The Witcher 3 Trophy Guide: Platinum Roadmap
Phase 1: Death March and Missables
Select Death March before starting and never lower gameplay difficulty until Walked the Path unlocks. Gwent difficulty is separate and may be set to Easy.
Buy cards from every merchant, beat new Gwent players once, and complete named card quests immediately. Keep saves before A Matter of Life and Death, A Dangerous Game, High Stakes, For the Advancement of Learning, King's Gambit, and The Isle of Mists.
Before The Isle of Mists, finish the Skellige ruler and Radovid prerequisites, Keira and Triss questlines, An Eye for an Eye, fistfights, and horse races. Recruit Keira, Triss, Roche, Ves, Zoltan, Ermion, and Hjalmar. Reserve two contracts if Even Odds remains locked.
Phase 2: Story and Base Cleanup
Finish the story without changing difficulty. Passed the Trial, Ran the Gauntlet, and Walked the Path should stack, after which you may lower it.
Clean up contracts, nests, combat trophies, level 35, witcher gear, sign bonuses, and Gwent. The Cyberpunk 2077 trophy guide similarly makes side-content choices more important than the ending.
Phase 3: Both Expansions
Play Hearts of Stone, then Blood and Wine on any difficulty. Save before the wedding, Borsodi auction, Scenes from a Marriage, knights' tourney, Wine Wars, and The Night of Long Fangs.

The base game has 11 strict missables. Keep a separate save before The Isle of Mists and retain earlier saves until the Platinum unlocks.

Fist of the South Star and Geralt and Friends are soft missables because they depend on finite fights or card access. Earn both early, then protect the stricter Gwent objectives throughout the story.
Gwent and Card Collector
Card Collector requires 120 base-game cards, including 11 commonly treated as missable. A Miraculous Guide to Gwent tracks remaining cards by region, but not their identities.
Buy every merchant card and beat each new player. Protect rewards from the White Orchard player, Vizima nobleman, Bloody Baron, Vegelbud tournament, A Dangerous Game, Old Pals, Big City Players, Skellige Style, and High Stakes.
Use a lean Northern Realms deck with spies and decoys. Gwent difficulty may be lowered while gameplay remains on Death March. The Red Dead Redemption 2 trophy guide is another open-world route where tracking prevents a replay.
Death March and Walked the Path
Death March must remain active from New Game through the final story trophy. Lowering only Gwent difficulty is safe.
Collect White Orchard Places of Power, improve Swallow, craft oils, use Quen, and dodge instead of overcommitting. Only the base story needs Death March, so cleanup and both DLC packs may be easier. The Elden Ring trophy guide is more mechanically demanding, but an accidental difficulty change here can force another story run.
DLC Trophies and Save Points
Hearts of Stone
Complete every wedding activity, buy all three auction lots, and restore all eight Painted World memories. Save before the nightmare fight, activate all six enemies, then defeat them.
For I Wore Ofieri Before It Was Cool, craft the four armor pieces, buy the blinders and saddlebags, win the saddle race, and retain an Ofieri sword. Keep every item until the trophy unlocks.
Blood and Wine
Kill Golyat with an eye shot, save before the knights' tourney, and track all five virtues for Aerondight. In Wine Wars, uncover the shared sabotage and complete Deus in the Machina before turning either vineyard branch in.
Save before The Night of Long Fangs, then use separate ending paths for Last Action Hero and Kling of the Clink.
Hardest Trophies and How to Get Them
Walked the Path
The opening is hardest. Clear White Orchard, take its Places of Power, maintain Quen, prepare oils, and favor short dodge-and-counter exchanges until better gear becomes available.
Card Collector and Gwent Master
Track cards by region and buy them immediately. Enter High Stakes with 1,000 crowns, a lean 22-unit deck, several spies and decoys, and a save between opponents.
