ARC Raiders The Right Tool: Where to Find a Fireball, Hornet and Turret

The supplied Ferro IV is the weapon to build the run around. Tian Wen gives you the rifle and 20 Heavy Ammo when you accept the quest, so there is little reason to risk an expensive kit.

Use a free loadout, keep your distance from Fireballs, and make each shot deliberate. The Ferro is especially strong against ARC targets, so it turns this into a low-cost hunting quest rather than a gear check.

You need A Bad Feeling completed before The Right Tool becomes available from Tian Wen. The quest can be done on any map, although Dam Battlegrounds is the easiest place to deliberately hunt all three target types.

• Accept the quest from Tian Wen.
• Equip the granted Ferro IV and 20 Heavy Ammo.
• Destroy one Fireball, one Hornet and one Turret.
• Use a free loadout if you want to keep the run inexpensive.

Use the environment to narrow the search: Hornets patrol open areas, while Fireballs and Turrets are usually found in or around buildings. On Dam Battlegrounds, Research and Administration is the better choice for heavy ARC activity, while Water Treatment is the calmer option if you want fewer player encounters.

1. Start in open ground and scan the sky for a Hornet.
2. Move into building interiors to look for Fireballs and Turrets.
3. Ping each ARC unit before committing ammo so you confirm its name first.
4. Rotate between Research and Administration and Water Treatment if one area is crowded.

Research and Administration also appears in A Balanced Harvest, Medical Merchandise and Trash into Treasure.

Keep the Fireball at range and hit it before it closes in. Fireballs are white, ball-shaped ARC machines that are commonly encountered inside buildings and attack with flames once they engage.

1. Spot the Fireball before entering its space and keep a clear retreat path.
2. Raise the Ferro IV early so you are ready before it ignites and rushes you.
3. Fire from range and avoid letting it get close enough to pressure you with flames.

Look for Hornets over open ground and shoot their thrusters while they hover. They are the one target in this quest you should search for outside rather than inside a building.

1. Scan open areas for a hovering ARC unit.
2. Ping it to confirm it is a Hornet.
3. Aim at the thrusters while it hovers to bring it down efficiently.

Hornets also appear during Bees! and Keeping an Eye Out.

Fight Turrets from hard cover instead of crossing their firing angle. They are static ARC machines commonly found inside buildings and near entrances, especially around research or high-value resource areas.

1. Locate the Turret from cover before stepping into its line of sight.
2. Peek from a wall, doorway or solid object rather than exposing your whole body.
3. Fire in controlled bursts and retreat behind cover whenever it is tracking you.

Turrets are also a known threat around the Space Travel Building route in Greasing Her Palms.

Completing The Right Tool gives you a small early-game bundle focused on firepower and ammo efficiency. The Ferro IV and Heavy Ammo are granted at quest start, so they are listed separately from the completion rewards.
