Fallout Shelter Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Fallout Shelter Platinum cleanup efficient.
Phase 0: Two rules before you build anything
Plan to do More Than Handy before Interior Designer, in a single session without closing the game. Getting this wrong can mean restarting entirely.
Learn the time skip method now. PS4 Settings, Date and Time, Set Manually, move the clock forward only. Never backwards or the game freezes.
Leave Survival mode off. It is disabled by default and there is no trophy benefit to enabling it.
Your vault number choice has no bearing on any trophy, so pick whatever you like.
Phase 1: Early vault, resources before population
Build resource rooms first, Water Treatment Plants, Dining Rooms and power. Do not build Living Quarters to raise your dweller cap yet.
Each dweller consumes resources, so expanding population early is what puts new players into a resource bind.
Focus on the early easy quests to accumulate caps quickly.
Start working Room Rushes toward the 50 successful total, checking the displayed incident rate before each one.
Phase 2: More Than Handy and the themes
Do More Than Handy in one uninterrupted session, before Interior Designer.
Remember that once all themes are crafted you cannot re-craft them, so the order is not recoverable.
Verify the current status of this trophy before starting, since it has been reported as glitched.
Only then move on to Interior Designer and the rest of the crafting trophies.
Phase 3: The long grinds with time skipping
Work the big cumulative targets, 20 legendary weapons and outfits, 100 Stimpacks and 100 RadAway on quests, 100 quests, 500 enemies killed, 500 items scrapped and all four theme recipe fragment sets.
Use the time skip aggressively, but expect a 10 to 20 second freeze or longer while the game calculates. Wait rather than restarting.
Note that skipping days to farm lunchboxes invalidates your re-rolls and skips until you pass that date again.

Phase 4: Levels, objectives and the platinum
Level dwellers via wasteland exploration, which is the fastest method especially with time skipping.
Call your explorers back, because the level trophies will not pop until they physically reach the vault.
Finish the 100 objectives for Overachieve Much, the rarest trophy at 1.6 percent.
If you still need build count, build and destroy the same room repeatedly rather than designing a vault.

Do More Than Handy First, in One Session
First section after the Quick Info box. This trophy is both missable and glitched. It only unlocks if you complete it in a single session without closing the game, and it must be done before Interior Designer. The reason it matters so much is that once you have crafted all the themes you cannot re-craft them, which means getting the order wrong would require restarting the game from scratch. On a 30 to 55 hour list, that is the most expensive mistake available and it is easy to make without warning.

The Time Skip Method
Fallout Shelter is built on waiting, and the time skip changes that entirely. Go to PS4 Settings, then Date and Time, then Set Manually, and move the clock forward. Game progress updates immediately, it works both online and offline, and you do not need to exit to the main menu, you can press the PS button, change the time and return to your vault. Without this the platinum takes hundreds of hours longer. One hard rule, never move the clock backwards or it will freeze your game.

First, the game will appear to freeze after a large skip, for 10 to 20 seconds or considerably longer depending on how much time you skipped and how many dwellers you have, because the CPU is calculating all the changes. Wait it out rather than restarting, since one player had to restart twice unnecessarily. Second, skipping days or weeks specifically to farm lunchboxes invalidates all your re-rolls and skips until you pass that date again, so plan your skips rather than jumping ahead casually.

The Level Trophy Quirk
The fastest way to level dwellers is wasteland exploration, especially combined with time skipping. But none of the level trophies will pop until you actually call those dwellers back and they physically reach the vault.

Do Not Expand Your Population First
Early on you are limited to fewer than ten dwellers and it is tempting to build Living Quarters immediately. Do not. Each dweller consumes resources, so build resource rooms first, Water Treatment Plants, Dining Rooms and the like, before raising your cap. Focus on the early easy quests to accumulate caps. New players who expand first end up in a resource spiral within an hour.
Leave Survival Mode Off
It is disabled by default and should stay that way unless you want to make the platinum considerably harder for no trophy benefit.
Efficient route
The Long Grinds
20 legendary weapons and 20 legendary outfits, 100 Stimpacks and 100 RadAway collected on quests, 100 quests completed, 500 enemies killed on quests, 500 items scrapped, and all fragments of 4 theme recipes. These are the bulk of the time and all of them accelerate dramatically with the time skip method.
Room Rushes
Highlight a room and press the rush input. The incident rate is displayed so you can judge the risk before committing. Success gives dwellers experience and bonus caps on top of the normal output, failure causes an incident such as a fire. You need 50 successful rushes.
The Build Trophy Shortcut
Rooms do not need to be different types, and there are only 23 room types plus the elevator. If you want to grind the build count quickly you can build and destroy the same room repeatedly until it pops.
No Cross-Save
If you played on mobile, PC or Xbox, your progression does not transfer. There is no cross-save, so PS4 starts from scratch.

- More Than Handy is both missable and glitched. It only unlocks if completed in a single session without closing the game, and it must be done before Interior Designer.
