Six Slayers At The Level Cap
The six Slayers are Amy, Bruno, Carla, Dani, Jacob and Ryan, and each has two innate skills that change how they fight. Bruno hits harder from behind. Dani's heavy attacks explode on impact. Ryan wins back health every time he knocks a zombie down. Trying a second Slayer normally means a second climb to level 30.
The max-level save removes that climb for all six. Every Slayer starts at the cap with max EXP, max cash, max crafting resources and a pile of modded guns that kill in one shot, in the backpack and in storage. Story progress sits just after the prologue for each character, so Venice Beach, the Metro and Hollywood Boulevard are all still ahead of you. The save is set up in single-player mode.
Cash matters more than it looks. It buys weapons and blueprints from traders, and it pays for repairs, mods, perks and level matching at the workbench. Level matching is the expensive one: bringing an old favourite up to your level can cost thousands. With the balance maxed, you keep the weapons you like and stop selling junk to afford them.
The Legendary Arsenal Save
Legendary is the top weapon rarity, and Dead Island 2 doesn't hand those out at random. They come from set quests, Lost & Found jobs, named zombies and the odd vending machine. The Big Shot pistol, for example, is the reward for a Bel-Air side quest near the end of the story.
This save skips the hunt. You get a level 30 Slayer carrying more than 15 top-tier Legendary and meta guns, plus one fully modded weapon where a single bullet kills on any body part on the current patch. A few rare skins come along as a bonus. Pick it for one character built for the endgame and the clean-up. Pick the max-level save to replay the story with any of the six.
What The Platinum Asks For
Trophy guides rate the platinum 3 out of 10 and put it at 25 to 30 hours, in one playthrough with nothing missable. Fast travel and free roam stay open after the credits, so any quest can wait. The long part is the side content. LA Influential, one of the five golds, wants 40 non-story quests, side quests and Lost & Found jobs counted together. Sole Survivor needs nine Missing Person quests, and Jumbo Keyring wants ten lockboxes opened with keys taken from named zombies.
The challenge trophies are the slow burn. Bucket List, the first tier of every Combat Challenge, is the rarest trophy on the list after the platinum itself. Another asks you to throw a melee weapon into a zombie from 35 metres away. Max Headroom, the gold for reaching level 30, has a reputation for failing to unlock for some players.
The Three Trophies That Need Co-op
Dead Island 2 supports online co-op for three players, and three trophies can't be earned alone. Slayer Squad wants any five quests completed in co-op. I Am the Resurrection wants five revives of other Slayers. Survival Skills asks for the first tier of every Survivor Challenge, and one of those, Revival Act, is a revive challenge that only counts in online co-op. Without a regular partner, these are the trophies that stall a platinum.
