Gold Gadgets And Symbiote Styles, Explained

Both arrived with the update of 7 March 2024. It added the second-playthrough mode and, with it, Ultimate Levels that run past the normal level cap of 60. Climbing those levels is how players earn golden looks for their gadgets, new symbiote suit styles and a Suit Tech fusion slot. The same update brought mission replay and a time-of-day setting.

In a normal run, that means beating the story, starting over and grinding the extra levels. The save has the gold gadgets and the symbiote styles unlocked already. Because it's ready for a second playthrough, you can start that run straight away with the full kit.

What A Finished File Changes

With every skill bought, Peter's tree, Miles' tree and the shared tree are full, so neither hero is waiting on skill points. Every suit sits in the menu, so you dress Peter and Miles for the look you want instead of the next unlock. And with the side missions and activities marked complete, the city is yours for free roam, photo mode or the next playthrough.

What The Platinum Asks For

Trophy guides rate the list 2-3 out of 10 and estimate 25-35 hours, around 20 of them in the story. It takes one playthrough, nothing is missable, and the easiest difficulty, Friendly Neighborhood, counts for everything.

Superior, the gold for 100% in every district, is the long one. It covers Hunter Blinds and Hunter Bases, Symbiote Nests, Mysteriums, The Flame missions, Prowler Stashes, Spider-Bots, Photo Ops and more. A known bug can stop a collectible from counting, Hunter Blinds most often, so guides tell you to rotate between the 30 manual save slots.

Then come the shopping trophies: every suit, all five gadgets with five upgrades each, all four Suit Techs with eight upgrades each, and level 60. A few trophies hide in the map. Soar wants a glide from the Financial District to Astoria on Web Wings alone. Peter has to visit Aunt May's grave, and Miles has to find the science trophy he won with Phin. Fewer than one player in five has each of those three.
