Active PlayStation version PS5. PS4 service ended on June 19, 2025

Within the wider PlayStation trophy guides library, The First Descendant stands out as a mechanically easy Platinum whose real barrier is repeated leveling and material farming.

Live Service and PlayStation-Only Platinum

The True Descendant is exclusive to PlayStation. Steam and Xbox versions use the same 24 core requirements but do not have the Platinum trophy. The active PlayStation version is PS5, since the always-online PS4 version ended service on June 19, 2025 and its old trophy stack can no longer be completed.

The PS5 list still contains the original 25 trophies, with no separate seasonal or DLC trophy packs as of July 2026. Updates can change drop rates, reward paths, research times, and the fastest leveling activities, but they do not change the trophy descriptions. Current catch-up systems can move a focused run toward the lower end of the time estimate.

Trophy data was checked in July 2026. Because this is a live-service game, confirm any fixed farming route against the current in-game Access Info menu before committing materials.

The First Descendant Platinum Roadmap

1

Phase 1: Complete the Original Campaign

Play through the original story, clear every mission in Kingston, The Sterile Land, and Vespers, then continue through Fortress to unlock the main endgame systems. The trophy list stops awarding regional story trophies after Vespers, but finishing the launch campaign opens better farms, Hard difficulty, additional Intercept Battles, and useful quest rewards.

Equip modules, research your first item, dismantle spare weapons and modules, and use the Workbench whenever the related tutorials appear. Keep at least one Energy Activator for a Descendant and one for a Special Rounds weapon. Spending both on the wrong targets adds an avoidable material grind later.

2

Phase 2: Clear Progression and Activity Trophies

Reach Mastery Rank 10, level one Descendant to 40, obtain an Ultimate weapon, own five Descendants, enhance and combine modules, and complete 10 Void Intercept Battles. Replay an easy Colossus for the Intercept count and personally remove two grappled parts for Good Things Happen Twice.

Use the current Boost Path and permanent tutorial rewards before farming old launch routes. These systems can provide Descendants, Thunder Cage progress, upgrade materials, and socket support. The multi-character progression is closest to Warframe, so avoid investing every catalyst and activator into one build before the trophy-specific uses are complete.

3

Phase 3: Finish Capacity Upgrades and 10 Socket Assignments

Use one Energy Activator on any Descendant for Modules Maketh Descendant. Use another on a weapon with the orange Special Rounds icon for Place for Something Special. Check the ammunition type in the weapon details before confirming the upgrade.

Slot Maketh Module is the final grind for most players. Manually assign 10 module socket types across Level 40 Descendants or weapons at Proficiency Level 40. Each Crystallization Catalyst use resets the Descendant level or weapon proficiency to 1, so alternate between a fast-clearing Descendant and a weapon you use constantly. The 10 assignments are cumulative and do not need to be completed in one session.

Progression and the Grind

Mastery Rank and Leveling

Mastery Rank uses first-time Descendant levels, first-time weapon proficiency, and other account progression. Re-leveling the same item after a catalyst does not award fresh Mastery experience, although it is still required for repeated socket assignments. Rotate through new weapons and Descendants, then finalize each available rank at Prime Hands in Albion.

Mastery Rank 10 usually arrives before the original campaign is finished if you keep changing weapons. What Was Always Expected only needs one Descendant at Level 40, which should happen naturally unless you switch characters constantly.

Descendants and Ultimate Weapons

You need five owned Descendants, not five fully leveled characters. Count your starter, claim Bunny through her early quest line, then use current onboarding rewards and targeted research for the remaining three. Freyna and Sharen remain practical research targets, while catch-up systems may provide faster options on a new account. Paid character unlocks are not required.

Thunder Cage is a practical Ultimate weapon target because its progression is introduced early. Obtaining it earns No Hope for the Vulgus. Enhancing its Unique Ability with a duplicate can also earn Growing Possibility. Check active quests and Boost Path rewards before farming duplicate parts manually.

Crystallization Catalysts and Energy Activators

A Crystallization Catalyst lets you assign a socket type to an eligible Level 40 Descendant or Proficiency Level 40 weapon. Matching a module to that socket reduces its capacity cost, but the assignment resets the Descendant level or weapon proficiency. Slot Maketh Module tracks 10 manual assignments across all eligible equipment.

Early versions had inconsistent tracking. New assignments now count across sessions, but sockets created during the launch-era bug window may not be included. If your trophy does not unlock at the displayed total, continue with fresh manual assignments and check the in-game award counter rather than relying on default or pre-assigned sockets.

Energy Activators raise maximum module capacity without resetting levels. The Platinum needs two specific uses. One must be applied to a Descendant, and the other must be applied to a Special Rounds weapon. I recommend reserving the first two you receive until both trophies are unlocked.

Like Diablo 4, seasonal rewards can shorten old material grinds without changing the base trophy list. Claim event, login, and catch-up rewards before spending time on low-rate blueprints.

Online and Co-op Notes

The First Descendant is always online, so every trophy depends on active PS5 servers even when you enter a field privately. Crossplay connects PS5 players with the current PC and Xbox Series versions, and most missions support public matchmaking.

No trophy requires a fixed co-op partner. You can complete ordinary missions alone, use public groups for Special Operations, and matchmake for most Colossi. Public matchmaking makes the boss requirements less demanding than the squad checks in Helldivers 2, though Good Things Happen Twice still requires you to perform the part removal yourself.

For a clean Colossus removal, damage a removable shoulder part until it turns yellow, grapple onto it, hold through the Colossus shake, and strike until the part breaks away. Repeat outside the Retrieve the Ironheart operation. The same easy Intercept can be replayed.

Missable Trophies in The First Descendant

There are no missable trophies. Story regions remain available, activities can be replayed, and all cumulative requirements can be finished after the original campaign.

The only resource trap is spending Energy Activators before completing the two capacity trophies. That does not make either trophy missable, but it can force you to research extra activators. The low combat demand places the game among the easier PlayStation platinums, while the catalyst and character grind keeps it from being a quick completion.

Hardest Trophies and How to Get Them

01

Slot Maketh Module

This is the longest trophy because every socket assignment needs a Crystallization Catalyst and an eligible max-level target. Use catalysts earned through quests, the Boost Path, events, and research. Apply them to equipment you actually intend to keep so the grind also improves your account.

Leveling one efficient Descendant and one frequently used weapon together makes each reset more productive. You can spread the 10 assignments across multiple targets. Default sockets and automatically granted socket work should not be assumed to count, so track only the assignments you confirm manually.

02

Descendants, Assemble

Start with your chosen Descendant and Bunny, then inspect current onboarding rewards before researching three more. Target characters whose completed components drop directly or whose research materials overlap with activities you already need. Do not spend premium currency unless you already planned to buy a character, since the trophy is fully obtainable for free.

03

Place for Something Special and Modules Maketh Descendant

These trophies are easy once you have two Energy Activators, but the weapon requirement is specific. Open the weapon details and confirm the orange Special Rounds ammunition icon before using Max Capacity UP. Apply the second activator to any Descendant. A General Rounds, Impact Rounds, or High-Power Rounds weapon will not unlock Place for Something Special.

04

Good Things Happen Twice

Replay an early Colossus and focus on a shoulder part. Stop shooting it once it turns yellow, grapple onto it, and break it while mounted. Doing this twice yourself is more reliable than letting teammates destroy the part with gunfire.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does The First Descendant have a Platinum trophy?

Yes. The active PS5 version has 25 trophies, including The True Descendant Platinum. PC and Xbox use the 24 non-Platinum requirements.

How long does it take to Platinum The First Descendant?

Expect around 30-80 hours. Current catch-up rewards and efficient leveling can place you near 30 hours, while raw free-to-play farming and poor RNG can push the run closer to 80.

How hard is The First Descendant Platinum?

It is about 3 out of 10. Combat is forgiving for trophy purposes, while repeated leveling, five Descendants, catalysts, and capacity materials create the real workload.

What is the grindiest part of the Platinum?

Slot Maketh Module is the main grind because you must manually assign 10 socket types and re-level eligible Descendants or weapons between catalyst uses.

Are there missable trophies in The First Descendant?

No. Every mission and cumulative requirement can be completed after the original campaign.

Does difficulty affect trophies in The First Descendant?

No. There are no difficulty-specific trophies, so you can use Normal or Hard activities according to your build and farming needs.

Can you boost The First Descendant trophies?

Co-op and public matchmaking can speed up missions, Intercept Battles, leveling, and material farms. No trophy requires a dedicated boosting partner.

Can the PS4 Platinum still be earned?

No. The PS4 version ended service on June 19, 2025, so the active PlayStation trophy route is the PS5 version.

The First Descendant Platinum becomes straightforward once you reserve two Energy Activators and treat every catalyst reset as progress toward Slot Maketh Module. Players blocked by the final leveling or material grind can use DamnModz's The First Descendant platinum trophy service for game-specific completion support.
