Onee Chanbara Origin is Tamsoft's remake of the first two OneeChanbara games. Aya and her younger sister Saki carve through the undead with blades and a lot of blood. The story takes five or six hours. The platinum takes far longer, because nearly everything worth having costs money: one of every ring alone runs past five million.

Two Sisters, Fully Levelled

Aya is the series' katana-swinging cowgirl, and Saki is her younger sister. You tag between them mid-fight to stretch a combo. Story mode leaves most players around level 30, and getting both sisters to 99 normally means repeat runs of Infinite Survival.

The save puts you at max level with max XP, health, attack and defense. Trophy guides suggest doing that grind before Hard, Berserk and Violent. With this save, you walk into them at full strength.

Every Ring In The Shop

Rings are the real build system. There are 18, and buying one of each costs 5,650,000. Some only reach the shop after a feat, like 50 successful parries or 100 Xtasy Combination Attacks. Trophy guides point to three favourites. The Ring of Training boosts EXP and money, the Ring of the Baneful speeds up Berserk and Vo-ga, and the Ring of Xtasy makes the game far easier. In this save every ring is already maxed.

Gems And Fragments By The Stack

Consumables are pricey too. A Power Gem costs 8,000 and boosts your attack, and a Rapid Gem costs the same. Recovery Gems are 100,000 each, Cure Gems 3,500 and Goddess Statue Fragments 5,000. The save carries all five at max, so you can burn them on every boss without checking the bill.

Blood, Berserk And Vo-ga

Every kill paints the blade, and a bloody blade cuts slower until you flick it clean. Keep killing and the sisters slip into Berserk: more damage, less defense. Vo-ga, the Baneful Blood form, is the second transformation. Two silvers ask for 100 Berserk transformations and 100 Vo-ga transformations. Trophy guides call the Vo-ga count the longest grind in the game.

Four Difficulties And A Survival Tower

Trophy guides rate the platinum 3/10, with four playthroughs and about 25 hours. You clear the story on Normal, Hard, Berserk and Violent, and the Violent clear is a gold. Each run takes about two hours once you are strong. Infinite Survival adds a gold at floor 51, where Aya herself is the opponent. Three silvers want floors 8, 23 and 31 cleared without taking a hit: Devda, Death Bear and Oboro.

The rest is collecting and counting. Ring Collector wants every ring, Item Collector every consumable, and another silver wants 1,000,000 held at once. The parry trophies top out at 10 successful parries in a row against one boss.
