Two Files In One Order
The 100% file is the state a full clear leaves you in. The story is beaten, so Chapter Select and Hard difficulty are already open. Load it to replay any chapter with your whole party, or start Hard straight away.
The second file sits in Chapter 12, A Golden Key. It is the Gold Saucer chapter with the stage play, and it still has its own batch of side quests and the open world around it. That file is set up with most of the essentials for a Hard run.
What Hard Mode Takes Away
Hard opens once you finish the story on any difficulty. Enemies hit much harder and have far more HP. Items are locked for the whole run, and benches restore HP but not MP. Your MP comes back from Mako shards in broken crates, from cushions at Chocobo Stops and during fights.
Trophy guides suggest reaching level 70 first, with stacks of Healing, Revival and Prayer materia and a few copies of Magnify. They also point to accessories like the Ribbon against status effects and Gotterdammerung for a full limit gauge at the start of a fight. Of Hardy Stock, a silver, wants every chapter cleared on Hard.
Where The 150 Hours Go
The only gold is 7-Star Hotel. Johnny runs a Seaside Inn in Costa del Sol, and he wants all 88 items for its treasure trove. Those items come from side quests, minigame high scores and combat simulator wins, so the gold is close to 100% completion on its own. 5-Star Hotel, a silver, unlocks at 60 donations.
Virtually Renowned asks for all of Chadley's combat simulations, and trophy guides rate the Brutal and Legendary bouts as tougher than the whole Hard run. Materia Completionist needs every materia Chadley can develop, which means all 169 World Intel. Bladesman of Legend means beating Gilgamesh on his island in the Meridian Ocean. The island opens after every Protorelic, and three double summon fights come first: Titan with Bahamut Arisen, Phoenix with Kujata, then Alexander with Odin.
The bronze list keeps you busy too. My Job Here Is Done wants all 36 side quests, and Hall of Famer wants all 20 chocobo races across three grades. Piano Virtuoso wants an A rank on six songs. Polygonal Prizefighter means beating Sephiroth in 3D Brawler at the Gold Saucer. Stealing the Show needs over 100,000 points in the Junon parade, and Critically Acclaimed needs an S review for the Chapter 12 play. Chapter Select brings everything back, so nothing is missable.
