Rune Factory 4 Special drops you into Selphia with amnesia and a royal job you never asked for. Running the town costs two things. Prince Points pay for every Order, from a festival to a crafting license, and gold pays for the workstations, the recipe breads and the seeds. The platinum stretches that economy over years of in-game time. Fewer than 1% of tracked PS4 players have it.

Two Saves For Two Different Grinds

The Starter Save is about money and rank. Early Selphia is tight: the Forge alone is a 3,000-gold purchase before Lumber and Material Stone, and each license comes from the Order Symbol for Prince Points. Ordering a festival costs 1,000 Prince Points, and opening the Sharance Maze costs 3,000. With both maxed, you order what you want when you want it. Max HP and RP keep you farming, fighting and crafting longer each day, since RP drains with every swing of a tool and every craft.

The Late-Game Items Save is about gear and crafting. You get late-game weapons and equipment, every material for forging and crafting, every seed for the farm, most of the rare fish and rare spells and skills. Your weapon and recipe skills are already levelled, so the recipe breads from Porcoline's kitchen teach the better recipes. Most townsfolk already like you a lot, so relationship events open sooner. Most of the story is still ahead of you.

Why The Platinum Takes 125 Hours

Trophy guides rate it 4 out of 10 and estimate around 125 hours in one playthrough. The first deadline comes early. Seventeen trophies are festival wins, and guides say to take them all in year one, before Arc 2 ends. Finishing Arc 2 jumps the calendar a full year, and every year the festivals get harder to place in.

The six Sharance Mazes open from the trophy room off your bedroom once you order them after Arc 2, and guides suggest finishing Arc 3 first. Garden of Light has enemies around level 300. Banquet of Nightmares, the last of them, runs 30 floors of enemies near level 1,000.

Then the real grind. Shipped All Items wants all 1,073 shippable items sent through the shipping box. Beloved By All wants every townsperson at friendship level 10, Barret and Raven excepted. Built the Biggest Monster Barn sounds like one barn, but it needs all 10 barns fully upgraded. The bill is 40,420,000 in gold, 108,198 Prince Points, 44,700 Lumber and 34,520 Material Stone. Made It to Level 1,000 usually means taming a monster that is already near that level. Marriage, a child and Five Years Passed round out the list.

Special On PS4, Played On PS5

Rune Factory 4 first came out on 3DS in 2012. Special arrived on Switch in 2019 and on PS4 on 7 December 2021. There is one trophy list, the PS4 one, and it is the same whether you play on PS4 or PS5. The Late-Game Items Save only offers PS4 at checkout: pick it even if you play on a PS5.
