A Party That Starts At Max XP

Stories 2 fights in teams. Battle Buddies join you with their own weapons and, if they are Riders, their own Monsties, so up to four fighters stand on your side. Every Head-to-Head is Power, Speed or Technical: Speed beats Power, Technical beats Speed, Power beats Technical. Match your Monstie's type and win, and you land a Double Attack. Battle Buddies' Monsties can join those too.

Trophy guides put a finished story at around level 40, and they suggest a high rank team near level 50 before the Deviant monsters and the Elder's Lair. With max XP across the party, you walk into the post-game ready for it instead of grinding the early zones of the Lair first.

Every Weapon And Armor Set In The Box

Your Rider can carry six weapon types: Great Sword, Sword and Shield, Hammer, Hunting Horn, Bow and Gunlance. Each one deals slashing, blunt or piercing damage, and the right type breaks the right monster part, which can knock a monster down and drop better materials. With every weapon and armor set unlocked, you switch to whatever the next fight needs without a trip to the smithy.

Genes, Bingos And The Book Of Genes

The Rite of Channeling moves a gene from one Monstie into another, awakening a skill the receiver would never have naturally. A gene's color is its element and its pattern is its attack type. Line up three of the same color or pattern in a row, column or diagonal on the 3x3 grid and you earn a Bingo Bonus. Stories 2 also lets you stack a gene on top of a matching one and collect several bingos at once.

The Book of Genes is the long tail. Every hatched Monstie can roll random skill genes, and the gold trophy wants all 398 that count. Max Zenny and a full item bag keep that egg-hatching loop moving.

What Wings Of Hope Asks For

Trophy guides rate the list 3 out of 10 and estimate about 100 hours in one playthrough. The difficulty is low. The length is the problem.

The two golds are both collections. Genetics Compendium wants the full Book of Genes, and Catavan Conqueror wants all 50 Catavan Stands, 18 of them inside the Elder's Lair and its special version. Monster Rider asks you to see every Kinship Skill, and Bonds of Friendship every Double Kinship Skill. The Monstipedia and Monsterpedia need completing, you collect every Skill Scroll and every recipe, and Trendsetter wants Navirou in every outfit. Single and Pair Versus Battles also count, and they can be won offline.
