new enemies whenever practical. Chadley simulations unlock through regional enemy encounters, World Intel, side quests, classified foes, and assessment progress. Missing a few scans is recoverable, but assessing consistently prevents a confusing post-story search.

Use every new weapon ability until its proficiency bar is complete. There are 49 weapons across the party, and Well-Rounded requires every weapon ability plus the relevant folio skills and limit breaks. Mastering abilities as each weapon arrives is much faster than processing the entire collection at the end.

Complete nearby World Intel and side quests when they fit your route, but do not force every high score immediately. Chapter 13 remains open for regional cleanup, and Chapter Select unlocks after the ending.

Earn A Materia World before enabling the Max Materia Levels option in Streamlined Progression. That trophy needs a materia orb to gain a level naturally, so instantly maximizing every orb can remove the level-up event it checks.

Make manual saves before these chapter-specific sections:

  • The Junon parade in Chapter 4
  • The Queen's Blood tournament in Chapter 5
  • Loveless in Chapter 12
  • The final Gold Saucer side quest and its minigames

The time commitment is comparable to Persona 5, although Rebirth replaces calendar planning with regional completion, minigame scores, and advanced combat trials.

2

Phase 2: Use Chapter 13 for Open-World Completion

After the credits, choose Chapter 13 through Chapter Select and retain your current quest data. This restores access to the full regional map and is the best point for the main cleanup.

Finish all 169 World Intel locations, all 36 side quests, every regional protorelic chain, all seven Moogle Intel activities, the required weapons, and the activities tied to Johnny's Treasure Trove. Complete Gilgamesh Island after finishing the six regional protorelic chains.

Develop every available materia with Chadley after all World Intel is complete. Materia Completionist requires every purchasable copy, not only one copy of each materia type. Keep buying until Chadley's development menu has nothing left.

Work through Gold Saucer content, all 20 chocobo races, all 32 Musclehead Colosseum bouts, the first six piano songs at A rank, and the remaining minigame high scores. The 7-Star Hotel requirement is effectively an in-game completion museum, so Johnny's list is your most useful final checklist.

3

Phase 3: Complete Chadley's Combat Simulations

Finish the standard, summon, Brutal, and Legendary simulations after their prerequisites unlock. Virtually Renowned requires every simulation, including the late fights tied to Gilgamesh, regional enemies, classified intel, the story, and the Corsair's Compass.

With Streamlined Progression, enable Constant Max HP, Constant Max MP, full ATB, full Limit, full Synergy, and 9,999 damage. These options remove most of the execution and resource pressure from the combat simulations while leaving trophies active.

Without the progression options, build complete materia sets rather than relying on one universal loadout. Elemental weaknesses, status resistance, party restrictions, and multi-round endurance vary between simulations. Rulers of the Outer Worlds is especially useful because its reward, Gotterdammerung, can simplify the Hard Mode replay.

4

Phase 4: Complete All 14 Chapters on Hard Mode

Hard Mode unlocks after the first story completion. Replay every chapter on Hard and finish each one to earn Of Hardy Stock.

You can skip optional side quests, World Intel, and most exploration during this run. Use chapter completion icons to confirm that all 14 chapters have registered on Hard.

Without Streamlined Progression, items are disabled and benches normally restore HP but not MP. Link MP Absorption to your main attacking element, conserve high-cost magic during normal encounters, and use Prayer or Chakra for healing when possible. Magnify with Healing or Barrier remains useful for party-wide recovery and protection.

With Streamlined Progression, Constant Max HP and MP remove the usual Hard Mode resource rules. Full ATB, Limit, and Synergy gauges also let you end most encounters before enemy mechanics become dangerous.

5

Phase 5: Finish Johnny's Treasure Trove and Final Cleanup

Use Johnny's Treasure Trove at the Seaside Inn as the final master checklist. The 88 items cover side quests, minigames, combat simulations, regional challenges, chapter-specific performances, and other completion milestones.

Finish any remaining weapon proficiencies, folio unlocks, level 70 progress, 300% stagger damage, piano ranks, and 3D Brawler opponents. Speak to Johnny after all 88 items are registered to unlock 7-Star Hotel.

The Planet's Hope unlocks after the other 60 trophies are complete.

Guide notes

Streamlined Progression and Trophy Safety

The June 2026 PS5 update added individual settings that can maintain maximum HP, MP, ATB, Limit, and Synergy gauges. It can also force 9,999 damage in combat and supported minigames, increase EXP and AP gains, speed up weapon proficiency, increase gathered materials, and maintain maximum gil or recovery items.

These settings can be toggled individually and generally do not disable trophies. New Game - Head Start also begins the party at level 65 with enhanced equipment and materia, which can shorten the early leveling and setup process.

The important exception is Max Materia Levels. A Materia World only unlocks when an orb gains a level. Earn that Bronze trophy naturally before activating Max Materia Levels. Once the option maximizes materia, disabling it does not return those materia to their previous levels.

A safe order is:

  1. Start the game normally or with New Game - Head Start.
  2. Equip at least one materia that can still gain AP.
  3. Win battles until A Materia World unlocks.
  4. Enable any Streamlined Progression settings you want.
  5. Leave Max Materia Levels off until the trophy has appeared on your PSN profile.

Streamlined Progression cuts both difficulty and grinding. The 9,999 damage settings make Hard Mode, arena fights, and combat simulations much faster, but you still need the full regional sweep, chapter replays, Johnny's 88 items, piano A ranks, races, performances, and other completion tasks.

Guide notes

Missable Trophies in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

There are no permanently missable trophies. Finishing the story unlocks Chapter Select, and selecting Chapter 13 restores access to the open world, side quests, World Intel, merchants, minigames, and regional collectibles.

Four trophies are tied to linear story events and are easier to treat as semi-missable during the first run:

  • 7th, Assemble! in Chapter 4
  • Stealing the Show in Chapter 4
  • Card Royalty in Chapter 5
  • Critically Acclaimed in Chapter 12

Missing any of them only adds a chapter replay. Make a separate save before each event so you can retry immediately instead of replaying the full chapter.

Johnny's Treasure Trove also requires some alternate chapter-specific results, including additional Loveless performances. Chapter Select carries unlocked treasure items between chapters, so you can move between the required scenes and return to Chapter 13 afterward.

When choosing quest data through Chapter Select, retain your current completed quest state for normal cleanup. Only reset or restore quest data when you specifically need a different side quest state or relationship outcome.

Guide notes

Does Difficulty Affect Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Trophies?

Yes. Of Hardy Stock requires all 14 chapters on Hard Mode, which only unlocks after completing the story once on any difficulty.

Your first playthrough can be completed on Easy. You do not need Dynamic or Normal difficulty for any trophy. Hard Mode completion is tracked chapter by chapter, so chapters can be tackled in any order after the story.

Optional content does not need to be repeated on Hard for Of Hardy Stock. You can focus on required story objectives, skip cinematics, and ignore most regional activities during the second run.

The standard Hard Mode rules disable items, strengthen enemies, and prevent benches from restoring MP. Streamlined Progression can override the main resource pressure through constant HP and MP, which turns the replay into a much faster chapter clear.

Without those settings, the Hard Mode route has more in common with God of War Ragnarok than a traditional turn-based JRPG because defensive timing, stagger windows, resource planning, and boss-specific loadouts all matter.

Guide notes

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Collectibles and Completion Requirements

The Platinum does not require a literal 100% save file, but it comes close. Johnny's Treasure Trove combines many of the game's systems into one 88-item checklist.

You do not need every cache, every chocobo stop, every manuscript, every Queen's Blood card, or S ranks on the piano songs. You only need one completed cache, three repaired chocobo stops, the trophy-relevant folio unlocks, the required Queen's Blood events, and A ranks on the first six piano songs.

The 88 Johnny items still demand the top required score in most other minigames, including their harder variants where listed. Use the Treasure Trove display to identify the exact activity attached to each missing item.

Guide notes

Best Build and General Tips for the Platinum

Streamlined Progression Route

Enable only the options that solve your current bottleneck. Constant Max HP and MP are enough for safe Hard Mode progress, while full ATB, Limit, and Synergy gauges make bosses and simulations much faster.

Constant Max Damage is the strongest combat option because normal attacks, abilities, and spells deal 9,999 damage. Max Damage: Minigames helps activities that calculate direct damage, but it does not automatically solve rhythm timing, racing lines, card strategy, or every performance score.

Use Easy Weapon Ability Acquisition while rotating through the 49 weapons. Most proficiencies then complete after one correct use of the associated ability, which cuts a large cleanup grind.

The 2x EXP and 3x AP option speeds up level 70 and materia growth. Keep Max Materia Levels disabled until A Materia World unlocks.

Standard Route Without Boosters

Build several copies of core materia so the whole party can function during restricted simulations and Hard Mode bosses. The most useful options include:

  • HP Up and MP Up for basic survival and spell capacity
  • Revival on more than one character
  • Healing linked with Magnify for party recovery
  • Barrier linked with Magnify for difficult boss phases
  • Prayer and Chakra for healing without MP
  • Precision Defense Focus and Steadfast Block for safer guarding
  • Elemental linked to the relevant attack materia in armor or weapons
  • MP Absorption linked to a frequently used offensive spell
  • First Strike and ATB Boost for faster opening actions

Aerith's Arcane Ward lets a spell cast twice when used inside it. Pairing the ward with a high-magic character and an enemy weakness is one of the safest ways to control difficult encounters.

Tifa is the easiest character for Staggering Success. Use Unbridled Strength before the stagger, then apply Omnistrike and further stagger-raising attacks until the multiplier reaches 300%.

Minigame and Chapter Select Tips

Finish each minigame's easier version before attempting its advanced score. Many later challenges reuse the same timing, track, enemy tell, or scoring rule at a faster pace.

Keep a manual save before chapter-only activities. The game provides multiple manual slots, so rotate them rather than relying on one autosave.

For Queen's Blood, control central spaces early and use replacement cards only after the board is developed. You do not need every card, but completing ranked matches provides stronger options for the tournament and later side content.

For chocobo racing, prioritize clean lines and boost timing over risky shortcuts. The Gold Cup becomes manageable once you know where each course places hazards and stamina pickups.

Guide notes

Hardest Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Trophies and How to Get Them

7-Star Hotel

7-Star Hotel is the longest trophy because it requires all 88 Johnny treasure items. The list includes all side quests, major minigame high scores, regional tasks, chapter-specific performances, and every Chadley combat simulation.

Treat the Treasure Trove as a checklist rather than trying to remember missing activities. Finish the large categories first, then inspect individual empty displays for the exact remaining requirement.

Streamlined Progression removes most combat difficulty, but it does not bypass the completion structure. Piano, racing, 3D Brawler, Queen's Blood, and performance-based activities still need their own mechanics.

Piano Virtuoso

Piano Virtuoso requires A rank on the first six Piano Outreach songs, followed by collecting each reward from Dorian. The seventh and eighth sheets are not required for this Bronze trophy.

Test note speeds until the rings reach the target at a rhythm you can read. Many players find a slightly faster setting easier because it reduces screen clutter. Focus on accuracy instead of chasing S rank, since a small number of Good or missed notes can still leave enough score for A rank.

Practice one hand's patterns before trying to read both sides equally. Stable controller positioning and audio through headphones can also make the timing easier to judge.

Polygonal Prizefighter

Sephiroth is the final 3D Brawler opponent and uses several visually similar attacks. The reliable method is to learn whether each tell leads to a straight, hook, or uppercut, then dodge with the correct stick direction.

Pause buffering reduces the reaction requirement. Pause as Sephiroth begins an attack animation, inspect the arm position, choose the matching dodge, then unpause and input it. Attack only during the clear punish window after his sequence ends.

Virtually Renowned and Of Hardy Stock

These are the main difficulty trophies without Streamlined Progression. Virtually Renowned includes the Brutal and Legendary simulations, while Of Hardy Stock asks for every chapter on Hard.

Complete World Intel, side quests, Gilgamesh, weapon proficiencies, and materia preparation before treating either as the final step. Alternate between the two routes if one becomes a wall. Hard chapters award manuscripts and skill points, while late simulations provide equipment that can improve the Hard Mode run.

Without the June 2026 progression options, the late VR trials can feel closer to Elden Ring than most story-led JRPG trophy lists. With the options enabled, piano timing and non-combat minigames become the more meaningful skill checks.

Guide notes

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth DLC Trophies

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has no DLC trophy pack. The complete PS5 list remains the 61 base trophies, and no post-launch story DLC is required for The Planet's Hope.

Quick answers

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to Platinum Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?

An optimized Streamlined Progression route can take about 60-80 hours. Without the assistance options, estimates start around 100-120 hours, while slower first-time completionist runs can reach 150-200 hours.

How hard is the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Platinum?

It is about 3-4/10 with Streamlined Progression and 7-8/10 without it. The update trivializes most combat, but the full completion sweep and several timing-based minigames remain.

How many trophies are in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?

There are 61 PS5 trophies: 54 Bronze, 5 Silver, 1 Gold, and 1 Platinum.

Are there missable trophies in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?

No trophy is permanently missable. Chapter Select and Chapter 13 free roam let you recover every story event, side activity, and collectible needed for the Platinum.

Does difficulty affect trophies in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?

Yes. You must finish all 14 chapters on Hard Mode after unlocking it through an initial story completion.

How many playthroughs are needed for the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Platinum?

Two story runs are required. The first unlocks Hard Mode, and the second completes all 14 chapters on Hard through Chapter Select.

Do Streamlined Progression settings disable trophies?

The settings generally leave trophies active. Earn A Materia World before enabling Max Materia Levels because that option can prevent a materia orb from registering a natural level-up event.

What is the hardest trophy in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?

7-Star Hotel is the longest and broadest requirement because it needs all 88 Johnny items. With Streamlined Progression enabled, Piano Virtuoso may be the hardest remaining mechanical challenge.

Do you need 100% completion for the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Platinum?

You need nearly every major activity, but not a literal 100% save. Full cache completion, every chocobo stop, every manuscript, every Queen's Blood card, and S ranks on piano songs are not required.

Are there online trophies in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?

No. All 61 trophies can be earned offline in the single-player game.

Are there DLC trophies in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?

No. There is no separate DLC trophy list, and the base 61 trophies are the complete PS5 set.

Is there a PS4-to-PS5 autopop for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?

No. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has no PS4 version or PS4 trophy list, so there is no PS4 save transfer or autopop route.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a long Platinum, but the route becomes manageable once the story, regional cleanup, Hard Mode, and Johnny items are treated as separate phases. Players who prefer account-specific support for the remaining grind can use DamnModz PlayStation trophy services while the roadmap above covers every requirement from the first chapter to The Planet's Hope.
