Assassin's Creed Valhalla Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Assassin's Creed Valhalla Platinum cleanup efficient.
Phase 0: Understand the real risk
Missables were patched out as of Patch 2.00 on PS4 and 1.1.0 on PS5. Ignore older guides listing Wealth 12 and 13 in Jotunheim.
The genuine risk is bugs. One failed collectible out of 782 costs Completionist All the Way and therefore the platinum.
Keep plenty of manual saves throughout, and complete each region fully as you pass through it.
Learn the three bug fixes now, reload a previous save, fast travel to another map, or change gender.
Set exploration difficulty to Adventurer for the most icons and indicators. Combat and stealth can be easy.
Phase 1: Story and map together, region by region
Do not save the map for later. Complete each region to 100 percent as you reach it, with the story running alongside.
During raids, loot the small chests as well as the Wealth chests, since the small ones carry Settlement upgrade supplies.
Collect Knowledge books as you go. You need 8 abilities and a second book of the same ability upgrades it to level 2.
Complete World Events as you encounter them. They have no map markers and usually begin with an NPC conversation.
Ignore your story and dialogue choices entirely. None of them affect any trophy.
Phase 2: Completionist All the Way
This single silver trophy requires 100 percent of collectibles and activities across every territory, and it is the whole platinum.
Around 70 percent of the other trophies will already have unlocked while pursuing it.
If a collectible does not register, try reloading a save, fast travelling to another map, or changing gender before assuming it is lost.
This is the section buyers most often want handled. One soft mention of DamnModz fits here, then back to strategy.
Phase 3: Settlement, gear and cleanup
Fully upgrade the Settlement using the supplies you gathered from small chests during raids.
Upgrade any single piece of gear to Tier 4 with all 10 upgrade slots filled. Runes are not needed.
Take the remaining combat and longship trophies, including ramming and destroying 5 boats in under 2 minutes.
Remember Overdesign II can be earned on any difficulty despite what its description says.
Free roam is available but quests are not replayable, so anything quest-bound must already be done.
Phase 4: The DLC, if you want it
Nine DLC packs carry 42 trophies and none are required for the base platinum, for a full total of 92.
With endgame gear including Mjolnir and Excalibur the DLCs are short and easy, around 3 out of 10.
The Forgotten Saga is the exception as a roguelike, needing at least three runs and most likely many more.
If you want a second platinum, the PS4 and PS5 lists are separate and stack.
Guide notes
The Missables Were Patched Out, but the Risk Got Worse
First section after the Quick Info box, and both halves matter. As of Patch 2.00 on PS4 and Patch 1.1.0 on PS5 there are no longer any missable trophies at all, where previously Wealth 12 and 13 in Jotunheim were. Most guides still list them. What remains is structurally more dangerous, because Completionist All the Way requires 100 percent game completion across 782 collectibles on a game with a documented bug history, and if just one of those collectibles bugs out you lose the trophy. That is why the advice is to complete each region as you go and keep plenty of manual saves.
Guide notes
Three Bug Workarounds
Bugs are not uncommon in this game, and there are three fixes that generally work. Reload a previous save. Fast travel to another map. Or change gender, which is a genuine in-game toggle and resolves collectible bugs that nothing else touches.
Guide notes
Do the Story and the Map Together
This inverts the usual advice for an open world game and the reason is specific. Normally you would clear the story first and mop up side content afterwards, but Valhalla is an exception because of how buggy it is and the sheer volume of side content. Completing each region fully as you pass through it means a bug surfaces while you still have relevant saves, rather than 80 hours later. Treat the map as your main priority with the story running alongside.
Guide notes
One Silver Trophy Is the Whole Platinum
Completionist All the Way requires 100 percent of collectibles and 100 percent of activities across every territory, and it alone is why this takes 120 to 130 hours despite being rated 4 out of 10. The upside is that roughly 70 percent of the other trophies arrive automatically while you pursue it, so the list is really one enormous requirement with a lot of incidental unlocks attached.
Guide notes
Loot the Small Chests During Raids
Practical advice from someone who paid for ignoring it. While raiding, collect all the small chests you find as well as the large Wealth chests, because the small ones are very likely to hold the additional supplies you need to fully upgrade your Settlement. A guide author notes they ended up farming supplies at the end of the game for exactly this reason. The Settlement upgrades feed several trophies, so this is not optional flavour.
Efficient route
Three Independent Difficulty Sliders
Exploration, combat and stealth are set separately, all can be changed at any time, and none of them locks you out of a trophy. For a platinum run, Adventurer is the recommended exploration setting because it gives you the most icons and on-screen indicators for nearby opportunities and events. Combat and stealth can sit on easy throughout with no penalty.
Overdesign II Works on Any Difficulty
Its description mentions killing hard difficulty soldiers, which reads as a difficulty requirement. It is not.
Choices Do Not Affect Trophies
No story choice and no dialogue choice impacts any trophy whatsoever. There is one point where a choice can save you time on locating Zealots, but you can still find all of them regardless of what you picked.
Free Roam Yes, Quest Replay No
You can revisit all regions freely after the story, but quests are not replayable. That distinction matters for anyone assuming they can redo a quest to trigger something they missed.
The Abilities and Gear Trophies
Abilities come from Knowledge books, with 35 in the regions plus more in River Raids, and you need 8 abilities which arrives easily while pursuing completion. Each ability has two levels, so a second book for the same ability upgrades it. For gear, you need any piece upgraded to Tier 4 with all 10 upgrade slots filled, and runes are not required. Dawn of Ragnarok later added a fifth tier.
World Events Have No Markers
You need 10 of the 129 World Events, which are Valhalla's side quest system. Unusually they have no map markers, objectives or indicators at all, and are usually started by a conversation with an NPC.
Guide notes
The DLC Is Not Required
There are nine DLC packs carrying 42 trophies, none of which are needed for the base platinum, bringing the full total to 92. With endgame gear including Mjolnir and Excalibur the DLCs become short and easy, rated around 3 out of 10 against 5 if started earlier. The Forgotten Saga is the outlier as a roguelike, needing at least three runs and most likely many more, at 9 trophies and 10 to 12 hours.

Quick answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Are there missable trophies in Assassin's Creed Valhalla?
Not since Patch 2.00 on PS4 and Patch 1.1.0 on PS5. Wealth 12 and 13 in Jotunheim used to be missable and older guides still list them, but they were fixed.
What is the real risk in the Valhalla platinum?
Bugs. Completionist All the Way requires 100 percent completion across 782 collectibles, so if any single one fails to register you lose the trophy on a very buggy game.
How do you fix a bugged collectible in Valhalla?
Three things usually work. Reload a previous save, fast travel to another map, or change gender. That last one is a real in-game toggle and it resolves bugs nothing else touches.
Should you do the story first in Valhalla?
No, unusually. Because of how buggy the game is and the volume of side content, complete the story and the map together, finishing each region fully as you reach it.
Why does the Valhalla platinum take 120 hours?
Because of one silver trophy. Completionist All the Way requires 100 percent of collectibles and activities across every territory, and around 70 percent of other trophies follow from pursuing it.
Does difficulty affect Valhalla trophies?
No. There are three separate settings for exploration, combat and stealth, all changeable at any time. Use Adventurer for exploration since it shows the most icons, and easy for the rest.
Do your choices matter for Valhalla trophies?
Not at all. No story choice and no dialogue choice affects any trophy, so you can play the narrative however you like without any planning.
Do you need the DLC for the Valhalla platinum?
No. Nine DLC packs carry 42 trophies between them, bringing the full total to 92, but the platinum only requires the 51 base trophies.
