ARC Raiders Mixed Signals: How to Find and Kill an ARC Surveyor

Mixed Signals can be completed on any map, so choose the raid you know best. Bring a safe pocket, a fast way to stop or burst down the Surveyor, and a weapon with solid ARC armor penetration.

You do not need an expensive augment with many quick slots; the important part is protecting the Surveyor Vault after the kill.

Find a Surveyor by scanning the horizon for a tall vertical blue laser. The beam is visible from long range, but it switches on and off, so keep the same heading when it disappears rather than assuming the target moved away.

1. Scan the skyline immediately after spawning.
2. Mark the bearing of any blue vertical beam.
3. Advance toward that bearing while periodically rescanning for the next flash.
4. Expect the Surveyor to wander because it has no fixed spawn point.

Surveyors do not attack you, so the challenge is stopping the target before it escapes rather than surviving a boss fight. Build your loadout around control and burst damage, not tanking.

Open with an immobilizer if you have one, then use high ARC-penetration damage before the Surveyor can run.

1. Approach without firing until you are ready to commit.
2. Throw a Showstopper Grenade to lock it in place for a short damage window.
3. Unload heavy ARC damage while it is immobilized.
4. Use trigger grenades as a fallback if you prefer a pre-planned burst setup.
5. Chase only if needed; do not waste the control window reloading or repositioning.

Loot the Surveyor Vault from the destroyed machine and safe-pocket it immediately.

1. Check the wreck as soon as the Surveyor goes down.
2. Take the Surveyor Vault from the remains.
3. Move the Vault into your safe pocket before searching for extra loot.
4. Search the rest of the wreck for Blueprints if the area is secure.
5. Extract with the Vault protected.

Other raiders may also be drawn toward the beacon and the fight, so do not linger around the wreck longer than necessary.

Mixed Signals pays unusually well for a short hunt.

The Photoelectric Cloak also connects with crafting materials from Digging Up Dirt, making that quest worth keeping in mind if you are planning related equipment progression.

Surveyors remain worth killing after Mixed Signals because their wrecks can drop Blueprints. Once you are comfortable following the flickering beacon and stopping the escape, the same method can be reused whenever you spot one during normal raids.
