ARC Raiders A New Type of Plant: Where to Find the Possibly Toxic Plant

Complete Building A Library first. That prerequisite comes from Apollo even though A New Type of Plant is a Lance quest, so the unlock crosses trader chains.

Bring a real loadout with a weapon suited to human opponents, ammunition and healing. You must carry the plant to extraction, and the nearest route can be contested. Use a safe pocket if your gear supports one.

You need the Baron Husk at Old Battleground in the western swamp of Dam Battlegrounds. This is not the Derelict Baron Husk used in Keeping the Memory, which is at the Wreckage in Formicai Hills.

Both can be described simply as a Baron Husk, so use Old Battleground as the deciding landmark for this quest.

The Possibly Toxic Plant is a knee-high plant with three red-orange flower clusters growing right beside the Old Battleground Baron Husk. Search the ground immediately around and beneath the fallen ARC until the quest interaction appears.

1. Approach the Old Battleground Baron Husk from the swamp side.
2. Scan the plants close to the body for the interact prompt.
3. Interact with the quest plant once the prompt appears.
4. Pick up the dropped item from the ground before leaving.

Breaching the Baron's main body for loot can trigger a detonation and burst of flames. The plant objective does not require you to loot the body, so skip the breach if you only want the quest item.

If you choose to loot it, breach the husk, move away immediately, wait for the blast to finish, then return for materials such as ARC Alloys and ARC Flex Rubber.

The Central Swamp Lift to the east is the natural extraction route after picking up the plant. Protect the item first, then move toward the lift with enough healing and ammunition to survive ARC and raider traffic.

Dying with the plant unprotected, or leaving the area without actually picking up the dropped quest item, means starting the run again.

The quest usually fails to progress because the item was never picked up after the plant interaction, the player died before a successful extraction, or the wrong nearby plant was checked. Make sure you see the quest interact prompt, then confirm the Possibly Toxic Plant is physically in your inventory before heading to extract.

If no nearby plant shows an interaction, search the ground immediately around the husk rather than leaving for the other Baron location.

The Antiseptic makes this quest worth completing early if your Medical Lab still needs the upgrade material.
