Diablo 3 Trophy Guide Roadmap

1

Phase 1: Complete the Campaign on Softcore

Start a normal, non-Hardcore character and complete Acts I through V on any difficulty. Normal is perfectly valid, although Hard can provide better experience without slowing an early build too much. Use whichever class you enjoy because every base class must eventually reach level 70.

Follow the main quests, recruit the Templar, Scoundrel, and Enchantress, and interact with the Blacksmith, Jeweler, and Mystic whenever their services become available. The campaign supplies every act-completion trophy, all required story boss trophies, The Comfort of Strangers, and A Mystical Meeting.

Do not spend time clearing every corner. Diablo 3 has no missable trophies, and every boss can be revisited. Unlike Diablo 2 Resurrected, this platinum does not require Hell difficulty, class-specific campaign clears, or a level 99 Hardcore character.

Continue with the same hero until level 70 if the campaign ends earlier. Reaching 70 unlocks Above & Beyond, starts Paragon progression, and gives you access to level-70 equipment for Up All Night To Get Lucky.

2

Phase 2: Create a Safe Hardcore Character

Create a Hardcore hero with a different class from your first character. This character counts toward Dream Team, so using a new class prevents an unnecessary seventh leveling run.

Play on Normal and prioritize survivability. Vitality, Life per Second, resistance, crowd control, pets, shields, and a class cheat-death passive where available are more valuable than a small damage increase. Witch Doctor is especially safe because pets can hold enemy attention, while Crusader combines strong defenses with healing and Steed Charge.

On the current PS4 build, Adventure Mode is available from the start, so a second full campaign is not required. This also applies when the PS4 version is played on PS5. Level the Hardcore hero through bounties, Nephalem Rifts, or campaign content, then reach level 70 for Above & Beyond (Hardcore). Kill Diablo and Malthael in Hardcore mode for Reign of Terror and May His Death Satisfy You. Both bosses can be selected through Adventure Mode, allowing you to prepare at level 70 before attempting them.

PS3 legacy note: Softcore and Hardcore Adventure Mode unlocks are separate. Complete Act V in Hardcore to open Hardcore Adventure Mode, which makes a full Hardcore campaign the safest straightforward route. You can earn the Hardcore boss trophies during that campaign or revisit the bosses after the mode unlocks.

Hardcore and Softcore characters use separate stashes, artisan progression, Paragon levels, and materials. Never assume your main character's gear will be available. If health drops unexpectedly, retreat instead of trying to finish an elite pack.

3

Phase 3: Reach Level 70 With Six Classes

You now have two different level-70 classes if Phases 1 and 2 were completed efficiently. Raise the remaining four base classes to level 70 for Dream Team.

Use Adventure Mode rather than repeating the full story once it is available for that game mode. Complete bounties while leveling because every finished objective advances Batting 500. On PS4 and PS5, Paragon points, crafted gear, a ruby in Leoric's Crown, Kanai's Cube powers, and a level-25 Gem of Ease can shorten later class runs substantially.

PS3 legacy note: Kanai's Cube and Gem of Ease are not available. Rely on Paragon points within the same mode, crafted equipment, a ruby in Leoric's Crown, difficulty bonuses, and co-op leveling instead.

A co-op partner with a strong level-70 character can power-level new heroes quickly, but online play is optional. When using local co-op, keep the trophy-hunting profile as Player 1 while each class reaches level 70. Older reports link Player 2 milestone tracking with missed challenge registration.

4

Phase 4: Complete 500 Bounties and the Remaining Grinds

Choose your fastest softcore character and finish the bounty total. Adventure Mode offers five bounties in each of five acts, so a complete five-act rotation gives 25. Twenty full rotations equal 500 bounties.

You do not need to claim an act cache for each individual bounty to count. The completion message is what matters. Online groups can split objectives, but console bounty credit has not behaved consistently across every version and session. Check the in-game challenge counter after the first few party completions before relying on split farming. Solo players should favor a movement build and skip unnecessary combat between objectives.

During this grind, you should naturally finish 500 elite enemies, 100 Treasure Goblins, 500 Rift monsters, 500,000 gold, artisan training, and most equipment tasks. Save Demolition Derby, Dashing through the Rift, and any missing crafting or enchanting trophies for final cleanup.

Guide notes

General Tips for the Diablo 3 Platinum

Combine Leveling With the Bounty Grind

The platinum becomes much longer when six-class leveling and 500 bounties are treated as separate jobs. Start bounties as soon as Adventure Mode is available, rotate to a new class after reaching level 70, and preserve your fastest character for the final total.

A full 25-bounty rotation is useful when you also need crafting materials. When only the trophy counter matters, prioritize short objectives such as boss kills, cursed events, and compact dungeon clears. Large searches for unmarked objects are less efficient.

Build for Movement Speed

Raw damage matters only until enemies die quickly. After that point, movement determines how fast the 500-bounty grind ends.

Demon Hunter can chain Vault, Monk has Dashing Strike, Crusader has Steed Charge, Witch Doctor has Spirit Walk, and Wizard has Teleport. Equip cooldown reduction, resource support, and movement bonuses that keep the mobility skill available. The long-form loot grind resembles Borderlands 3 more than a difficult endgame test, so efficiency matters more than perfect damage rolls.

Use the Lowest Efficient Difficulty

No trophy requires Torment. Increase difficulty only while ordinary enemies and elites still die quickly. A higher experience multiplier does not help when every bounty takes twice as long.

Normal is the correct setting for Hardcore unless your gear makes death nearly impossible. For softcore leveling, move upward gradually and lower the setting whenever elite packs interrupt your route.

Track In-Game Challenges

Many PlayStation trophies are tied to matching in-game challenges. Check the challenge menu before the final step of Dream Team, Batting 500, Greed over Need, and Up All Night To Get Lucky. A backup made before the in-game challenge completes gives you another trigger attempt if the PlayStation trophy fails to appear.

Guide notes

Hardcore Mode Strategy

Pick a Defensive Class

Witch Doctor is the safest general recommendation because Zombie Dogs and Gargantuan can fight while you remain at range. Crusader is another strong option due to shields, healing skills, and defensive passives. Any class works on Normal, so familiarity is more important than a current seasonal build.

Use a class you did not level in Phase 1. The Hardcore level 70 still contributes one of the six distinct classes needed for Dream Team.

Keep Gear Current

Replace underleveled armor regularly and favor Vitality, Life per Second, Armor, All Resistance, and healing. Keep a defensive skill on the bar even if another attack would clear slightly faster. Unlock and equip the class cheat-death passive as soon as it becomes available.

Do not enter a boss fight immediately after raising the difficulty. Test the character against ordinary elites first. Diablo and Malthael are safe on Normal with level-70 gear, but Malthael's ground effects and dash attacks can still punish standing still.

Avoid Preventable Deaths

Pause or leave the game when controls, network stability, or concentration become unreliable. Do not play a Hardcore character during local co-op if another player can drag the camera into danger. Followers with healing or crowd control add another layer of protection when playing solo.

A death before level 70 means rebuilding that character from level 1. Previously unlocked trophies remain on your PlayStation account, but the dead hero and its equipped items are permanently lost.

Guide notes

Bounties, Rifts, and Treasure Goblins

Batting 500

Batting 500 is the longest trophy. The 500-bounty counter is cumulative, so you can spread progress across sessions and characters. Completing bounties while leveling the six required classes can remove a large part of the final grind.

For solo cleanup, use Normal difficulty and a fast movement build. Ignore enemies that are not tied to the objective. Town Portal immediately after the completion message, then select the next bounty from the world map.

Dashing through the Rift and Just Riffing

Open a regular Nephalem Rift on Normal after reaching level 70 and equipping a functional build. Kill only enough enemies to fill the progress bar, defeat the Rift Guardian, and report back to Orek within 15 minutes for Dashing through the Rift.

The same runs count toward Just Riffing, which requires 500 monster kills inside Nephalem Rifts. This normally finishes after only a few complete rifts.

Greed over Need

Treasure Goblins appear during normal exploration, bounties, and rifts. You will usually kill 100 before reaching 500 bounties. If the trophy remains, run fast Nephalem Rifts. On PS4 and PS5, transmuting Puzzle Rings in Kanai's Cube also opens The Vault for extra goblin opportunities. PS3 players should continue farming rifts and bounty routes because the Cube is not available there.

The 100 kills are cumulative. Focus on stopping the goblin's escape portal rather than clearing nearby enemies first.

Guide notes

Artisans, Gear, and Miscellaneous Cleanup

Upgrade Every Artisan to Level 12

Train the Blacksmith, Jeweler, and Mystic to level 12 for Forged Credentials, Gemkata, and Maximum Myriam. The final ranks require gold and higher-level crafting materials, so complete them after your first character reaches level 70.

Craft five items for Made to Order and continue to 100 for Custom-Fit. Low-cost recipes are enough. Combine gems once for Bejeweled, repair a damaged item for Breaking Not So Bad, and socket any gem for Socket to Me.

Complete the Enchanting Trophies

Use the Mystic to replace one property on an item for Trade-in. For I Feel So Enchanting, enchant an item in every equipment slot. Cheap rare items are suitable, and the requirement can be completed over time rather than with one permanent set.

Keep notes as you enchant each slot because the game does not provide a simple equipment checklist on the trophy screen.

Equip a Full Level-70 Legendary Set

Up All Night To Get Lucky requires Legendary or Set items in every equipment slot, with each item originally requiring level 70. A two-handed Legendary weapon is valid, as is a one-handed weapon with a Legendary off-hand.

Check every ring, accessory, and armor piece carefully. Seasonal systems that remove level requirements do not change the item's original level, but an older Legendary equipped during leveling will not count. Replace any item with unusually low stats before assuming the trophy is glitched.

Earn Demolition Derby

Travel to the City of Caldeum entrance in Act II, where breakable carts, urns, and market objects are densely packed. Use a ranged area attack while moving continuously until the destruction callout reaches 50 objects.

Demon Hunter Multishot, Wizard Disintegrate, and other wide attacks work well. Restart the session if the chain ends before 50 because broken scenery does not immediately return.

Guide notes

Does Difficulty Affect Diablo 3 Trophies?

No Diablo 3 trophy requires a specific difficulty. The full platinum can be earned on Normal, including the Hardcore boss kills.

Difficulty only changes enemy strength, experience, gold, and loot quality. On the current PS4 build, Normal through Torment VI are available from the start, with Torment VII through XVI opening after a character reaches level 70. The PS3 version uses its older difficulty and progression rules. On either platform, raise the setting only while enemies still die quickly, then lower it whenever travel and elite fights begin slowing the route.

There is no New Game Plus requirement. Campaign chapters can be selected again, while Adventure Mode provides unrestricted access to acts, bosses, bounties, and rifts. Compared with Diablo 4, this platinum has no high-tier boss trophy or required endgame difficulty, but it asks for much more repeated class leveling.

Guide notes

Online and Co-op Trophy Notes

Diablo 3 has no online trophies. Every base trophy can be earned solo and offline, including Batting 500, Dream Team, and all three Hardcore trophies.

Online co-op can reduce the time substantially. A geared partner can power-level fresh classes, and groups can divide bounty objectives after confirming that the challenge counter credits each player correctly. Couch co-op also works, but the trophy-hunting account should remain Player 1 when a class reaches level 70 or another cumulative challenge completes.

A PlayStation Plus subscription is only needed for online multiplayer. It is not needed for solo play or local co-op.

Guide notes

Glitched Trophies and Save Safety

There are no consistently unobtainable base trophies, but Diablo 3 can occasionally complete an in-game challenge without sending the matching PlayStation trophy. Reports most often involve long cumulative milestones or trophies triggered while the console is disconnected from PSN.

Stay signed into the trophy-hunting profile and let it remain Player 1. Make a cloud or USB backup before the sixth distinct class reaches level 70, before the 500th bounty, before the 100th Treasure Goblin, and before equipping the final level-70 Legendary slot.

If an in-game challenge completes but the trophy does not unlock, reloading the same save may not create a second trigger because the challenge is already marked complete. Restore the backup and repeat the final action while connected to PSN. Without a backup, a fresh local save may be required for that trophy.

For Up All Night To Get Lucky, verify item levels before treating the problem as a sync failure. One underleveled Legendary is a much more common cause than a broken trophy.

Guide notes

Missable Trophies in Diablo 3

There are no missable trophies in Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls. Campaign acts and bosses can be replayed, Adventure Mode keeps every act available, and cumulative trophies continue across sessions.

Hardcore progress is the only permanent risk. A dead Hardcore character must be rebuilt, but any trophy already unlocked remains earned. Complete Diablo and Malthael on Normal after reaching level 70 rather than attempting them with weak gear.

Guide notes

Rise of the Necromancer DLC Trophies

Rise of the Necromancer adds 10 trophies on PS4, made up of 8 Bronze and 2 Silver. None are required for the Reaper of Souls platinum, and the add-on is not available on PS3.

TrophyRequirement
The Silence When You Speak to MeListen to every Master Ordan conversation in the Pandemonium Fortress.
Serve the BalanceReach level 70 with a Necromancer.
Bringer of OrderComplete Act V with a Necromancer.
Bone SkewerDamage 40 enemies with Bone Spear within three seconds.
What Is Dead Can Sometimes DieKill 1,000 Undead enemies by using corpses.
Curse Your EnthusiasmKill 5,000 cursed enemies.
Terror in the BloodUse a health-costing ability below 10 percent life during the Diablo fight, then defeat Diablo.
Game of BonesUse Bone Armor on the Skeleton King.
Skeleton CrewKill 500 elite enemies with Command Skeleton minions.
Self ControlledKill your own Shadow Clone with Simulacrum during the Diablo encounter.

The DLC normally adds another 10 to 20 hours. Terror in the Blood has a history of inconsistent registration, so remove followers, regeneration, and automatic healing before lowering health. Make the attempt with a seasonal Necromancer if a non-seasonal character does not register it, and keep a separate save backup before the Diablo encounter.

Focus these first

Hardest Trophies and How to Get Them

01

Batting 500

The difficulty is repetition rather than combat. Twenty complete five-act rotations equal the required 500 bounties, but the route becomes faster when you accumulate progress while leveling all six classes.

Use a softcore character with permanent mobility and play on Normal. In online co-op, split objectives only after confirming that the challenge counter credits your account correctly. Check the counter periodically rather than estimating from Horadric Caches because a cache represents five bounties, while partial acts still add individual completions.

02

Above & Beyond (Hardcore)

Reach level 70 on Normal with a defensive build. A Witch Doctor can let pets handle most fights, while a Crusader can combine armor, healing, and a shield. Equip a cheat-death passive and keep current-level gear in every slot.

Once level 70 is reached, stay on Normal and kill Diablo and Malthael for the other Hardcore trophies. Avoid unnecessary Torment play because no trophy rewards the added risk.

03

Dream Team

Level six different base classes to 70. Make the softcore campaign hero and Hardcore hero different classes, then level only four more. On PS4 and PS5, Adventure Mode, Paragon points, Leoric's Crown with a ruby, Gem of Ease, and Kanai's Cube shorten the remaining runs. PS3 players can use Adventure Mode, Paragon points, crafted gear, and co-op after completing the required mode-specific unlocks.

Co-op power-leveling is the fastest route, but solo leveling remains straightforward. Rotate through bounties so each new class also reduces the Batting 500 total.

04

Up All Night To Get Lucky

Equip Legendary or Set gear with an original minimum level of 70 in every slot. Run rifts for drops and Blood Shards or craft level-70 Legendary items. On PS4 and PS5, upgrading rare items through Kanai's Cube can fill missing slots. PS3 players must rely on drops and crafting.

Inspect every equipped item before the final swap. An old ring, amulet, or leveling item is easy to overlook, especially when a seasonal effect hides its normal level requirement.

Quick answers

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to platinum Diablo 3?

Expect about 60 to 80 hours with efficient bounty leveling and some co-op support. A fully solo route without power-leveling commonly takes more than 80 hours.

How hard is the Diablo 3 platinum?

The platinum is about 3/10. Combat can stay on Normal, while the challenge comes from protecting one Hardcore character and completing several long grinds.

Are there missable trophies in Diablo 3?

No. Every campaign boss, act, bounty, Rift, artisan task, and cumulative requirement can be revisited.

Does difficulty affect trophies in Diablo 3?

No. Every base trophy can be earned on Normal difficulty.

How many playthroughs are needed for the Diablo 3 platinum?

On PS4 and PS5, one full Softcore campaign is required for the act trophies, while the Hardcore hero can level and kill Diablo and Malthael through Adventure Mode. On PS3, Softcore and Hardcore Adventure Mode unlocks are separate, so plan on one Softcore campaign and one Hardcore campaign through Act V.

Are there online trophies in Diablo 3?

No. Online and local co-op can speed up leveling and bounties, but all 44 base trophies are available solo.

What is the hardest trophy in Diablo 3?

Batting 500 is the hardest overall because completing 500 bounties takes longer than any combat task. Above & Beyond (Hardcore) carries the greatest risk because death deletes the character.

Do you need the Necromancer DLC for the platinum?

No. Rise of the Necromancer has 10 separate PS4 trophies that are not part of the 44-trophy platinum requirement. The add-on is not available on PS3.

Does Diablo 3 have a separate PS5 platinum?

No. The PlayStation Store version is a PS4 game that runs on PS5 through backward compatibility, so it uses the PS4 trophy list.

Is the original PS3 Diablo 3 trophy list the same?

No. The original 2013 PS3 release has 46 trophies and different requirements. Reaper of Souls Ultimate Evil Edition has the 44-trophy base list covered here.

Can Diablo and Malthael be killed in Hardcore Adventure Mode?

Yes on PS4 and PS5. Adventure Mode is available from the start, so you can level a Hardcore character and kill both bosses there. On PS3, complete Act V in Hardcore first to unlock Hardcore Adventure Mode, or earn the boss trophies during the Hardcore campaign. Reach level 70 and use Normal difficulty to minimize risk.

What should you do if an in-game challenge unlocks without its trophy?

Restore a backup from before the challenge completed and repeat the final action while signed into PSN as Player 1. A completed challenge may not retrigger on the same save.

Diablo 3 is a manageable platinum when each new class contributes to the bounty total and the Hardcore hero stays on Normal. Players who prefer direct help with the remaining class or bounty grind can use DamnModz PlayStation trophy services, while every trophy remains obtainable through solo play.
