Quick Answer
- Inspect the stone cairn beside the mossy boulder under the broken road near the Highway Collapse label.
- Head to the other raised highway section northwest of the Highway Collapse label, toward Adorned Wreckage, and reach the hideout area.
- Dig up the cache at the base of the tall concrete highway support and check that you hold the Broken Compass.
- Complete those trail and cache objectives in one round, then extract with the compass and deliver it to Cassio.
- Claim 2,500 XP, 1 Tellurion, 2 Magnets, 2 Batteries, and 2 Power Cables without needing the optional stash.
A Path Not Yours Requirements
- Complete Taking Stock and accept A Path Not Yours from Cassio at the Nomadic Envoys.
- Have access to The Blue Gate.
- Check the two Ziplines supplied on acceptance before choosing an optional climbing route.
- Carry healing and a weapon suited to escaping ARC pressure around Barren Clearing.
The one-round requirement covers the trail start, following the trail, and finding the gift. Delivery is the next step after extracting with the compass, so your practical route is one trail-and-cache run followed by the hand-in to Cassio.
A free loadout does not remove the item-delivery objective. Leave room in your inventory for the compass and prioritize bringing it out over looting the optional room above the cache.
Find the Start of the Nomad Trail
Start under the broken road near the Highway Collapse label in southwestern Blue Gate. The area sits along the southern side of Barren Clearing, west of the Forest Airshaft.
- Approach the ground beneath the broken road near the Highway Collapse label.
- Find the moss-covered boulder under the broken road.
- Look beside it for a small cairn made from stacked rocks.
- Use INSPECT on the cairn to register the start of the trail.
The first marker is low to the ground beside the boulder. Look for that small stone stack rather than a road sign, a mural, or an opening high in the bridge.
Follow the Trail Markers to the Nomad Hideout
After inspecting the first cairn, head toward the other raised highway section northwest of the Highway Collapse label, toward Adorned Wreckage. Use the concrete supports and the elevated bridge opening as your destination.
- Leave the inspected cairn and look for the next small stone stack beside rocks on the slope.
- Continue past the cairn by a mossy rock beside wrecked cars.
- Approach the tall concrete support below the elevated hideout.
- Move into the hideout area and confirm that the trail-following objective registers.
You do not need to stop at every intermediate cairn after inspecting the trail start. The hideout visit advances the objective, so keep moving toward the support instead of stopping to search for every cairn.
With a Trace also uses the wider Barren Clearing area. Complete this trail objective before letting another accepted task pull you away.
Dig Up Bilguun's Gift
The required cache is at ground level, at the base of a tall concrete highway support in Barren Clearing. The optional stash is above it inside the broken bridge.
- Search the base of the tall support below the hideout.
- Use DIG UP CACHE at the buried-cache interaction.
- Check that the gift objective has registered.
- Open your inventory and confirm that you have the Broken Compass before leaving.
The compass is the item Cassio needs, so the inventory check matters even after the digging objective updates. Keep it with you for extraction rather than dropping it to make room for unrelated loot.
Optional: Loot Bilguun's Secret Stash
The optional stash is inside the same elevated Bilguun's Shelter used in Keeping an Eye Out, in the broken bridge directly above the cache support. You can finish the required route without entering it, so only add the climb when you have time and a clear approach.
- Look up from the cache pillar and identify the elevated bridge opening.
- Place a supplied Zipline from below toward the elevated opening.
- Ride up toward the opening and catch the lower entrance ledge.
- As a fallback to the Zipline route, approach along the raised roadway above the opening and catch the lower ledge as you drop.
- Enter the shelter with the eye mural and look for the optional stash before leaving the area.
Do not attempt a blind drop while carrying the compass. If you cannot line up the ledge or the approach is under fire, skip the stash and continue toward extraction.
The two supplied Ziplines are travel equipment, not part of the completion payout. You do not have to use both to complete the required trail and cache objectives.
Bilguun's Shelter and Hideouts: Which Is Which?
The Nomad hideout is the same elevated Bilguun's Shelter used in Keeping an Eye Out on The Blue Gate, with the required cache below and optional stash above, not Bilguun's Hideout on Spaceport.
| Name | Map | Quest and Landmark |
|---|---|---|
| Bilguun's Shelter | The Blue Gate | The elevated broken-highway refuge used in Keeping an Eye Out. |
| Nomad hideout and optional Bilguun stash in A Path Not Yours | The Blue Gate | The same elevated shelter, with the required cache at its concrete support below and the optional stash inside the bridge above. |
| Bilguun's Hideout in What We Left Behind | Spaceport | A separate map and a separate objective, not a stop in this quest. |
For the required gift, use the cache pillar as your destination rather than directions to a Spaceport hideout or an elevated mural. The compass does not require the optional bridge-room climb.
How to Extract and Deliver the Broken Compass
Finish the trail and cache objectives in one round, then extract with the Broken Compass and return to Cassio. Check whether the Forest Airshaft is active before choosing it as your exit, and use another available extraction when it better suits the route.
- Confirm that the required trail and gift objectives have registered.
- Check that the Broken Compass is still in your inventory.
- Select an active extraction and leave The Blue Gate with the compass.
- Return to Cassio at the Nomadic Envoys and deliver the Broken Compass.
- Claim A Path Not Yours after the hand-in.
Do not wait for the optional stash counter before heading out. Leave enough time to reach the exit, and avoid turning the last crossing into a fight you do not need.
A Leaper can patrol Barren Clearing, so use the highway structure and terrain to break its approach. A nearby extraction name is an option to check, not a guarantee that the exit is available in your raid.
If a failed run leaves you without the Broken Compass, you cannot deliver it. Check your current quest ticks and recover the missing compass before attempting delivery.
Explore raid support for the highway trail and your extraction with the Broken Compass.
A Path Not Yours Rewards
| Reward | Type | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 2,500 XP | Experience | Completion XP. |
| 1 Tellurion | Epic trinket | Separate from the Broken Compass delivered to Cassio. |
| 2 Magnets | Material | Two awarded. |
| 2 Batteries | Material | Two awarded. |
| 2 Power Cables | Material | Two awarded. |
The two Ziplines supplied on acceptance are separate from these completion rewards. The optional stash is not required to claim the quest payout.
What Comes Before and After
A Path Not Yours closes the Nomadic Envoys sequence that starts with Clean Hands and continues through Taking Stock. Return to Cassio for the final delivery rather than looking for another required location on Blue Gate.
Reduced to Rubble also uses the collapsed-highway area for a photo. Bring the equipment that quest requires before combining it with the trail, and keep the compass return as your priority.
After the hand-in, use the ARC Raiders quest hub to plan another accepted mission. The older Bilguun quests are related location guides, not sequels unlocked by this delivery.
Bring Bilguun's Gift Home
Inspect the first cairn, reach the highway support, and recover the compass below the bridge. Keep the optional climb separate from the required route, then return the gift to Cassio after extracting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Path Not Yours a separate quest from A Path Not Yours?
No. Use A Path Not Yours in Cassio's quest list. The task is the Blue Gate trail and Broken Compass delivery, so do not treat the shortened name as a separate mission or follow it to the Spaceport hideout.
Do you need to climb into the bridge to recover the compass?
No. Dig at the base of the tall concrete support for the required gift. The bridge-room climb belongs to the optional stash, so you can keep the required route at ground level and concentrate on carrying the compass out.
Is the Tellurion the item Cassio wants you to deliver?
No. Deliver the Broken Compass recovered from the buried cache. The Tellurion is part of the completion payout, so do not search for one before starting the trail or confuse it with the gift you need to extract.
Do you have to use both supplied Ziplines?
No. The required trail and cache objectives do not ask you to deploy two Ziplines. Keep them for an optional climb or another useful part of the route instead of spending both just because they were supplied on acceptance.
