Quick Answer
- Search around Cielo Sereno Observatory or the bus by Commissary Supermarket, and choose cover before attacking.
- Complete one objective: destroy the whole Bully, its head or four legs, not all three.
- Use a tether or stun to create a firing window, and keep clear if the headless machine is still moving.
- Search the remains, including the detached head, and put a Fragmenter in an available safe pocket if you find one.
- Deliver one Fragmenter to Apollo for a Wolfpack, a replacement Fragmenter and 10,000 XP.
Requirements
- Quest access: Complete Tracks of the Beast and accept Bait, Fetch, Blast from Apollo.
- Supplied equipment: Three Showstopper, two Barricade Kit, a Medium Shield and a Looting Mk. 3 augment.
- Weapon recommendation: Bring an Anvil for aimed shots or a Hullcracker for explosive damage, with enough ammunition to finish the encounter.
- Control recommendation: A Tether Launcher or mines can help hold the target for a burst.
- Supplies: Bring healing and shield recovery, and leave a safe-pocket slot available for the delivery item.
Pack your chosen weapons and ammunition alongside the supplied equipment.
Where to Find a Bully
Use Cielo Sereno Observatory and the bus by Commissary Supermarket as search landmarks on Pendola Pass. Neither landmark is a guaranteed spawn.
| Landmark | Where to Look |
|---|---|
| Cielo Sereno Observatory | The approach to the Observatory |
| Commissary Supermarket | Around the bus beside the supermarket |
- Approach your chosen search area with a building or solid obstacle nearby.
- Listen for the Bully and scan the open ground before crossing.
- Choose a covered firing position before drawing its attention.
Give yourself a place to break contact and reload instead of chasing the machine into the open. Use the ARC Raiders map hub to plan your broader route.

How to Kill the Bully
Choose One Destroy Objective
The three destroy objectives are grouped under COMPLETE EITHER OR: destroy a Bully, destroy its head or destroy four of its legs. Completing one method satisfies this group, so you do not need to complete the other two. Delivering a Bully Fragmenter is a separate objective.
Destroying the head does not immediately destroy the whole machine. A headless Bully can continue running and burning, so keep your distance instead of treating the completed head objective as an all-clear to loot.
How It Fights
The Bully charges in, fires a close-range canister blast, runs past and circles back. It can also throw cluster grenades from range. Its moving body does not mean its weapon has stopped tracking you.
Move sideways out of the charge lane and return to cover. Backpedalling along the same line keeps you in front of the attack.
Target the Yellow Knee Joints
The yellow knee joints give you a smaller, less armoured target than the torso. Wait for a turn or a brief stop, then concentrate your fire rather than spraying rounds across the whole body.
The gun housing opens during firing, but aiming into an attack is riskier than taking a clean knee shot from cover.
Pin It, Then Burst It
- Set up your firing angle and reload before using the control tool.
- Tether a leg or catch the charge with a stun.
- Follow immediately with aimed shots or a Snap Blast Grenade.
- Break contact to heal and reload before the next pass.
A Deadline is another explosive option for a pinned target, but give yourself room to retreat from the blast. Treat control tools as an opening for damage, not a reason to stand beside the Bully.
Keep the Fight Near Cover
Do not chase the machine when it runs off. Hold a position with a clear escape angle so the next charge comes through a lane you can see. A supported weapon and a good firing position matter more than emptying your ammunition as quickly as possible.
Choose finished weapons for your Pendola Pass loadout before taking on the Bully.
Get the Bully Fragmenter
Search the Bully remains, including a detached head, and take a Fragmenter if one is present. Keep clear of the machine if it is still moving after losing its head.
- Wait for a safe opening to approach the detached remains or wreck.
- Search the remains, including the detached head, for a Fragmenter.
- Move a Fragmenter from the loot list into your inventory if you find one.
- Place the delivery copy in an available safe pocket.
Keep one for Apollo rather than throwing or recycling it. The Fragmenter is an explosive throwable as well as the item you need to deliver.
Troubleshooting
The Tether Launcher Has No Repair Option
The repair option for the Tether Launcher is unavailable. Do not rely on repairing a worn launcher before this hunt.
How to Extract and Turn In
- Head to an active gondola transceiver on your map.
- Request a Ballistic Gondola and move to its landing marker.
- Open a pod and board for the return to Speranza.
- Open Apollo's quest screen and deliver the Bully Fragmenter.
Keep the delivery copy available for Apollo rather than using it during the trip to the gondola.
Rewards
| Reward | Type | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Bully Fragmenter | Throwable | A new reward item after the delivery |
| 1 Wolfpack | Explosive | Separate from the Fragmenter you hand over |
| 10,000 XP | Experience | Quest reward |
The Showstoppers, Barricade Kits, Medium Shield and augment are supplied when you accept the quest. They are not additional items in this completion reward table.
What Comes After
No follow-up quest is listed after Bait, Fetch, Blast in ARC Raiders. Tracks of the Beast is its prerequisite and introduces the Bully through a ping objective, not this fight.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do You Need All Three Kill Methods in Bait, Fetch, Blast?
No. Destroying a Bully, destroying its head and destroying four of its legs are alternatives, not cumulative tasks. Complete one method, then deliver a Bully Fragmenter to Apollo.
Is Bait Fetch Blast the Same ARC Raiders Quest?
Yes. That is the name without punctuation. The in-game title is Bait, Fetch, Blast.
Do You Need to Enter the Emperor to Hunt a Bully?
No. The Bully encounter takes place outside on Pendola Pass, not inside the Emperor dungeon.
Can You Buy an Anvil Directly From Tian Wen for This Quest?
No. Check the Nomadic Envoys' weekly weapon offers instead of Tian Wen. Both Anvil and Hullcracker offers have moved to that rotation.
