Skull and Bones Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Skull and Bones Platinum cleanup efficient.
Phase 0: Two checks before you commit
Confirm whether Hello World is obtainable. It was blocked at launch because Ubisoft disabled voice chat, and it blocks the platinum.
Understand that the game is online only, so every trophy depends on Ubisoft's servers staying up.
Verify the current trophy count, since as a live service game the list may have grown since launch.
Set PVP disabled on the menu when boarding your ship. No PVP is ever needed and this prevents griefing.
Phase 1: Early progression
Reach Sainte-Anne, build your first ship and equip it with armour.
Talk to 20 interactable NPCs, meet John Scurlock and spyglass or interact with the named locations including La Bastide and Tenina Town.
Use the spyglass constantly to identify the most valuable enemy ships and locate quest targets precisely.
Start gathering jute from the beginning. Skull and Jute needs 10,000 pieces and it is the rarest trophy on the list.
Phase 2: Looting, crafting and the warehouse habit
Loot enemy ships toward the 50,000 silver of item value trophy and finish enemies with crew boarding.
After every trip, dump all valuables into your warehouse. Contents stay accessible from every outpost and remain usable for crafting.
Keep only ammo, some food and repair kits in your hull, so a bad encounter costs you little.
Visit the Shipwright periodically to upgrade. No trophy needs it, but everything gets faster and safer.
Phase 3: Magellan and the long trophies
Magellan, the sole gold, needs 1,000,000 metres sailed across the game's zones. It accrues while you do everything else.
Raise your pirate ranks alongside it rather than treating the distance as a separate grind.
Finish the jute harvesting, which is the other pure time requirement.
This is where the platinum becomes longevity rather than skill. Hold any commercial mention until the Hello World status is confirmed.
Phase 4: The co-op and social trophies
The co-op related trophies can be completed with random players rather than an arranged partner.
Hello World needs the quick chat option in a server chat room, which was disabled at launch. Confirm before relying on it.
No PVP is required at any point, so Death Tides stays off the list entirely.
Guide notes
Check Hello World Before You Start
First section after the Quick Info box. At launch this trophy was unobtainable, because it requires greeting players with an Ahoy from the quick chat option in a server chat room and Ubisoft had temporarily disabled voice chat. The guide covering it stated it would be updated once Ubisoft addressed the issue.
Guide notes
The Game Is Online Only
There is no offline mode at all, so every trophy and the platinum depend on Ubisoft keeping the servers running. Ubisoft has decommissioned online services for numerous older titles, including a batch of 15 classic games in 2022 and the PS3 Assassin's Creed servers. On a live service game with a difficult launch, that is a real longevity consideration rather than a theoretical one.
Guide notes
No PVP Is Ever Required
The reassurance nobody leads with. You never need to touch PVP for the platinum, so Death Tides can be ignored entirely. Better still, make sure PVP disabled always appears on the menu when boarding your ship, which prevents other players griefing you during a 30 hour trophy run. Everything on the list is doable solo, and even the co-op related trophies can be completed with random players rather than an arranged partner.
Efficient route
Warehouse Discipline
Get into the habit of dumping all your valuables into your warehouse after every trip. Warehouse contents stay accessible from every outpost and remain usable for crafting, while cargo in your hull is at risk. Keep only ammo, some food and repair kits aboard. On a game built around sailing out and back, this single habit protects everything you have earned.
Use the Spyglass Constantly
It identifies the most valuable enemy ships so you are not wasting time on low-value targets, and it pinpoints the exact location of quest objectives. Not tied to a trophy directly but it shortens almost everything.
Efficient route
Magellan and the Long Haul
The sole gold trophy asks you to sail 1,000,000 metres across the game's zones. That is longevity rather than difficulty, and it accrues while you do everything else, so it is usually the last thing standing. Pair it with the pirate rank progression rather than treating it as a separate grind.
Skull and Jute
Harvesting 10,000 pieces of jute in total, the rarest trophy on the list. Another pure time requirement, so start it early and gather as you pass rather than leaving it to the end.
Upgrade Your Ship Even Though No Trophy Asks
Collect resources and visit the Shipwright periodically. No trophy requires it, but everything else becomes faster and safer, which matters across a 30 hour run.
Not Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag
It is not, and Black Flag has its own separate trophy list. Disambiguate briefly and consider Black Flag as a build candidate.

Quick answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you get the Skull and Bones platinum?
Check Hello World first. At launch it was unobtainable because Ubisoft had disabled voice chat, blocking the quick chat option it requires, and a single blocked trophy blocks the platinum.
Do you need PVP for the Skull and Bones platinum?
No, none at all. You can ignore Death Tides entirely, and you should keep PVP disabled showing on the menu when boarding your ship so other players cannot grief your trophy run.
Can you play Skull and Bones offline?
No. The game is online only, which means every trophy and the platinum itself depend on Ubisoft keeping the servers running.
How long does it take to platinum Skull and Bones?
Around 30 hours at roughly 5 out of 10 difficulty. Magellan and the jute harvesting are the two requirements that just take time.
Can you do Skull and Bones trophies solo?
Yes, all of them. Even the co-op related trophies can be completed with random players rather than an arranged partner.
What is the hardest trophy in Skull and Bones?
Skull and Jute, for harvesting 10,000 pieces of jute in total, is the rarest. Magellan, sailing 1,000,000 metres, is the longest but accrues while you play.
Should you use the warehouse in Skull and Bones?
Constantly. Dump all valuables in after every trip, since warehouse contents stay accessible from every outpost and remain usable for crafting, while cargo in your hull is at risk.
Is Skull and Bones like Assassin's Creed Black Flag?
Not really, despite beginning life as an offshoot of it. You cannot leave your ship freely and it is a live service pirate game rather than an open world adventure. Black Flag has its own separate trophy list.
