Follow DamnModz on GoogleFollow us on GoogleAdd us to your preferred Google sources.

ARC Raiders Empathetic Prototypes sends you to the Spaceport Trench Towers for Lance after Someone Else's Shoes. You can release the suspended Cargo Crate by hand using the supplied Grappling Hook, without a Spaceport Trench Tower Key or a terminal detour. Complete the crate run in one round, collect the Project Pathos Empathy Core and bring it back to Lance.

Quick Answer

  1. Reach the North Trench Tower between West Hangar and East Hangar and grapple onto its rooftop structures.
  2. Approach the south-facing trench edge, anchor your Grappling Hook and lower yourself onto the suspended Cargo Crate.
  3. Manually release the crate's Magnetic Lock at the support arm so the crate falls.
  4. Descend to the crate, search it and collect the Project Pathos Empathy Core.
  5. Extract with the core during that run and deliver it to Lance in Speranza.

Rewards: 5,000 XP, 1 Canto I and 2 Vita Shots.

Walkthrough

Requirements

  • Complete Someone Else's Shoes and accept this quest from Lance.
  • Equip the Grappling Hook supplied when you accept the quest.
  • Leave inventory space for the Project Pathos Empathy Core and bring healing for the climb and exit.
  • Plan to release the crate, collect the core and leave in one round.

You do not need a Spaceport Trench Tower Key for the manual route below. The keys guide covers the towers' separate locked-room access, not a requirement for this grapple approach.

Walkthrough

Reach the Trench Towers

Find the two towers facing one another across the trench between West Hangar and East Hangar in northern Spaceport. Use the Spaceport map for the hangar landmarks, then approach the North Trench Tower.

  1. Clear your immediate approach before stopping to aim the Grappling Hook.
  2. Grapple up to the North Trench Tower rooftop structures.
  3. Move toward the south-facing edge overlooking the gap and locate the crate suspended below.

Walkthrough

The Terminal Is Not Needed for This Route

Use the Magnetic Lock on the crate rather than searching the tower interior for the terminal. The rooftop grapple route takes you directly to the manual release, so you do not have to operate a terminal first or open a keyed tower room.

Walkthrough

Disable the Magnetic Lock on the Crate by Hand

  1. Anchor the Grappling Hook at the trench-facing edge above the suspended crate.
  2. Lower yourself onto the top of the crate rather than jumping down into the trench.
  3. Move carefully to the support arm attached to the crate and use its manual-release interaction.
  4. Let the crate drop, then use the Grappling Hook to manage your descent to it.

The manual release drops the crate. Reaching its top is not the end of the objective, and releasing it is not the same as collecting the core.

Walkthrough

Search the Cargo Crate and Take the Empathy Core

  1. Reach the fallen Cargo Crate and complete its search interaction.
  2. Collect the Project Pathos Empathy Core from the searched crate.
  3. Open your backpack and make sure the core is present before leaving the trench.

Keep the core for Lance and head for extraction instead of taking a long loot detour. Do not leave with only the crate released or searched.

How to Extract and Turn In

Carry the core to Central Elevator if it is active on your raid map, or use another active extraction you can reach. Finish the crate run in one round, including getting the delivery item back to Speranza.

Keep the core in your inventory, speak to Lance and deliver the Project Pathos Empathy Core to complete the quest. Claim the rewards after the handoff.

What Comes Before and After

When Everything Falls comes next. Shani sends you across Spaceport to take seven photos, finishing the chain that began with Home to Roost.

The chain is Home to Roost > Someone Else's Shoes > Empathetic Prototypes > When Everything Falls. Use the ARC Raiders quest hub to keep other active quests separate from this delivery.

Walkthrough

Other Trench Tower Quests

Turnabout uses the North Trench Tower, while Back on Top asks you to mark the South Trench Tower. Neither objective replaces this crate release and core delivery.

Switching the Supply rewards a Spaceport Trench Tower Key for a separate locked-room visit. You do not need to add that key to the manual route here.

Quick answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Need a Trench Tower Key for Empathetic Prototypes?

No key is needed for the manual grapple route. Use the supplied Grappling Hook to reach the North Trench Tower rooftop approach, lower yourself onto the suspended crate and release its support without entering a keyed tower room.

Do You Have to Use the Terminal Before the Manual Lock?

No. The manual route releases the crate without a terminal interaction first. Reach the support arm from the crate's top, finish the release and descend to search the fallen crate for the core.

Is Releasing the Cargo Crate Enough to Finish?

No. You still need to search the crate, collect the Project Pathos Empathy Core and bring it back to Lance. Make sure the item is in your backpack before leaving, then finish the run with a successful extraction.

When Do You Receive the Grappling Hook?

Lance supplies the Grappling Hook when you accept the quest. Equip it before deploying, since this route uses it both to reach the crate from the tower and to control the descent after the manual release.
