What Full Vitals Spare You

Your survival watch tracks four meters: health, hunger, thirst and sunlight, shown as SPF. Each one bites when it runs low. An empty SPF meter means sunstroke, which doubles how fast you dehydrate. Health regenerates while hunger and thirst both stay above 80%. Too many coconuts in a day bring diarrhoea and drain your water fast.

Then come the status effects: poisoning from lionfish, sea urchins and sea snakes, broken bones, bleeding after a fight. This save starts with hunger, thirst and SPF full and every one of those effects cleared, so your first trip out isn't a race back to the water still.

Five Skills At The Top

Skills normally level one action at a time, and each level needs far more experience than the last. Here is what the top level buys you. Hunting raises weapon damage to 1.75 times the base, which matters with a speargun against a shark. Cooking more than doubles what a large piece of meat restores. Harvesting brings trees and rocks down about 50% faster.

Physical stretches sprinting to 30 seconds and holding your breath to 43, up from 20 and 29, which buys a lot of time inside a shipwreck. Craftsmanship unlocks the recipes kept behind higher levels, the gyrocopter among them.

What The Platinum Asks

Trophy guides rate the list 5/10 at about 30 hours, all in one run. A string of trophies wants ten days in a row of something: on one island, without meat, without fish and without sleeping on land. Each in-game day lasts about 20 minutes, so guides stack them early. Magnets, how do they work? is the trap. You must finish the game without ever using a compass, and that includes the one sitting in your lifeboat.

The collection trophies are just as fussy. One gold wants every craftable item made at least once. Who needs the sea anyway? wants all eight crops planted on the same island, from aloe vera to potatoes. Two of each asks for two of every land animal on your raft as you sail into a storm. Guides mark both of those as buggy.

Three Monsters And A Plane

The way out is a damaged plane on a beached aircraft carrier. It needs three parts, and each boss you kill unlocks one of them: The Meg with 500 health, The Great Abaia with 750 and Lusca the Great with 1,000. Load the plane with 10 food items, 10 units of water and two Jerrycans of fuel, then fly out for Out of the frying pan. Call me Ahab wants all three sea monster trophies collected, and every boss fight is likely to leave you bleeding.
