Prototype 2 hands James Heller his powers slowly. Both saves cost $50 and work on PS4 and PS5. On a PS5, Prototype 2 is the PS4 game running through backward compatibility. The difference between the two saves is where they start and what they include, which the next sections spell out.

Which Save Fits Your Run
The modded save starts at the very beginning of the story. Heller is at max evolution with every ability, evolution, mutation, power and skill upgrade, and the Devastator is already unlocked. On a normal run you only learn it in Orion Phase Two, in the Yellow Zone. This is the save for replaying the whole campaign as a finished Prototype.
The modded starter save picks up after the prologue. It carries max Evolution Points and every upgrade in the Combat, Disguise, Movement, Powers, Survivability, Vehicle and Weaponry groups. Choose it if your main goal is a finished upgrade menu.
The Five Radnet Mutations
Mutations are passive perks. The main game sorts them into five groups and hands them out for collectible sets and //BLACKNET dossiers. The modded save also includes the five Radnet mutations, which first came as rewards for the 2012 Radnet challenges:
- Health Pack: your Brawler pack gets 25% more health.
- Fast Learner: kills earn bonus EP.
- Ravenous: enemies need 10% less damage before you can consume them.
- Security Blanket: health regenerates 1% per second while you block.
- Weightless: a second glide in the same flight floats you higher.
Where The Platinum Gets Long
Trophy guides rate the list easy, around 2 out of 10, but plan on 20 hours and two playthroughs. All Growed Up is the grind: fully upgrade Heller, which means reaching evolution level 23. Finishing every mission and collectible usually leaves you around level 18-20, so most players finish the climb on a second run.
That second run is also where Master Prototype comes in, because Hard difficulty only unlocks after you beat the story once. Your upgrades and EP carry over. The final fight against Alex Mercer is the toughest part, since Heller can't refill his health during a round on Hard.
The collectibles cover all three zones: 45 BlackBoxes for Follow Your Nose, 28 Field Ops teams for Up to No Good and 9 Lairs for Spindler's Search. Finally Full wants all 46 upgrades that come from consuming marked targets. Some skill trophies need a well-grown Heller first. So Above It All asks for 25 seconds in the air without a helicopter, which takes maxed jump height and extra Air Dashes. Road Rage wants 10 Blackwatch vehicles destroyed with one hijacked tank or APC.
The PS4 List, On PS4 Or PS5
Prototype 2 has a PS3 trophy list and a separate PS4 list from the 2015 re-release. Our team unlocks the PS4 one on your account: 26 bronze, 15 silver, 2 gold and the platinum. What are the Radnet mutations?

Yes. The PS5 runs the PS4 release of Prototype 2 through backward compatibility. Choose PS4 or PS5 in the platform box when you order either save.
Is the platinum for the PS3 or the PS4 version?
The PS4 version from 2015. Its list has 44 trophies: 26 bronze, 15 silver, 2 gold and the platinum. The PS3 release has a separate list that this service does not cover.
