Check Apollo's objective counters before planning a dedicated combat run. The quest asks for 5 Wasp kills and 3 Firefly kills, and those enemies do not have to be killed on Riven Tides.
If either counter is short, the Stacking Yard area gives you a chance to fight both types while approaching the crane. Their drops can also supply the ARC Alloy needed for its repair.
Shoring Up Defenses Requirements
Accept Shoring Up Defenses from Apollo and unlock Riven Tides for the Stacking Yard and hotel objectives. Riven Tides is an available map; the limited Expedition window announced alongside its release was a separate progression event. You need 1 ARC Alloy at the crane; bringing it saves a loot search, but Wasp and Firefly kills can supply one.
A safe pocket is useful if you carry the Alloy into a raid. Accepting the quest also grants a Dockmaster's Detector, so check your quest inventory before deploying.
The Stacking Yard Crane Repair
At the Stacking Yard, climb a large crane and find the makeshift raider shelter near the top. Any of the three large cranes can satisfy the repair objective.
- Reach the Stacking Yard with 1 ARC Alloy, or collect one from a nearby ARC kill.
- Choose a crane and use its interior stairs for cover or an exterior zipline for speed.
- Find the shelter frame near the upper platform and use the repair interaction.
- Confirm the tracker updates before leaving for the hotel.
Battening Down offers another useful errand along this coast.
Which Hotel Windows to Board Up
At Hotel Panorama Azzurro, look for red, already-shuttered windows on the hotel's eastern side. They are easy to overlook if you search only for broken or open windows. The interaction is performed from inside a hotel room, not from the exterior balcony.
- Reach the eastern side of the hotel and look for the red shuttered windows shown below.
- Enter the hotel and go upstairs to a room behind the shutters. Room 213 is a documented working option; more than one room may work, and availability can vary.
- Check the inside face of the shutter for the BOARD UP WINDOW prompt. If it is absent, try another red-shuttered room rather than an open window.
Room 107 is associated with Battening Down, a separate objective. Be ready for small ARC threats inside the hotel.
Run It Alongside Battening Down
Battening Down is another Apollo quest on Riven Tides. Its Wavebreaker seawall, Azzurro Beach, and oil-pipe stops can be combined with this quest's Stacking Yard and Hotel Panorama Azzurro visits.
Plan the coast route around your spawn and extraction rather than crossing back and forth. Safe Harbor also uses the hotel, but follows Tian Wen's separate one-round objective.
Shoring Up Defenses Rewards
