Destiny 2 Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Destiny 2 Platinum cleanup efficient.
Phase 0: Check the live list first
Verify the current trophy list before planning anything. Requirements have been rewritten more than once as content was vaulted.
Note which trophies are Forsaken DLC trophies, since those are not required for the platinum and may be unobtainable.
The game is online only with zero offline trophies, so a constant connection is required throughout.
If you own both PS4 and PS5 versions, plan to log into the second one afterwards for a free autopop platinum.
Phase 1: Three characters and their subclasses
Create a Titan, a Hunter and a Warlock, and acquire all subclasses for each.
Reach level 20, which the introductory content will handle quickly.
Complete the Crucible introduction and the other tutorial-style trophies.
Levelling three characters is a substantial share of the total time, so start it early.
Phase 2: Public events, strikes and seasonal progress
Complete heroic public events by triggering the upgrade condition for each event type rather than hoping one appears.
Complete a Nightfall strike, then work toward the harder difficulty tiers.
Work the seasonal requirements such as Weekly Rewards Rank in the Seasonal Hub, and the Triumph point and seal targets.
Collect the exotic weapon and armour counts the current list requires.
Phase 3: Master and Grandmaster Nightfall
These replaced the original Leviathan raid trophies when that content was vaulted.
Grandmaster is the hardest at roughly 10.9 percent and needs a coordinated fireteam of three. It cannot be soloed.
Master is the tier below and also required.
This is the one part of the list that depends on other players. One soft mention of DamnModz fits here.
Phase 4: The free second platinum
Once you have the platinum on one version, log into the other version for the first time.
All base game and DLC trophies autopop, which is the easiest second platinum available anywhere.
Confirm this still works before relying on it, since like everything else here it is subject to change.
Guide notes
The Platinum Survived Content Deletion, and Here Is Why
First section after the Quick Info box. Bungie has removed whole campaigns from this game, including the Red War launch campaign, Curse of Osiris, Warmind and Forsaken. It did not, because a Sony rule requires any base game to have all its trophies obtainable at all times. That does not apply to DLC trophies, which is why Forsaken trophies sit on the list but are excluded from the platinum. To comply, Bungie has rewritten base game requirements more than once.
Guide notes
The Documented Rewrites
The Trials of the Nine trophy was changed to meeting Xur when that activity was removed. The normal and prestige Leviathan raid trophies were changed to Master and Grandmaster Nightfall respectively. Those rewrites are why the modern list looks nothing like the launch list, and why any guide written before them is misleading.
Guide notes
It Is Online Only
There are zero offline trophies and a constant internet connection is required. Every trophy and the platinum depend on Bungie keeping servers running.
Guide notes
The Free Second Platinum
If you complete either the PS4 or the PS5 version, simply logging into the other version for the first time autopops all base game and DLC trophies. That is the easiest second platinum in our entire cluster, requiring nothing but a login.
Efficient route
Forsaken Trophies Are Not Required
The list includes Forsaken trophies such as collecting Forsaken exotics, defeating a Forsaken Nightfall boss, completing the Last Wish raid and entering the Dreaming City. These are DLC trophies and none are required for the platinum, which is precisely why Sony's rule allowed them to become unobtainable when Forsaken was vaulted. Distinguish them clearly in the trophy table.
The Time It Broke Once
In December 2017 the Curse of Osiris expansion raised the Power cap. Prestige activities moved to Power 330 while base game players remained capped at 300 or 305, which made The Prestige trophy and therefore the platinum unobtainable without buying the expansion. Include it as history, because it shows the rewrites were reactive and explains why the current requirements exist.
Efficient route
Grandmaster Nightfall
The current hardest requirement at roughly 10.9 percent, needing a coordinated fireteam of three. Master difficulty is the tier below and also required. Give matchmaking and fireteam guidance, since this is the one part of the list that cannot be soloed.
The Three Character Classes
You need a Titan, Hunter and Warlock with all their subclasses acquired. That means levelling three characters, which is a large share of the 60 to 80 hours.
Heroic Public Events
Every public event type can be upgraded to heroic by meeting a specific condition. Give an example, such as the Titan weapon cache event where damaging the spidertank makes it drop arc orbs, and unlocking all three heavy weapon caches at two orbs each converts it to heroic, changing the objective from one tank to two.
Not Destiny 1
The original Destiny is a separate game with its own list and its own server situation. Disambiguate briefly.

Destiny 2 Missable, Glitched, and Difficulty Notes
- The platinum is obtainable despite whole campaigns being deleted, because a Sony rule requires base game trophies to remain earnable at all times.
- Bungie has rewritten requirements to comply. The Trials of the Nine trophy became meeting Xur, and the Leviathan normal and prestige raid trophies became Master and Grandmaster Nightfall.
- The Red War launch campaign, Curse of Osiris, Warmind and Forsaken have all been vaulted. Only the Dreaming City survives from Forsaken.
- Forsaken DLC trophies remain on the list but are not required for the platinum, which is why they were permitted to become unobtainable.
- Trophy counts across sources range from 13 to 24 and requirements now reference content that did not exist at launch. Verify the live list before planning.
- The game is online only with zero offline trophies and requires a constant internet connection.
- In December 2017 a Power cap increase made The Prestige trophy and the platinum temporarily unobtainable without buying Curse of Osiris.
- Completing either the PS4 or PS5 version and then logging into the other autopops all base game and DLC trophies.
- Grandmaster Nightfall needs a coordinated fireteam of three and cannot be soloed.
Quick answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you still get the Destiny 2 platinum after content was vaulted?
Yes. A Sony rule requires base game trophies to stay obtainable, so Bungie rewrote the requirements. Trials of the Nine became meeting Xur, and the Leviathan raid trophies became Master and Grandmaster Nightfall.
What content was removed from Destiny 2?
The Red War launch campaign, Curse of Osiris, Warmind and Forsaken have all been vaulted. Only the Dreaming City survives from Forsaken, and only Shadowkeep onwards is playable.
Are Forsaken trophies required for the Destiny 2 platinum?
No. They appear on the list but are DLC trophies, which is exactly why Sony's rule allowed them to become unobtainable when Forsaken was vaulted.
How many trophies does Destiny 2 have?
Sources give 13, 14 and 24, because the list has grown and been rewritten repeatedly. Check the live list rather than any fixed figure, including ours.
Do Destiny 2 trophies autopop between PS4 and PS5?
Yes. If you complete either version, simply logging into the other for the first time autopops all base game and DLC trophies. It is the easiest second platinum available.
Can you play Destiny 2 offline?
No. There are zero offline trophies and a constant internet connection is required, so the entire platinum depends on Bungie's servers.
What is the hardest Destiny 2 trophy?
Grandmaster Nightfall at roughly 10.9 percent. It needs a coordinated fireteam of three and cannot be soloed, and it replaced the original prestige Leviathan raid requirement.
Did the Destiny 2 platinum ever become unobtainable?
Briefly, in December 2017. Curse of Osiris raised the Power cap so Prestige activities required Power 330 while base players were capped at 305, blocking The Prestige trophy until requirements were changed.
