ARC Raiders quest guide

ARC Raiders A Better Use: Where to Find a Call Station

A Better Use ARC Raiders asks you to request a Supply Drop from a Call Station, but the station icon only appears once you are already close. That is why an empty map does not mean none are nearby. Listen for a low hum and look for a rusty antenna on a metal pole. Tian Wen gives the quest, and Dam Battlegrounds is the easiest map to search.

Quick Answer

Call Stations only appear on the map when you are close, so find them by sight and sound first. Look for a rusty antenna with a light on top, listen for a low hum, clear the area, activate the electrical box at the base, follow the flare, then breach and loot the Supply Drop. Once you loot it, the quest is complete and extraction is not required.

Map behavior

Why You Cannot See Call Stations on Your Map

Call Station icons do not appear until you are within range of the station. Treat the antenna symbol as confirmation rather than a search tool, the same way nearby-only markers behave in Off the Radar and Untended Garden.

If you opened the map and found nothing, you have not missed a permanent marker. Move through likely open areas and listen for the station instead.

Recognition

How to Find a Call Station

Find a Call Station by listening for its low hum and scanning open ground for a tall makeshift antenna. The station is a rusty pole assembly with an antenna and light on top, usually near open areas or small buildings.

  • Listen before opening the map again.
  • Use the small antenna icon only after you are already close.
  • If a station will not activate, move on and find another one.
  • Expect more player traffic around central map areas where stations tend to cluster.
Before you deploy

A Better Use Requirements

Complete The Right Tool before A Better Use. The quest can be completed on Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, The Blue Gate, or Spaceport, with Dam Battlegrounds recommended for a straightforward run.

A free loadout is reasonable because you do not need to bring a quest item in, but dying before you loot the Supply Drop means you must try again.

Locations

Where Call Stations Have Been Reported

Use these as reported search zones rather than guaranteed fixed coordinates, because Call Stations can vary from round to round.

Walkthrough

How to Call and Loot the Supply Drop

Activate the electrical box at the base of the Call Station, then track the flare and wait for the drop to descend.

  1. Clear the immediate area before touching the station because the flare and activation noise reveal your position.
  2. Interact with the electrical box at the base of the antenna.
  3. Watch the flare and keep the descending Supply Drop in sight.
  4. Wait roughly half a minute for the large tube-shaped container to land.
  5. Breach the container and loot it to complete the quest.

The drop usually contains basic restocking supplies such as bandages, weapons, and ammo, so finish the objective and move on rather than lingering.

What Comes After A Better Use

Greasing Her Palms unlocks after A Better Use. Keep its special quest items protected, because that follow-up can punish a careless death more heavily than this Call Station objective.

Ongoing use

Call Stations Are Worth Using Afterwards

Call Stations remain useful after the quest because Supply Drops can restock bandages, weapons, and ammo during a bad run. The tradeoff never changes: activating one broadcasts your position with a visible flare and noise, so clear nearby threats first.

Quick answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I find a Call Station on the map?

The antenna icon only appears when you are already close to a Call Station. Search by sight and sound first, then use the map icon as confirmation.

How do you find Call Stations?

Listen for a low hum and look for a rusty antenna on a metal pole with a light on top, usually in open ground or near small buildings.

Does the flare give away your position?

Yes. The activation flare and noise make your location obvious to nearby raiders, so clear the area before using the station.

Do you need to extract for A Better Use?

No. Looting the Supply Drop completes the quest; dying after that does not undo the objective.

Are all Call Stations active?

No. If a station will not activate in your round, move on and search for another.
