Will, Sparks And Relics In Plain Terms
Will is the currency. Enemies drop it, and shrine stores sell crafting materials for it: the first shrine of chapter 4 charges 3,000 Will for each Fine Gold Thread. With a million banked at 0% progress, early crafting is limited by boss drops rather than money.
Sparks are skill points. You earn them by levelling up and by resting at hidden meditation spots, and you can reallocate them freely. A level 50 start with the core trees already built makes the first chiefs on Black Wind Mountain far less of a wall.
The six Relics are the Great Sage's lost senses. You claim one when a chapter's final boss falls, and each lets you pick a permanent passive. The sixth only comes after the final boss, so a save holding all six is a finished one.
The Jingubang is the Monkey King's own staff. You earn it in chapter 6 by wearing four Mythical armor pieces into the Water Curtain Cave. Its unique effect stops your fourth Focus point from draining away.
Why The Platinum Needs A Second Cycle
Trophy guides put the platinum at 40 to 60 hours, with two playthroughs at minimum. Six Senses Secured, a gold, only pops after you enter a new cycle and reach the opening fight again. Master of Magic asks for every spell and then the same restart. Starting the new cycle overwrites your save, so cleanup has to happen first.
Seven trophies are missable. Two hang on NPCs who turn up in every chapter: the Old Man for Always Accompanied and the Horse for Urge Unfulfilled. Exhaust their dialogue before you move on, or wait for the next cycle to try again.
The secret ending is a project of its own. Meet the Match, another gold, needs all four secret-area bosses dead, from Elder Jinchi in chapter 1 to the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast in chapter 5. You also finish the Treasure Hunter questline in chapter 3. Only then does the Great Pagoda let you into Mount Mei, where Erlang is waiting.
Collection fills the rest. Portraits Perfected wants the complete journal of yaoguai, chiefs and kings. Fickle Forms wants every transformation and spirit skill. The Clamor of Frogs means six frog bosses, one per chapter, and The Sire and Sons means four hidden Loong bosses.
