Resident Evil 5 Trophy Guide and Platinum Roadmap
Follow these phases in order to protect the missable work and keep the Resident Evil 5 Platinum cleanup efficient.
Phase 1: First playthrough on Amateur or Normal
Play on Amateur or Normal first. Difficulty trophies stack upward, but starting high leaves you with only an unupgraded handgun, so a lower first run is usually faster overall.
Give your AI partner SMG or assault rifle weapons only. Other types have limited ammo and the AI burns through it.
Collect the BSAA emblems, treasures, cases and sparkling objects as you go, or plan a guided cleanup pass afterwards.
Nothing is missable. Chapter select means anything skipped can be picked up later.
Phase 2: Veteran, then Professional
Beat all chapters on Veteran, then Professional. Chapters do not have to be played in a row.
Unlimited ammo unlocks make both far easier, so buy and upgrade weapons before attempting Professional.
Professional is mechanically the same as Veteran with harder-hitting enemies, and a rocket launcher still solves most problems.
If you are playing co-op, all of this works with a partner, which flattens the difficulty considerably.
Phase 3: Money grinding and S ranks
Farm gold at Chapter 4-1, which is the accepted best location.
Buy every weapon and fully upgrade them. This feeds several trophies at once.
Fully upgrade the VZ61 then buy the Gatling Gun for 50,000 gold as Chris, and fully upgrade the S75 then buy the Longbow for 50,000 as Sheva. Each has its own kill trophy and Mercenaries kills count.
S rank every level. With upgraded weapons and route knowledge this goes quickly.
Phase 4: Figurines and the platinum
They're ACTION Figures! needs every figurine and sits at roughly 4.7 percent of players. The barrier is cost, not skill.
This is the grind that separates the 20 percent who platinum from the 2.6 percent who fully complete. Be honest about that.

Mop up the remaining combat oddities, deflecting a bow arrow, headshotting a jumping Majini, the maximum combo count and the weapon-specific kill counts.
Phase 5: The Versus DLC, verify first

Placed above the roadmap. The four difficulty trophies stack, so beating Professional awards Amateur, Normal and Veteran too. The catch is that starting on a high difficulty leaves you with nothing but an unupgraded handgun, since weapons are found or bought as you go. The Character-Locked Weapon Trophies
The Gatling Gun requires fully upgrading the VZ61 machine gun, completing the game, then buying it for 50,000 gold, and only Chris can use it. The Longbow requires fully upgrading the S75 rifle then buying it for 50,000, and only Sheva can use it. Mercenaries kills count toward both, which is the shortcut.
S Ranks and Chapter Select
Every level needs an S rank, and chapter select means nothing has to be replayed in sequence. Note that unlimited ammo unlocks make this far quicker.
Your AI Partner
Give Sheva SMG or assault rifle weapons only. Other weapon types have limited ammo which the AI wastes. A small detail that meaningfully changes the experience.
