What Mater Does With A Full Stock
In Patapon 2, Mater creates, revives, levels and evolves your troops. The Evolution Map shows each class as a tree of Rarepons, and every node lists the Ka-ching and the materials it needs. Materials come in common and rare versions, and the rare ones mean replaying hunts and boss fights. That is where the grind lives. With max Ka-ching and max materials, you can walk the Yaripon, Tatepon and Yumipon maps as far as you like without another hunting trip.
The Altar is the shrine in Patapolis that holds the tribe's whole inventory: key items, materials, weapons, the Hero's masks, Patagate eggs and your Ka-ching. A maxed Altar and max weapons mean every unit can carry the best gear you own from the first mission on.
The Island Is Still Ahead Of You
The story is still yours to play. The Patapons wash ashore after the Kraken wrecks their ship, meet the masked Hero and fight the Karmen across the island. The drum commands still have to land on the beat, and Fever still comes from keeping the rhythm. What changes is what you bring into each battle: a fully evolved army instead of a few basic spears.
Why The Patapon 2 Platinum Is So Rare
Under 2% of players on the PS4 list hold the platinum, To Earthend. Trophy guides rate it 5 out of 10 for skill and put it near 100 hours, almost all of it grinding. Three golds ask for every memory on the Yaripon, Tatepon and Yumipon Evolution Maps. Three bronzes want the Babassa, Mogyugyu and Wagyanba Rarepons. Two silvers want a Divine weapon and a Demon weapon.
The village adds more. Six bronzes want level 3 of the minigames run by Fah Zakpon, Kon Kimpon, Pan the Pakapon, Rah Gashapon, Shuraba Yapon and Ton Kampon. Five Miracles and two Juju songs each have a trophy, from the Rain Miracle to the Earthquake. Nine bosses carry a bronze each, from Dodonga to Kanogias, and Dettankarmen at the end is a gold.
Which List We Unlock
We unlock the Patapon 2 Remastered list from 2020, the PS4 one with 40 trophies. It is the same list on a PS5 playing the PS4 game.
