How FH6 Skills Work

Forza Horizon 6 skills are short driving actions that feed your active Skill Chain. Some are simple single actions, like holding a high speed or smashing a specific object. Others are linked combo skills, where two actions must happen close together before the game awards the named skill.

When a challenge asks for a specific named skill, do not assume a nearby lower-tier skill will count. A clean overtake may be a Pass, but Ultimate Pass needs a closer no-contact race overtake. Wreckage may come from almost any prop, but Lumberjack needs cut wood objects. The guide pages below separate those triggers.

Best Places to Farm Skills

Pick the location based on the trigger, not just the car. Tokyo traffic is excellent for Near Miss combos, race routes are required for rival-passing skills, and rural object clusters are better for destruction and chain-score farming.

If a challenge does not update, bank the chain, confirm the event or playlist objective is active, and check that you used the right mode. Race opponent skills generally do not count from free-roam traffic, and Near Miss skills generally do not count from passing race opponents.
