How PlayStation Trophies Work

Platinum
The completion trophy for earning every required base-game trophy.
Each PlayStation game has a trophy list made up of Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards. Most full releases also include one Platinum trophy. The Platinum normally unlocks when every other required trophy in the base list is complete. DLC and later update packs are usually tracked separately, so you can often earn the Platinum without reaching 100% across every add-on.
Your trophies are stored on your PSN profile and contribute to your trophy level. A trophy also has a rarity percentage based on how many tracked players have unlocked it.
