Efficient route

Death Stranding 2 Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap

Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep cleanup efficient for Death Stranding 2.

1

Phase 1: The 16 episodes

Complete the main orders across Mexico and Australia. Story trophies unlock automatically and cannot be missed.

Connect optional facilities as you pass them. Maxing some early unlocks equipment that makes everything afterward easier, but you can leave most of it for the post-game.

2

Phase 2: Episode 17 and the S ranks

Enter Episode 17, the post-game free roam, with all areas accessible.

Earn S ranks on 10 deliveries, 10 recoveries and 10 elimination or destruction orders, playing on Casual or above.

3

Phase 3: Facilities and Porter Grade

Max the connection level with all 42 facilities. This is the bulk of the platinum, so build efficient routes and infrastructure.

Push Porter Grade to 40 or above in every category while delivering.

4

Phase 4: Platinum

Finish the remaining miscellaneous trophies and the Homo Liberans platinum unlocks.

Guide notes

The 42 Facility Grind

Raise all 42 facilities to maximum connection. Story deliveries unlock useful equipment early, while Episode 17 offers the best gear and full map access for cleanup. Build repeatable routes that serve several facilities per trip.

Guide notes

The S Rank Trophy

Earn S ranks on 10 deliveries, 10 recoveries, and 10 elimination or destruction orders on Casual or higher. Difficulty can be changed at any time, and completed grades can be checked through Search in the Orders menu.

  • There is no total counter for S rank orders, so use the Search function in the Orders menu to check which grades you already have.

Guide notes

Porter Grade 40

Raise every Porter Grade category to 40 or higher while maxing facilities. Rotate delivery types and supporting activities whenever one category begins trailing the others.

Guide notes

What Changed From Death Stranding 1

Unlike the first Death Stranding, the sequel has no collectible trophy and no Hard difficulty requirement. The main completion work is facility connection, S ranks and Porter Grade progression.

Guide notes

Do You Need PS Plus

No.

  • PS Plus is not required for any trophy.

Guide notes

Episode 17 Post-Game

Episode 17 opens post-game cleanup with every region still accessible. Nothing is missable, so unfinished facilities, S ranks and Porter Grade categories can all be completed there.

  • No missable trophies. Episode 17 is a post-game free roam where every area remains accessible, so everything can be cleaned up.

Guide notes

Efficiency Tips

Plan routes around connected facilities, use vehicles for bulk cargo, and build infrastructure that shortens several repeat deliveries at once. Carry the equipment needed for the return route before leaving a hub.

Efficient route

Death Stranding 2 Platinum Strategy

Use these checkpoints alongside the roadmap to keep the Death Stranding 2 trophy route on schedule and protect the high-risk requirements.

1

Choose story progress or post-game efficiency by facility

All 42 facilities need maximum connection. Raising useful facilities during the story unlocks equipment that improves later deliveries, while Episode 17 provides full access and stronger gear for efficient cleanup. Use a mixed plan. Max facilities that return valuable equipment early, then postpone slow or remote locations until the post-game network is ready.

Connection work is not missable. A poor route can always be replaced by a better one in Episode 17, so avoid forcing every five-star result during the campaign. Keep notes on facilities below maximum and group them geographically. Each post-game trip should carry orders for more than one destination whenever cargo weight and terrain allow.

2

Track S ranks and Porter Grade together

The S rank requirement covers 10 deliveries, 10 recoveries, and 10 elimination or destruction orders on Casual or higher. Difficulty can be changed at any time. There is no single total counter, so use Search in the Orders menu to review completed grades and keep an external tally for all three categories.

Porter Grade must reach 40 or higher in every category. Rotate order types whenever one category falls behind, and choose work that also raises a facility connection. An S rank run should advance at least two objectives whenever possible. This prevents a final grade category from becoming a separate grind after all facilities are already complete.

3

Build infrastructure for repeat use

Vehicles handle bulk cargo, while permanent route infrastructure removes the terrain that repeatedly slows high-value orders. Build links between groups of unfinished facilities instead of solving one terminal at a time. Carry repair and construction materials on profitable routes so the network improves without a dedicated empty trip.

The sequel removes the collectible trophy and the Hard difficulty requirement found in the first game's broader completion plan. PlayStation Plus is not required. The real work is facility connection, category-specific S ranks, and Porter Grade. Episode 17 keeps every area open, so finish the story, audit those three systems, and clean them up through a planned delivery loop.

4

Use one post-game completion ledger

Create a final list with all 42 facilities, the three S rank order categories, and every Porter Grade category. Update it at the terminal after each delivery loop. The game exposes individual order grades but not one combined S rank total, so an external ledger prevents duplicate work. Finish a region only when its facilities are maxed and the order types completed there have been recorded. This makes Episode 17 a controlled cleanup rather than a search for an unknown missing total.

5

Finish category work before abandoning a route

When infrastructure reaches a remote facility, use it for every remaining connection and S rank order in that area before moving construction resources elsewhere. Rebuilding a forgotten route for one category is more expensive than completing the local checklist while the network is active and repaired.

  • Only one trophy has a difficulty requirement. S ranks must be earned on Casual or above, and difficulty can be switched at any time.
  • PS Plus is not required for any trophy.
  • Maximising the connection level with all 42 facilities is the longest task by a wide margin. Plan delivery routes rather than improvising.
  • There is no total counter for S rank orders, so use the Search function in the Orders menu to check which grades you already have.
  • Unlike the first game there is no collectibles trophy and no Hard difficulty requirement, so returning players can skip those worries.
